Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Manager Wang

Wang Joshi, also known as Manager Wang, was a famous man in the Jin sect province. He and his friends Zhang Li, Fang Han, Liu Chen and Zhang Lang, were the first to reach the Final stage of the imperial exam in their village.

Before the exam, Wang was a junior manager who raised the Zhou Chen fashion company, which was a clothing line of the Chen family that had, in the past years, been facing a decline. So many business specialists had tried all they could to revive the clothing line, but they all failed. The head of the Chen family had thought of shutting down the clothing line because of its inability to generate revenue for the family. Wang Joshi was called as a last result by a member of the Chen family elders.

Wang Joshi, to the surprise of the entire Chen family, brought the Zhou Chen fashion company back to life. This achievement raised Wang's status from that of an ordinary scholar to that of a respected manager.

After his big win with the Chen family business, which he was paid heavily for, owners of dying businesses sort to employ his service and this soon made Wang a well-known man among the rich and wealthy.

He later brought his wife Fu Joshi and the rest of his family from the village to the town where he had established his own business, which was a pastry shop.

Shortly after this success, the fifth stage of the imperial exam, which would take Manager Wang one step closer to becoming an imperial official, arrived. Wang Joshi sat for it and came back victorious once more.
