A burst of silver smoke exploded around them.
Alyssane inhaled sharply, her hand grasping at empty air. With a thud, she hit the hard ground.
'What just happened?'
Confused and disoriented, she hastily rose, the smoke cleared slowly and her bewildered gaze shifted around the alley.

The stranger had vanished without a trace. Fear coiled in her stomach, getting worse by the second. 'Was that a magician...?
She was not sure what to believe, Alyssane placed a shaky hand on her forehead, and soon a more chilling realization settled in her heart.
Alyssane stared down at her trembling hands, her entire body had felt cold since the moment she went against that man.
