So before the horn sounds and shit going to hell, the world still moved like it was supposed to. People still did their jobs, traveled, and stuff like that. Most of the events that took place on Earth prior to the horn sounds were not of particular importance.
There were some exceptions though. Recently in parts of the Libyan desert near Egypt, there had been talks amongst archeologists and researchers about a possible newly discovered ancient structure. The topology of the presumed site made them guess that the structure was most likely a pyramid. Some ancient texts were also hinting at this.
If they were interpreting the ancient texts right then it was indeed a pyramid, but what truly made them confused was that certain texts and various other hints point at the pyramid being Inverted .
Now, what...?
All the researchers and archaeologists felt baffled. There was about 2 things obviously wrong with the entire structure. First, it was underground. Second, it was upside down.
What would be the overhead costs and physics behind an inverted, upside down pyramid?
They didn't know, but were surely determined to find out. It took them a while, about a year to be precise, but they finally narrowed down the upsidedown pyramid's approximate location.
After doing that, it took them another six months to find an entrance. The structure was buried underground so it wasn't easy.
The date was March 4, 2024 and they were ready to finally enter this upsidedown pyramid thing. The entrance they had managed to dig up was on the top of the upsidedown pyramid's base (or peak cause it's inverted).
The exploration of the inverted structure began at 8:00 am Eastern European Standard time. The researchers and archeologists with all their equipment dabbled around for several hours. The layout of the pyramid was vastly different from the layouts of other similar structures. This was probably due to its inverted nature.
Though the purpose of the inverted structure still remained an unknown, the researchers were able to piece together a few clues that pointed towards the sun, Literally.
The hieroglyphs and depections on the walls spoke of heliolatry a.k.a Sun worship.
On the walls were depections of Ra, the Egyptian sun god. The hieroglyphs told his tales and rained praises on his existence.
This was probably in his honor. But the question still remained, why build an upsidedown pyramid, underground to honor sun god Ra? Couldn't they build them above ground?
As the question lingered in everyone's mind, the lead archeologist Christopher Reed, an English man, felt his brain bubble with excitement. This was why he chose this career path! His mind felt free as his imagination wandered. They hadn't figured out what this strange Inverted pyramid was for so until then, he could imagine literally anything!
As Reed's mind continued to buzz, time continued to fly . Soon another hour passed and the researchers and archeologists were just about satisfied. They obviously didn't expect to dig up all the secrets in one day, they had time.
Before rounding up their journey, it was decided that they would explore the middle layer of the inverted structure.
It was around this layer most pyramid's had the tombs of their pharaohs . But due to the irregularity of this pyramid, they were not too sure. This pyramid was quite spacious and had a whole host of things that other pyramids didn't have. The pyramid may have not even been dedicated to any pharaoh, but rather to Sun worship alone.
When they got to the middle layer, it was a whole different kind of vibe. In fact, one could say it was fu*king magic!
"Holy...sh!t.." One of the researchers muttered. He was a dark skinned man, and he currently had trouble closing his mouth.
He couldn't be blamed though, this was really not what they were expecting. The scene had completely changed. From the usual dark places with yellowish walls to a self illuminated structure with a floating tomb.
What....?
Christopher Reed's eyes sparkled and his mind went blank. The scene in front of him had broken his cognition!
The researchers, archeologists, and workers wielding flash lights all came to a pause as soft green lights radiating from the walls assulted them. Things had gone from ancient to sifi very fast.
When the group walked in, they appeared on a railing. The railing circled around the entire pyramid's structure at that level. The walls exuded a soft green light and there was a walkway to a tomb that was seemingly floating in the air.
If one looked down from the railings, everything else from that point of the pyramid could be seen. That means they could see the inverted peak. It was a long drop down.
The walls were covered in hieroglyphs and all the hieroglyphs were black, creating clear contrast with the green walls of the place. The hieroglyphs and descriptions looked bold and severe.
The center piece of the structure was a floating Sarcophagus.
The Sarcophagus was somehow gold in color , it kinda looked like sun light.
The Sarcophagus was actually quite plain and didn't take the shape of anything in particular.
The only thing that was on the Sarcophagus was a white disk. On the disk was an eye.
"Ra..." Christopher Reed muttered after seeing the symbol.
Then as if on queue, that familiar horn sound was heard.
"THRUMMMM!!"
Everyone on the railings immediately froze. Their expressions changed and silence re-descended on the place.
The reactions of the people varied, but it seemed like most were Islam as they brought out prayer beads and started counting it while muttering something. They were probably praying. Christopher wasn't part of this camp and was sweating heavily. It was like Christopher had completely forgotten about the tomb as he continued to sweat with a constipated expression. He reached for his phone and opened it. The first notification he saw read .
[Judgement day!]
...well. The horn sounds lasted for over 5 minutes, then....

