Chapter 25 - The Last Laugh Belongs to the Winner

Once the battle erupted, nobody thought of leaving, nor did they consider interfering. The level being used now was something very few possessed, and the clear intent to kill could be seen in each of the ferocious attacks being made.

Powerful orange flames illuminated the sky.

"I'm going to kill you slowly..." Thorian muttered and suddenly disappeared into a curtain of ice without a trace, causing Vilgax to look around.

But he knew Thorian was nearby, so Vilgax waved his hands, and fire spread in both directions at his sides.

Suddenly, countless fire dragons appeared in the sky, engulfing the entire battlefield. The blazing flames warped the entire area with waves of heat. Countless water droplets on the ground were evaporated by the heat.

On the ground, a huge pit was forming, deeper than many would expect, and in an instant, a thunderous roar echoed, and an uncountable number of people were impaled by ice spears shooting out from all directions.

After that, Thorian, hidden among the ice, suddenly roared, and the sky began to darken. Countless gigantic ice spears fell from the sky, as if it were the end of the world, enveloping the area in large ice structures. These spears clashed with the previously summoned fire dragons, and some others fell against some of the nearby cruisers.

This was the first time Thorian had used all his strength in a single attack. Here, everyone witnessed complete mastery over the element of fire.

A truly savage and relentless counterattack.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Vilgax had to move at top speed to evade the falling huge ice spears one after another in his direction.

Thorian knew that this man had killed his mother, so he didn't need to think twice about killing him. Even if he had to die here or face thousands of soldiers, he would do whatever it took to kill this man. This was his current desire. Regardless of the outcome, he would take the life that needed to be taken.

Justice was owed to his parents, who were murdered, and that had nothing to do with the outcome of this battle. All who were his enemies were condemned to death. That was the sentence Thorian would give them all. Even if the world went to hell, Thorian would continue forward until his bones split in half.

Vilgax watched as many of his soldiers were killed in the crossfire, and in the distance, he saw the Water Nation's cruisers retreating. Without understanding what was happening, he wondered one thing: what was happening with this battle?

Seeing how powerful Thorian was, completely ignoring the urgency of his mission, although he was determined to kill the man leading the enemy, he began to wonder if his strength would be enough.

Over the years, the strength in the South of the Fire Nation has been waning. More than fifteen captains had fallen, along with about 20% of the general forces, totaling 6,000 powerful warriors.

All this led to the return of the Crow troops to massacre the villages that had been spared, but after about a year of searching, they found nothing and instead lost soldiers in these treacherous seas due to the climate.

No one had thought that the Water Nation in the South would be so strong and so well-prepared for a new water control system where they only used ice. At this moment, looking at Thorian's power, it was enough to make everyone afraid.

Moreover, now that they had returned the prisoners of the Water Nation, who were very strong and had remained alive all this time, it made them think that the power in the South had reached a point where it could not be controlled.

Even if they wanted to annihilate them, they first needed to find out where they lived and whether a large-scale invasion was optimal. But knowing what had happened in recent years, they would only be providing resources to the Water Nation, and this was not right.

Vilgax knew very well that they would need a force similar to the one they used to kill his brother Draver. With regard to Thorian's relentless attacks, Vilgax had used his fire dragons to hold off some of the attacks heading towards his fleet.

Fire control over ice was a somewhat rare combination to see. Fire attacks were destructive and difficult to defend against. But Thorian, trained to kill these types of foes, knew perfectly well how to face them.

The troops behind Thorian, ordered to retreat to reach the Fire Nation colony as soon as possible, watched as the flames reached them and couldn't help but be surprised.

After that, they all moved their hands to halt the advance of the fire and defend themselves. But before they could retaliate to defend themselves, a wall of ice emerged from the ground, creating an immense divide that concealed the Water Nation fleet. Everyone was surprised to see that Thorian had unleashed an attack with his sword and had caused this effect.

At that moment, a powerful snowstorm unleashed from all directions, and Thorian, with his right hand frozen, stood in front of Vilgax, looking at him with a desire to end his life.

Everyone now felt they were on thin ice. No matter how strong their minds were, they still felt very alarmed to see such a thick and high ice barrier raised by a single person. There was no one as strong in the entire history of the Water Nation as Thorian; at least they had no such knowledge.

Everyone saw that Thorian was clearly on the ground with no water. So, where did he quickly form such a huge ice wall from? At that moment, the snowstorm began to grow more powerful, the cruisers in the distance slowly froze, and the ice Thorian stood on became even thicker. The waves of the sea around them began to grow more powerful, as if it were the end of the world. The sound that came after that was also very powerful.

Thorian's entire appearance had completely changed. Not only was his right hand covered in ice, but his feet were also covered in ice. Most of the clothing on his body had disappeared, leaving only his mask and his shirt. No matter how cold the atmosphere was, it seemed that Thorian had blended with the surroundings.

With a powerful burst, ice spikes pierced dozens of Fire Nation soldiers without them being able to do anything. The only ones left standing were those who weren't afraid. The rest were killed for the slightest mistake.

That wasn't all; the temperature was dropping lower and lower, and the hard ice still emanated a chilling aura, becoming stronger and stronger, as if there were no limits.

Anyone who knew a little about the elements would know that the concept of water turning into ice had to do with the density of the molecules coming closer together. At the same time, the size would be hidden if the volume were small, and the change wouldn't be too obvious.

But given the size of the ice attacks that could be unleashed and everything suddenly turning into ice, the pressure must have been unimaginable. Many of those who were caught only gritted their teeth, resisting the pressure on their bodies.

At this moment, it wasn't that no one had the ability to break the ice around them and escape. But the main problem was that the violent explosive effects when using fire from within would affect the people around them due to these ice spikes turning into flying daggers in all directions. In that situation, the wounds they would have would be very severe.

Finally, many began to panic when Vilgax's fire control was being suppressed by the ice. Everyone finally knew they had to move and support their commander, or they would die.
