CHAPTER 18
After eating, Jin Tong continued to give them a tour around the outer school. Jin Tong also said that the outer school is also called as the outer city since the whole academy was similar as a city.
Out of curiosity, Xie asked something…
"Teacher Ma, what is someone reaches a bottleneck and needs to hunt soul beast for the next ring, will they be grant a pass to go outside?" Xie asked. Jin Tong smiled to Xie's question as he did not expect this kind of question.
"Good question! Actually it is a both yes and no answer." Jing Tong answered. Then the two kids gave him a what-do-you-mean look.
"Yes, because they will need to hunt a soul beast outside, and no, because it is not really on the outside world. Here, everyone who reached their bottleneck will be given a permission to enter the 'Forest of Eden'. That forest was created by many powerhouses of the academy. It is a special place made inside space. The soul beasts inside are aged from a millennium to decade-millennium beast." Jin Tong explained.
The two kids only nodded in awe, they could not believe that there will be a special space for the students to hunt their rings.
"But, the teachers can only help students hunt soul beasts if it is for their first ring, if it's not, students should create a party that will help him or her in the hunt." Jin Tong added. "However, Xie, you are a special case. As a reward for ranking first in the admission, the Dean of the outer school will personally assists you in the hunt for your second ring. I cannot wait to find out what kind of soul beast will the Dean help you get." Jin Tong giggled.
Currently, Xie is already at the peak of level 14 while Bing Chuan just reached level 11. Xie was able to reach the peak level 14 because of the soul and spirit energy lingering in the environment of the outer city. According Xiao and Er Xie, the soul and spirit energy is much more thicker in the location of the inner school.
Using Xie's eyes, he examine the environment and noticed that no one was able to absorb the soul and spirit energy in the area. I short, Xie will be able to absorb this power all for himself. Er Xie also reminded him not to absorb too much, the powerhouses already noticed that someone in the outer school was able to absorb the energy. If they noticed that one individual was able to absorb so much more than a genius, they might be a subject for experiment.
They continued to tour in the outer city until dusk. Jin Tong took the kids to the dorm after eating dinner and said their goodbyes.
Upon entering the door, the two of them saw that their batchmates are lined-up in front of the seniors.
"Ohhhh, our top rankers are here." Sarcastically said by one senior.The two greeted the seniors in front of them. With Xiao's teachings before, he was aware that this situation is called bullying. This is commonly done by seniors to their juniors. Xie was calm and composed, through thought communication, he was talking with Bing Chuan. He told him to stay calm and let him handle the situation.
"I'm sorry seniors if we are late, this will be the last time that this will happen, I hope seniors have a magnanimous heart." Bowed and said. Xie does not plan to retaliate now, he plans to perform averagely with the next dorm battles and move up to rank 1 in a month. With the energy that only he can absorb, reaching the 2nd ring in a month is possible, with that he can claim the top spot in the dorm.
The seniors show a grin on their face and said something…
"Since you are the top ranker, you represent your whole batch, but since you know your mistake, we can forgive you, but you must be punished." One senior said. The other 8 kids are shocked by this.
"You juniors must run 5 times around the dorm and you will be forgiven." The one senior that gave him a deadly stare earlier said, seems like he is the current rank one, the level 29, 4th year senior. The kids complained and said that it was Xie and Bing Chuan's fault but why are they also included. One senior shouted that if they hear more complain, they will double the times that they need to run, so they all ran outside to complete the punishment.
Xie and Bing Chuan are having it easy, Bing Chuan was amazed by this. They always play running when they were still at the Dark Star Town but he always ran out of breath after few minutes but now, he was still breathing at ease even after running for 5 minutes and they have finished 3 laps now.
The other kids only finished 1 lap and they are already lying on the ground. The seniors are not shocked when they saw the juniors on the ground as they also experienced this but what makes them shocked is the stamina of the top rankers.
After finishing the 5 laps, Xie stood in front of the seniors and said…
"Seniors, if you allow, let us complete the remaining laps that our batchmates left." Then Xie bow. This makes the seniors more flabbergasted.
"All eight of them still has 4 laps to go, that will be a total of 32, which makes 16 laps for each of you!" The rank one said. Then, they continue to run around the dorm. The dorm is a 4x250m big which is 1km in total. If they total everything, they have already ran 5km plus the 16km each, which totals 31km.
The seniors are shocked that they completed the 31km run and they are still breathing steadily, even them seniors, running 20km makes them ran out of breath when they are still 1st years.
Inside the floating island, some councils are eagerly watching the performance of the top 1 and 2 rankers. Even them could not believe what they have just witnessed. Among the things that made them shocked, the fact that Xie was able to absorb the energy in the outside school tops everything. Unless one is really sensitive to his surroundings, no one will notice the energy.
