Chapter 1 - A New Chapter In Life

"Hmph. Discarding 3."

"And that concludes the current round! I am your host, Gigaroh! Bringing about commentary to the unordinary as we countdown the birth of the first 'Super Universe!' For those of you who are just tuning in, you are witnessing the most epic event in the history of existence being decided over an intense game of cards! Sitting at the table right now, surrounded by countless other beings observing from a distance, are 5 people, all waging their claim to fame on... 'something different.'"

Three of their faces are glaring towards a certain direction with malice at somebody else at the table. That same somebody has a great advantage with no intention of masking it. He winks at the other 4, hoping to further incite their internal turmoil. The last person, indifferent to all, starts his turn, but also opens his mouth.

"Hooligan. Are you cheating?" The sharp pitch black eyes stare into the deep abyss of Hooligan's mischievous bright yellow ones.

Hooligan laughs heartily before clicking his tongue and grinning.

"Ah, my dear, dear, Lancaster. With everyone observing us, both close and far, how could I cheat? Where could I possibly find the time..." his voice deepens as the look in his eyes becomes more lethal and fierce. "Just because I want the rights to this universe more than any of the rest of you doesn't mean I'd stoop so low." For a brief moment, Lancaster's eyes lose their sharp edge and look apologetic; then they revert to their previous stone cold gaze.

"I can tell that you are spewing the truth... this time around. However..." he sweatdrops after viewing the 3 remaining participants, "I doubt they feel the same way."

"That's because that guy never knows how to do anything fairly!" interjects a woman whose hair is on fire.

"That guy tricked the moon into causing a 7-day-long solar eclipse in my universe. Even if he wins, I will never lend him my aid!" adds a masked man wearing a tuxedo.

"Aww! Not even if I go through the proper channels? What ever shall I do?" Hooligan mock whimpers.

"You! I wo--" A loud *thud!* then captures everyone's attention. A hugely muscled man walked away after tossing his cards on the table.

He had made sure everyone saw him out the door with their eyes before saying, "I, Helix Garmund, can swear upon my honor that Hooligan is not cheating. Admittedly... I know of such things because I was." A great amount of gasping and shock could be sensed across the domain.

"It appears Helix has fled the battlefield-- I mean forfeited his chance despite none of us even noticing he was cheating!" the announcer corrects himself mid speech after ducking beneath a series of weapons.

"Fuck it. We should bail too if the guy who saw the future left, my twin sister."

"... are we seriously going to allow the influence of the next universe to be born be affected by 2 of the most dangerous beings in existence? I only need to beat 1 of them. 1!"

"Tee, Hee..." Lancaster's eyes fully focus on the twins; both of them begin shaking uncontrollably in place. " I care not what you say about this sore loser that joined me for this competition. But I should warn you..." he pauses to test if anybody would stop him; everyone diverts their eyes, except the man scooting his chair next to him while snickering (to his annoyance). "Do not think for a second that your ill will towards me has gone unnoticed." The twins both drop their cards and run out the door. Many of the onlookers understood the unspoken threat and also ran out the door afterward.

"So uh... Hooligan and Lancaster win by default?" An unsure Gigaroh questions on his mic. After a moment of silence, a bold voice from a tall, golden-colored man filled the air.

"You 2... actually did it. You both endured until the end. Hooligan, Lancaster. Is it okay if I ask you both a question?" Lancaster waves it off, signaling Hooligan to speak.

"Go ahead, chump."

Did he really just call me... forget it, I need to make sure humanity will survive in this world and something... weird doesn't get born instead.

"What will be the basis behind your universe? I mean you 2 are kind of night and day in your roles."

Hooligan's smile widens, instilling a feeling of terror in the man.

"There is a common ground, actually. We both enjoy death--"

"What Hooligan means to say is that we both bring about necessary change to all universes. We want to experience what it is like to directly help humanity, even if just this once," Lancaster interrupts while covering Hooligan's mouth.

"This time, the humans born in this universe will be strong as hell itself."
