Dominick's POV
"Thank you, Maria, breakfast was great. I've certainly missed your cooking," I nodded, savoring the taste of the delicious porridge stew.
"Thank you, boss, I'm glad you loved it," Maria replied with a smile, but her eyes shifted to Selene, who was sitting beside me. Maria and Nina had never truly liked Selene; they actually preferred Sol.
Selene had tried to convince me to fire them, but I had quickly shut it down. Maria was like a mother to me, especially since I lost my actual mother when I was just 5 years old, to cancer. Ever since then, she's been there for me.
I'm sure Maria would have preferred my wife to be the one sitting here with me rather than Selene. My eyes went up the stairs, curious. I had been expecting Luna to come down for breakfast, but she hadn't shown up, thankfully. I was still so pissed about yesterday. I knew it wasn't her fault, but seeing Damian near her just fueled the rage within me.
