The entity that bore its radiance upon the sky slowly began to descend as its eye constantly lingered its attention to a man who was sweating from top to bottom, clutching onto the match and branches of the trees tightly.
His crimson-like iris staring back at the eye, it felt like an intense eye contest as he continued staring at the eye, gulping his saliva involuntarily.
The plan was simple; Kefir was gonna light the branches on fire and use that as a weapon against whatever would pop out at night.
It was a 50/50, either the creatures would be affected by it and Kefir would utilize that as his advantage or if it didn't, he was pretty much screwed but who could blame him with the lack of resources given to him by faith.
His revolver rested in his holster and a branch in his hand opposite the box of matches. He stared upon the crimson sky where the eye once laid.
The horizon's radiance of red wavered soon, replaced by a deeper shade of red overlaying it.
'Papa… do your best to live!' Pleaded the voice who Kefir started to get closer to, it was odd because the thing is gonna consume him one day by time. But it was unusually warming to have someone cheer for him in these times of loneliness for the poor guy.
A few hours passed and night had emerged. The sky oozing in dark red mixed with the chills that crawled up Kefir's spine.
Glancing around, he began to notice some creatures lurching out from the depths of distance. As he guessed it, the creatures were the shadowy figures he once met, standing at 7ft tall.
Igniting a couple of matches, the branch he held burst into flames, slowly burning the top of it into ciders. Fortunately, the shadowy creatures sensing the heat of the fire took a step back, seemingly startled.
Clenching onto the branch tightly, his heartbeat increased as sweat dripped slowly downwards from his heat. The heat mixed with the nervousness on the risk he took scrambled his brain a bit.
"Ahahah..! The fire is working!" Unable to stop a smirk from curving onto his face, Kefir rejoiced for a few seconds before raising his guard up as the shadowy monsters began the removal process of the flames, utilising the ground soil along with other tools nature offered such as branches from the ground, swatting the flames near him with accurate precision, a clean swoop of air.
A swoosh so smooth it gave enough time for the branches which some of the shadowy creatures utilised, to not catch on fire.
His heart began to accelerate its beat rate from the help of the voice; pumping more blood cells into his body. Kefir recognized what the voice was doing. It was supporting him by providing more flow of nutritions throughout his body, allowing his speed and strength to be raised at a higher rate.
Cracking a smile on what the voice did without asking it, this feeling he felt was baffling, nevertheless he circled the bell as he compelled the creatures back who flinched from the touch of the agonising flames.
One of the creatures struck him on the chest as small wounds embedded his flesh. A quick glance in the back, he raised his forearm, grasping the branch with veins bulging, he marched forward, failing to dodge some lunges from the creature as it extended its reach, catching the hint Kefir was gonna go aggressive on it.
Clashing against the shadowy substance of its very being, Kefir clubbed the figure through the help of a high jump which was assisted by increasing acceleration of his sprint.
The shadowy creature took a few steps back as its head slowly evaporated to non-existence.
Comprehending what they saw, the creatures of shadow envisioned if they kept the human alive any longer they too would share the same fate. At that spark of fury, the atmosphere intensified with bloodlust lingering in the air.
Suffocating Kefir to some limit, he trailed his way back, his eyes spinning all around, trying to not give out any openings to his foes. The burning branch appeared to reach midway of its lifespan, the heat exerting its steam upon the surrounding and him.
The sky clasping its continuous bloody world of night, it was gonna be a long journey for Kefir who chuckled at the sight of the approaching groups of shadows, closing in on him.
