Buldon Dunovich. Hadals shadow warrior. A man who has killed hundreds of people just like Me and Luke, If I were to face reality, I would say this is unwinnable. He obviously has more experience, Is superior in speed, has more strength, and has killed people before. . . Killing a man, that's something I have avoided thinking about till now. I guess I've been scared to think about it. . . I wonder if Luke has killed a man.
" You two are crafty." The man spoke holding both his swords, his voice emerging from the dark abyss within his helmet sounding unhuman. "Though. . . One of you doesn't seem to belong here." I saw his helmet turn slightly in my direction. " This is your first time in battle. . . Freshmen." How does he know. . . No. It's probably easy for him to tell who is inexperienced, even after all that training he can tell I'm a freshmen just by watching me fight.
" Buldon!" Luke called out
" Don't speak my name-."
" Save your breath for your last words." Buldon tried to cut him off but Luke showed no fear and raised his voice cutting into his.
" Ha Ha Ha. . . Me? I've only showed you one of my shrine abilities and your already cowering like sheep running from a shepherd."
Me and Luke were in front of a giant wall which Luke had formed using his shrine. Unfortenently, That wall is what he had just slammed into, now Luke was holding his ribs and breathing heavy. . . The shrine ability that Buldon used created a clone. . . A vary realistic one and tricked me, allowing for him to go after Luke landing a kick on him. . . That's only one of who knows how many abilities he has.
" Sho." Luke turned to me and spoke. . . His voice seems full of pain. " Put some pressure on him. . . I've got a plan." What could he possibly do like this.
" I hate to brake it to you." The mechanical voice rang out again. " I'm about to shatter the plan you have in mind."
A swelling of shrine energy began to form behind the shadow warrior. . . The hell is that. . .Oh Shit!. Two massive hands shot from behind Buldon, they were all dark like a part of his shadow. The pitch black hands crashed into the wall smashing it to pieces as me and Luke rolled away. . . He has two extra hands.
He had one hand going for me and one for Luke. I was taking on Buldon's right hand and Luke taking on his left. We spread out to not allow for both to attack one of us at the same time without Buldon giving one of us an opening.
The shadow hands were easy to disperse. Just one slash and they would go away for a second. . . Only a second though as they would quickly reform and continue swiping and punching. For mere shadows it seemed like they packed a punch, one rose above me and came crashing down, I jumped back causing it to miss but when it hit the ground it left an implant before shooting back up at me.
Swiping at them with my kakugan would cause the shadow to brake apart like swatting at a thick smoke cloud. If I can keep on the defense. . . I'm sure this takes a lot of shrine energy, he can't keep this up for ever.
The hand came shooting at me, it swiped from the right but too high so I ducked it. Then again from below swiping to the left which I easily jumped. . . Then straight at me, I readied my kakugan and went for a swipe. As my sword approached it bent it's self around my blade landing a clean blow that. . . Felt like a punch from Burke.
I collapsed to the ground in an instant. . . The hand raised above me and formed a fist ready to make me one with the snow only red. As it began it's decent, Luke dashed over swiping it out of the sky. The other hand pursued him but Luke smacked that one to his Battle axe cutting straight threw them.
" Lu-Luke." I called to him but the punch I received knocked the wind out of me and he didn't hear. . . I don't like what he's planning.
Luke watched the hands retract and reform in front of Buldon. He shifted his feet and dashed in like an idiot. . . He's gonna get killed!
He raced at them as they shot out. The right hand was slightly in front of the left. Luke slid under it kicking up the snow. The left hand then shot at him but last second he jumped straight over it. The right hand then darted from behind up at him. . .Somehow in mid air, Luke twirled like a gymnast causing the hand to miss.
He landed on the ground on his two feet. . . Even though Buldon's helmet is pitch black in the slit. . . I could tell he was shocked, especially as Luke darted at him. . . Both of his hands were to far to reach in time and Luke had a clear opening.
Luke must of had the same conclusion I did. That he couldn't move while doing this, his hands were his offense and defense. Now that Luke is coming in range he's going to have to recall this ability or else he'll die. . . And what the hell am I doing on the ground. We have a shot!
I rose to my feet and raced towards the action grabbing my kakugan tightly and forcing my lungs to breath even after the hit I took.
Luke raised his Axe and brought it down on top of the shadow warrior. . . Buldon was able to react and jumped to his right last second causing the miss, but I was ready.
His armor is tough, not many places to land a hit. Joints in armor are usually the thinnest, his elbows. . . No he could block that. . . Their!
I took one strong step and with all my mite pushed at him kicking up all the snow under my feet raveling the dead grass. I flipped my grip so the blade was facing up towards my shoulder. . .If he does that ice wall thingy. . . No it won't matter from this angle.
I took my kakugan and positioned it at leg level. . .More like knee level as I slit it across the back of his legs right where the tendon in his knees would be. I saw the blood and I watched his knees buckle.
I slid to a stop past him. . . Human blood is dripping from my sword. . . The smell of iron. I turned to examine my damage to find him still standing.
" No Way!" My thoughts broke into my voice at the sight. . . I could tell he was in pain, he's forcing his body to stand even though the part that allows him to his gone, sliced in half most likely.
" Dam! You-" Before he could finish his sentence Luke landed a kick square on his head. He stumbled backsword and I was sure he would go down but. . . How does he keep standing.
Luke jumped in the air in an attempt to force his axe through Buldon's helmet. . . In mid air. No way to dodge. . . What!
One of the shadow hands shot out and struck Luke right in the gut sending him crashing into the bushes kicking up a pile of wet snow. I looked at Buldon examining his shrine energy to the best of my ability. . . The hell, It's seeping out of him. Pitch black shrine energy.
It was pouring out the bottom of his armor around his feet. He was standing still as it happened his head examining it as it turned the pure white snow. . . I have to move before he's done charging up what ever this is.
I dashed at him a closed distance easily, no resistance. Until. . . I brought my Kakugan up ready to swing, just then a shadow hand shot at me. . . I reacted and was able to bend out the way. Another shot straight at me. I leaped over Buldon, both his swords were dug in the snow. . . Both hands were out of range, I can-
A third shot from the black aura on the ground grabbed my arm and squeezing until I heard a crack. I grunted in pain before it whipped me away.
I bounced of the cold wet ground, some of the dirty snow entering my mouth trying to wipe away the taste of iron I now tasted. My sword dislodged from my grasp. I hit the ground again this time I bounced into the air.
The cold air struck my face, my eyes were shut due to the pain of my arm. Once I opened them I saw a giant shadow racing after me. . . Not a hand though. As it got closer it formed into a blade and whipped down at me striking me along the left shoulder.
Their was pain this time. . . And blood. . . The snow stained in an awful shade of red as it leaked from my wound.
