TL NOTES: Starting from this chapter, I would go with the short form for the various Police ranks.
Example:
Lance Corporal = LC
Chief Inspector = CI
Assistant Superintendent of Police = ASP
Deputy Superintendent of Police = DSP
Superintendent of Police = SP
......
Oframasi, Police Headquarters.
......
"What! How is this possible?" Sergeant Quaye stares in disbelief as he plays the video his subordinate has sent him.
From the first time the incident happened, he had been curious to find out who this mysterious person was. Even though he had read the reports Lc. Barcaracks sent him after his investigations with the criminals, but he still finds it unbelievable witnessing the scene with his own eyes.
"How could a kid display this level of speed?" The kind of speed the kid was displaying was so great that he could barely keep in touch with it.
What made it even more unbelievable was that he wasn't just running about, he was taking out his opponents while displaying that high level of speed. His combination of both skills could be said to be perfect.
"I need to see him in person as soon as possible" Sergent Quaye mutters as he stands up.
However, before he could walk out of the door, tin ninni... The telephone on his desk rang. He turns and walks back to pick up the call.
"Hello? This is Sergeant Quaye speaking may I know who is on the line?"
"Sergeant Quaye, this is Inspector Kweku Agyenim speaking.
" Good day, sir! Sergeant Quaye was stunned after hearing the name of the person on the other side. It was unusual for those with subordinate police officer rank to receive calls directly from someone with two ranks above them.
However, he quickly recovered from his shocked state as he saluted per what protocol mandated.
"I just called to inform you that, with the child trafficking case you solved recently, you are being awarded with six recommendation slots." Inspector Kweku Agenim states.
"Come to Asakraka tomorrow to receive the letter of recommendation." Inspector Kwdku continues.
"Six recommendation slots? Sergeant Quaye was baffled. It should be known that a single recommendation slot wasn't something one could get on a silver platter not to talk of six.
"Thank you very much, sir! " Sergeant Quaye replies. With a hint of joy and gratitude in his tone.
After disconnecting from the call, Sergeant Quaye sat in his seat as he processed his information with the Inspector.
"Recommendation slots? I never thought I'd get one so soon." Sergeant Quaye smiles.
Recommendation slots are the easiest way one could get his/her promotion from. It does not involve the writing of tests and hard training one would undertake when preparing for his or her examination.
It should be known that it is extremely difficult to get a recommendation slot as those with higher positions do everything within their means to get the majority of it.
Even though the recommendations bought could only be used once by a person, it does not prevent them from acquiring more since most of them want to develop their forces in the police department.
Let's say 50 recommendation slots are available to police officers in a given year, 40 would be directly acquired by those with the superior ranks leaving just 10 for those with the subordinate ranks.
"Even after taking one for myself and giving Barrack and Becky each, I would still have 3 left." It's a pity it could only be used once. Sergeant Quaye sighs.
The one-man, one-recommendation slot policy was done in such a way that it wouldn't make a group of officers raise their ranks solely in such a manner.
"Okay I'll think over it after I'm done meeting with the kid," Sergeant Quaye says as he walks towards the door, putting the matter at the back of his head.
