Chereads / Strongest Police Officer / Chapter 57 - Keeping a low profile

Chapter 57 - Keeping a low profile

_What? Has the world evolved to such an extent?_ Yebou felt puzzled after hearing those words from Sergeant Quaye.

It should be known that as a Deputy Superintendent in his previous life, he was well knowledgeable about the technological state of the police unit.

In fact, because of his outstanding achievements in safety and rescue missions, it got to a time when the commissioner personally delegated to him the duty of approving technology, weapons, and logistics.

Thus, Whenever there was a mission, he was the one who had to approve the number of equipment and weapons needed to be sent out for the operation.

In addition, he was the one who had been writing to the government about the equipment and weaponry state of the police unit

Due to that, he became too familiar with the state of weapons and technology of the police unit.

Therefore, he was finding it difficult to believe what Sergeant Quaye had just said.

"Hahaha! This is just the tip of the iceberg as to what the police force is capable of." Sergeant Quaye boasted grandly when he saw Yebou's puzzled expression.

Unbeknownst to him, the kid in front of him could be said to be the most knowledgeable of the ins and outs of the police unit within the village and its neighboring environs.

"Hahahaha. Ignoring the Sergeant's initial boasting, Yebou laughed and replied, I'll pay a visit so Sergeant Quaye can teach me more about the police."

"Hahahaha! Yes! Yes! You'd be welcome. Sergeant Quaye replied merrily.

"Who's this kid?" "Right! I've not seen him before." Me too. Why is the Sergeant behaving so respectfully towards him? Maybe he's someone influential?"

Murmurings could be heard as the three police officers who had come with Sergeant Quaye discussed among themselves when they saw the respectful way the Sergeant was behaving before the kid.

They were finding it hard to believe that their Sergeant had this kind of attitude in him. They had never seen him acting in this manner before. Not even when he met the ASP.

However, their murmurings weren't able to escape Yebou's ears.

"Cough! Cough!" Hearing the murmurings behind his back, Sergeant Quaye coughed twice but in reality, was signaling his men to act mannerly.

Seeing the awkward moment, Yebou wasted no time as he dived straight into the main topic. "I heard some noise coming from this side so I decided to check it out. I didn't expect to run into you guys here."

"Oh! That? It wasn't anything major. As you can see, we are all fine." Sergeant Quaye lied through his teeth. He was too embarrassed to talk about what exactly happened.

That would only make the kid undermine him.

"Oh okay," Yebou replied coolly when he saw that the Sergeant wasn't willing to share with him what happened. "It might be something confidential." He thought.

"May I know what Mr. Bullet is doing here at this time of the night?" Sergeant Quaye asked feigning ignorance.

From Yebou's actions during the short period they've met and also the time he refused to mention his name when he reported the whereabouts of the gangsters, he could sense that the kid was the type who liked to keep a low profile.

Hence, I'd promise to keep the kid's identity hidden to the best of his abilities.

"Oh me? I came here to perform a task my Grandma had given me but somehow I wasn't able to complete it on time. So I was planning to spend the night here. That was when I heard the noise. Yebou lied with a straight face.

"What about you guys? It's so late! What are you doing here? Besides you guys aren't medicine practitioners. I doubt you all came here in search of herbs. Hahahaha!" Yebou jokingly asked.
