The cold air followed by the fierce strikes of his kakugan. Every step taken cleared the ground more and more and the speed of those steps caused the snow to turn to a powder. Kakugans sound just like normal weapons when they collide, so right now it sounds like a medieval battle ground.
When he said he was worth two men I figured that was just him being overconfident but in reality, he was telling the truth. The confidence in each step, the power in his arms, the fearlessness he showed. It is completely overwhelming us.
Me and Luke should be on the offense since it's two on one, but this guy had put us on the defense multiple times. . . Even with that though, I can't let him brake my confidence. We will win this fight, even though he has more experience, more power, and he's faster. . . I'm starting to see his openings.
The snow kicked out from under my feet as I went in for a slash. The man blocked it and jumped back. Luke is waiting for him though.
Luke's battle axe wasn't vary long so he had to get close, this guy new that and often tried to keep him at a distance since he had long Katana like swords. Luke appeared behind him swinging his axe for the center of the mans back. The man was still focused on me as I closed the distance.
Quicker than either of us could react, he spun around and swung his left sword up through the snow causing it to hide his strike and to blind Luke. Shit I can't get their in time.
Luke took a step back barely causing the blade to miss his arm but it caught the underside of the axe. Ripping it from his grip, Luke now had no weapon and couldn't defend. But I'm here now.
I swung my sword for center mass attempting to split his shoulders from the rest of his body. I saw his right eye locate me but I was already in the process of swinging and even with how fast he is, he can't react this time.
That dame resistance, like what Burke had, it was slowing down my blade the closer I got, like layers of ice. Burke told me if I felt that I should back off but if I do Luke would most likely be killed. . . I have to push through.
Like before as my blade broke through, at the last second he flipped over me, but this isn't sparring. As he flipped he took his right blade a swiped it up at Luke. The sound of cloth ripping left me horrified at the sight I mite see once the snow leaves my eyes.. . .
More, that same sound of cloth ripping but from behind me. . . Shit! Am I hit, I don't feel any pain. Also what about Luke. . . I quickly wiped the snow from my eyes and found Luke crouching on one knee.
" Luke!" I don't see any blood.
" I'm fine. . . Sho!"
Behind me the man was already attacking again. He took both his swords and struck my kakugan . . Dam, how strong is this guy. . . Feels like I'm lifting a truck off the ground.. . . The sound of my kakugan cracking followed by the visible cracks shook my spine. . .It's gonna brake.
Suddenly he pushed off flipping backwards a couple feet before coming to a stop. . . A massive amount of shrine energy, underground. I turned around and saw Luke with both his hand laying flat on the floor.
" Dam, Couldn't you of kept him their a while longer." His breaths were heavy the same as mine, the fighting has been nonstop for at least 3 straight minutes. . . Also how did he expect me to keep him their and what the hell was he doing . . . His shrine maybe.
" . . .Luke. Your cut." Their was a cut up his right shoulder but their seemed to be no blood.
" It's fine. . . The school isn't so cruel as to send us out with no protection. These uniforms are built tough. Not like his armor but still tough. . . Your also cut Sho."
" Huh?" I reached for my back and felt the rough threads of my cut uniform. Feeling them felt like chains on the inside. So that's how the uniforms are made.
The man was standing across from us, he showed no intent of attacking as of now which was good. We can take a second to catch out breath. . . But why is he standing their, he could be tired I guess but he isn't acting like it. He's like examining us, mainly Luke.
" My shrine." Luke began to speak. " It's the shrine for Mother Earth." . . . Mother Earth?
" . . . We really should of discussed all our shrine abilities before hand."
" Yea, you can yell at Vulco for that. . . That's why he's standing back. He's figured it out."
" Is he scared of you?" Kind of seems like it.
" No, but he's cautious. My shrine allows me to manipulate things produce naturally by the earth if my shrine energy has been poured into it. Throughout our battle I've been doing that gradually. . . Where you were standing, I was going to have a rock shoot up like a spike and stab him."
" But he sensed it." Wait, wouldn't that hit me too. " Mother Earth huh. Do animals count as produced naturally."
" Yea, but I don't got a good handle on them yet. The best I can do is have a bird shit on him. . . To bad it's winter and there are no birds."
The sound of snow crunching alerted us of the man quickly approaching.. . . He's slower. Is it because he's wary of Luke. He's making sure he can dodge any sudden attacks from beneath him.
Then, In one step his speed increased in an instant. Like a flash he was right in front of us. I felt the tug on my collar and I began to fall backwards, as I did a massive stone wall erupted from the ground blocking the man and also smacking one of his sword from his grip and landed point down in the snow behind us.
" I see," He spoke from behind the wall. " Are we using our shrines now. . .I'll be happy to play." A puff of black smoke erupted from behind the wall followed by something racing through it on my right.
As he wrapped around the wall he pierced through the smoke. He turned toward me and raised his sword. . . He's left an opening, his waist is completely exposed. I can land a hit before he can block or dodge.
My sword cut with no resistance. . . That was a problem because he's wearing armor. . . The hell, his body blew away with the wind. Then a sound from behind me.
Turning around I saw the man I had just cut in half flying over the wall.. .How the hell did he. . ." Luke!" He was heading for Luke and he still had one of his swords.
Luke had retrieved his axe and was able to block the strike, but in mid air the man flipped positioning his back facing where his other sword was lying. He then did another spin his blade grinding on Luke's axe before landing a kick sending him crashing into the wall. The impact was so great that a piece of the wall fell, smacking the ground before crumbling away.
" Gah" Spit flew from his mouth has he crumpled to the ground.
" Luke!" I ran over kneeling next to him the cold snow soaking me more. Luckily he seemed mostly alright as he slowly raised. Looking over to the other guy. He snatched his sword from the dirt turning back to face us.
" Sho. This is bad." You don't say.
" Don't give up Luke. We can handle him. I'm starting to see-"
" No! This guy. . . He has the shrine of the shadow. . .His movements, his strength, his voice. . . I know him" . . . What?
" What do you mean.?" How does he know him
" He's someone who is marked as one of the most dangerous to us. . . His kill count is in the hundreds"
" . . . You serious"
". . . Hubals' Shadow warrior. . . Buldon, Dunovich!"
