As was common with Cain's story, the scene changed again and we appeared back in the golden place. Since we were dealing with the AESIR, this was probably Asgard.
'AESIR...?' Cain showed a confused expression as he stared at Thor, but no words came out of his mouth. Meanwhile, the All-Father's empty eye socket scanned Cain once again before he briefly put up a smile . The expression didn't last though. It was what one would call a micro expression.
The all father's micro expression was caught by no one, excluding the man with the swirling eyes off course. He flashed a look at the all father before walking out of the majestic room through a different exit.
From his expression, it was clear that he didn't want to get involved in the all father's business.
The red haired Thor gazed deeply at Cain before opening his mouth to ask "How does it feel human?...to be like us...to be immortal?"
Cain looked back at Thor with a pensive expression before saying "Honestly, it gets old."
Thor chuckled lightly before looking away from Cain. He turned towards the all father who had turned his back to Cain and was now several steps away from them. "Father..." Thor said as the red in his eyes was overtaken by a pale blue color. "I'm ready."
The all father turned to look at Thor before saying "Good, so what is your way?"
Thor took a deep breath before replying "Lightening is the only way." After he said that, it was like the place they were in visibly darkened and a low rumble akin to the sound of thunder resounded.
The all-father showed a pleased expression before whispering "Hymdal..." Immediately, a rainbow pillar of light consumed all three of them, then they vanished. This time though, the rainbow pillar didn't leave any marks on the golden ground. The golden room was now empty, except for the guards off course, but they looked like real life statues so i guess it didn't matter...
'Boom' a muffled boom rang out, or it should have rang out but this time nothing was heard. The 3 of them landed on solid rocky ground. The background was black and dotted with stars.
A stupidly large heavenly body was next to them. It was Jupiter!
'What...?' Cain thought, but before he could process the situation further, he realized he couldn't breathe! He had been in similar situations before so that was cool. What was not ,however, was how he felt. His surroundings were cold, yet he felt his skin burning. The contrast between the two situations immediately started to make him sweat! Yet, the sweat droplets on his forehead immediately turned to ice. Before Cain's situation could get any more disturbing, the all-father snapped his hands and a bubble like sphere of transparent light covered Cain.
Thor looked at Cain's face and chuckled. 'Cosmic radiation. he'll get used to it.'
The group walked forward for another ten minutes or so. When they stopped, they where still in the middle of nowhere but now, Cain had a much better view of the sun and even a small glowing blue ball. 'Home...?' Cain thought as he continued to gaze at the beautiful blue ball. Next to it was another ball. That ball was mostly green and brown. 'Mars...' Cain looked back at the Earth. From this distance, everything looked so... small and meaningless. It's the truth though. If you just zoomed out , you would quickly realize that you're just some person in some country that's on some continent that's on some planet that's in some solar system which is in some galaxy that's in some universe. In conclusion, we are microscopic fish in some universal pond, Completely meaningless.
"We are here." Said the all father, snapping Cain out of his daze in the process.
"Good, but where is 'here'?" Thor asked with a raised eyebrow.
The all father chuckled and his empty eye socket glowed in a vibrant golden light. "It really doesn't matter. " After saying that, the all-father made a crisp 'snap' sound with his fingers and the ground instantly swallowed both Thor and Cain!
Both their visions turned black! before being hit by bright sunlight and mighty winds. Thor's flowing hair flapped around the place as his body spun endlessly in the hair. He had a relaxed smile on his face while falling from a ridiculous height! I mean, the ground couldn't even be seen! Yet our boy was all smiles!
Cain's case was a bit different. He wasn't panicking, but he surely didn't have a smile either!
'Damn it, why is this even happening!" He screamed endlessly in his mind.
He didn't show all this though as he continued to descend freely. The mighty winds caused his hood and the face rag he held to flap around crazily. By this time, the ground was already looking fairly close.
Funny how there was no 'ground' to speak of! What they both saw was blackish. It looked like how certain parts of the sea would look. It looked like a large body of water.
"Well, at least it's not the ground." Said Thor as his shirtless figure continued to descend like a rock.
Cain seemed to take solace in that before he curled himself into a ball. He was probably bracing for impact...
Contrary to what one would expect though, no splashing sounds rang out. Rather, after hitting the murky water looking thing it made multiple crisp 'CRACK' sounds before shattering like glass!
Their descent created a hole which they moved straight through then their descent continued! Now however, this venue was much different. The murky glass like layer above them completely covered this place putting it in total darkness. But, the brightness of the previous place was also strange after all they were underground...
Cain uncurled his body as he continued to descend. He tried too look around him but the whole place was basically covered in darkness. All he could see was the falling figure of the shirtless Thor and that was thanks to the hole they created through the glass layer. It now acted as a spot light.
Cain turned in Thor's direction...or he tried to but he obviously couldn't , he was in mid air.
After his failed attempt, Cain opened his mouth and asked "Where are we going!" The crazy winds didn't do much to help him but Thor was still able to hear.
"Ha ha ha, probably to see the giants!" Thor replied with a laugh.
"What??!" Cain asked. It wasn't clear if he hadn't heard what Thor said, or if he did but he didn't like what he heard.
"Ha ha ha" Thor burst out laughing, before opening his mouth to say "I have no idea!"
Their descent continued for another minute. Now the light from the hole had become so faint that one would say it wasn't even there.
"So...!" Said Thor before continuing "what do you call yourself?!"
Cain heard his question before replying with "Cain, Son of Adam."
"Alright 'Cain' I'm Thor, Son of Odin."
Immediately he said that, a serious splash sound rang out and both men hit the water. Their landing was abrupt and threw both men completely off guard. It was as though it was reminding them that this was no time for an introduction...