["Humans, it's the end."] With that most people's heart fell to the pit of their stomachs, some fell on their knees and started praying, some just looked lost, but each one of them continued to listen. ["Indeed, it is the end. But, it's also a new beginning."] another voice said. Similar to the last, it also spoke directly to their souls this new voice was just feminine. ["THEY want a battle"] the first voice said. ["But HE does not"] the second replied. ["However, THEY are many"] the first continued ["But HE is not"] the second lamented. ["Therefore, a battle is Inevitable"] the first voice said. ["Till then though, a new stage has risen"] the second voice said . ["The Universe needs heroes."] said the first. ["And Heroes are forged through battle."] the second added. ["So the gates below will be opened"] said the first. ["And the things chained below will be released"] added the second. ["The worlds will be connected"] said the first ["And the races will mix"] continued the second. ["The lands will spit out the unclean they have taken"] said the first ["And no more unclean shall they take"] replied the second. ["We will be straight with you"] said the first ["Most of you will die"] continued the second. ["But we could be wrong"] said the first ["So why don't you surprise us?"] continued the second. ["Indeed"] said the first ["We await your ascension"] added the second. With that, all the voices faded and something else took its place. In front of every human was a holographic box. Each person's box had the exact same words. It read
[The Divine are Watching.]
After the whole replay of old events , the green light coming off the walls dimmed a little.
Christopher Reed noticed this, but his mind was too muddled at the moment. Apparently, the world had just ended. A little too much to take in.
Then a light 'ding' rang out and a notification box hit all of them. It was about the Tutorial.
Most people were too lost to check it, but some did. Christopher was part of the former group, but not because he was too lost, no . It was because he had finally decided to read the bold hieroglyphs.
The bold symbols on closer inspection were actually quite simple. The hieroglyphic text some how made almost a one to one mapping with some English words and were easy to translate. It read :

DO NOT OPEN THIS, PLEASE. ."""
Well....
Reed raised an eyebrow. You would expect things like that to be a bit more cryptic.
As if on queue, the green light radiating from the walls dimmed by another order of magnitude. This cause Reed to squint his eyes as he looked in the direction of the Sarcophagus.
'Ah...'
He thought as he gazed at the now partially opened Sarcophagus. A hand was sticking out.
'...Fu*k.'
He thought and as if on queue, his phone started ringing and his ring tone rang out throughout the mostly silent room .
` I live inside my own world of make-believe
Kids screaming in their cradles, profanities
I see the world through eyes covered in ink and bleach
Cross out the ones who held my cries and watched me weep...

Fire's spreading all around my room
My world's so bright
It's hard to breathe, but that's alright

Hearing the sound, Christopher Reed brought his phone towards his face and read the caller's name, Son.
Reed's eyes glazed over then he lowered his phone as his ring tone continued to play.
Then he looked at the hieroglyphs, looked at the now open Sarcophagus before finally looking at the latest tutorial prompt.
A look of resignation crawled into his face. He was definitely going to die.
