Chapter 50 - "We have poked a hole in the sky, haven't we?"

This group of hooligans, despite being well-trained, were completely defenseless in front of the fully armed special police. Some who attempted to flee were directly shot down, while others who tried to resist with weapons had their wrists broken. In the blink of an eye, hundreds of them were either writhing on the ground in pain or being restrained and handcuffed.

A special police captain, dressed in combat gear, approached Zhang Zhili and said, "You must be Mr. Zhang, right? We received the call and rushed here immediately. I hope we're not too late!" Zhang Zhili smiled and replied, "Not at all, just in time!"

"Do you have any other requests, Mr. Zhang?" the special police captain asked with a tone of goodwill and inquiry. "Can they be taken into the task force?" Zhang Zhili asked. "Of course. I guarantee they won't have any contact with outsiders until the case is closed!" the special police captain affirmed.

The group of thugs lying on the ground, including Liu Kui, were shocked to their cores. These special police had descended upon them out of nowhere, clearly without any prior warning, even catching their boss off guard. Liu Kui felt a creeping sense of unease; they had the backing of their boss on the streets, but they never expected to encounter special police who would take them down so decisively. Some even saw special police aiming rifles at their heads.

Liu Kui looked at Zhang Zhili, feeling incredulous. In their investigations, Zhang Zhili was just a minor figure, someone who had some skills and had connections with Huang Wuye, but ultimately, he was just a nobody. Yet today, the scale of this operation surpassed even what Huang Wuye could manage. How did Zhang Zhili pull this off?

Tang Dapeng and his son Tang Huaixing were also shocked as they looked at Zhang Zhili. Their expectations for police intervention were modest, perhaps a few ordinary officers to scare them off, with no guarantee of anyone being arrested. Who would have thought the situation would escalate to this extent? Zhang Zhili looked at Liu Kui and immediately lifted him up. "You're responsible for the damage to these twenty acres of land! Otherwise, I'll add another 'disability package' for you!" Liu Kui pleaded, "Please, no!" He could see clearly that when Zhang Zhili mentioned the 'disability package,' the special police captain averted his gaze. Liu Kui knew exactly what that meant—if Zhang Zhili acted, everyone would claim they didn't see a thing. "I'll compensate!" Liu Kui hurriedly said.

"Twenty acres of land, two million in damages! Pay up immediately, double the amount!" Zhang Zhili said sternly. Tang Dapeng was taken aback. The most they would have lost from the destruction of a dozen or so acres of land would be a few hundred thousand. Now, Zhang Zhili was demanding several times that amount, right in front of the police. Wasn't this blatant extortion? However, the next moment, the special police captain nodded in agreement. "Damaging the property of the people warrants compensation!" Liu Kui was dumbfounded. He instinctively said, "I-I don't have that much money! It was Boss Leopard, he sent us here, you should ask him for compensation..." But the next moment, he was violently thrown to the ground by Zhang Zhili, with his foot pressing down on Liu Kui's hand. "How dare you come here without money?" Zhang Zhili exerted full force with his foot, causing Liu Kui's hand to be crushed to a pulp.

Liu Kui writhed in agony, his forehead dripping with cold sweat, his screams echoing eerily across the fields. "I-I can find a way!" Liu Kui's voice trembled. But Zhang Zhili sneered and once again stepped on his arm. "Find a way? Don't play games with me!" The flesh of Liu Kui's arm visibly deformed, one end crushed into mud while the other pierced through the flesh, oozing blood. Tang Huaixing and Tang Ming exchanged a glance, both seeing the horror in each other's eyes. Zhang Zhili was indeed a ruthless character. Liu Kui cried out in pain, pleading to the special police captain, "He—he's deliberately injuring me!" But the captain just disdainfully glanced at Liu Kui. "I didn't see anything. You scum of society, when you bully the innocent, you don't wear this face!" "When you destroyed someone else's land, did you think about the law?" With those words, Liu Kui was utterly hopeless. He felt that if he resisted, Zhang Zhili would cripple him in every possible way.

Liu Kui remembered the high-interest loans he had arranged for Boss Leopard before, still sitting in his account. He quickly used his remaining hand to pull out his phone. "I'll transfer, I'll compensate!" Zhang Zhili asked Tang Dapeng for his bank card number and soon received four million.

"Is it necessary to write a compensation agreement for this?" Zhang Zhili asked the special police captain. The captain nodded in understanding. "Of course, one must be thorough in matters of compensation. Everything will proceed according to protocol!" Zhang Zhili nodded. "Then we won't disturb your work anymore! Later, when I return to the city, I'll personally come

The special police captain understood, nodded, waved his hand, signaling for all to be arrested and the operation to conclude.

Soon, everyone was taken away, leaving only the Tang family behind.

Tang Dapeng couldn't help but ask, "Who is this 'Leopard' character?" Zhang Zhili smiled faintly, "You don't need to worry about that, I'll handle it." Tang Huaiqing was unsure of Zhang Zhili's depth and asked, "How did you manage to summon the special police?" Tang Ming was also visibly curious; they had called the anti-crime hotline for so long without any police response, yet Zhang Zhili was able to summon such cooperative special police directly!

Zhang Zhili glanced at Tang Huaiqing with a smirk. "You guys knocked on the wrong door, didn't you? What connections do you have?" Tang Huaiqing pursued, "I called the anti-crime hotline! They said there would be rewards for reporting!" Zhang Zhili sounded convincing.

Tang Huaiqing and Tang Ming were both dumbfounded! They thought Zhang Zhili had connections with some big shot! But it turned out to be this? Why didn't they think of calling the hotline?

Zhang Zhili couldn't be bothered to explain further. He understood the rules of seeking help; you couldn't expose people openly.

The expressions on Tang Huaiqing and Tang Ming's faces became complicated again. They regretted involving Zhang Zhili. But upon hearing that Zhang Zhili had no backing, they breathed a sigh of relief. Tang Dapeng wanted to offer Zhang Zhili a stake in their medicinal herb plantation, but that was something they absolutely couldn't agree to. Only Tang Dapeng didn't ask too much and hurriedly reassured the workers, arranging for the restoration of the herbal fields.

With everything settled, Tang Dapeng seemed a bit weary as he said, "Let's go back."

On the way back, Zhang Zhili drove with only his son-in-law in the car.

Tang Dapeng finally spoke up, "I just inquired, this 'Leopard' might be even more difficult to deal with than Huang Wuye. How did you offend someone like that?" Zhang Zhili didn't hide anything and briefly recounted the events from last night.

Tang Dapeng fell silent for a moment. Just as he was about to speak, Zhang Zhili suddenly shouted, "Fasten your seatbelt!" Tang Dapeng hastily pulled over the seatbelt as he caught a glimpse in the rearview mirror of a black jeep accelerating towards them. His face turned pale in an instant!

It was a narrow two-lane road, with one side against the mountain and the other side a steep slope. The black jeep seemed to be overtaking from the opposite lane, but Zhang Zhili clearly felt something was off about the distance.

Sure enough, the next moment, the black jeep violently veered towards Zhang Zhili's car.

Zhang Zhili, already fully focused, didn't hesitate to turn the steering wheel sharply and rammed into the black jeep.

The black jeep was sent careening out of the opposite lane, crashing into the mountainside.

If it weren't for Zhang Zhili's quick reaction, being hit by the jeep would have sent them tumbling down the steep slope, their fate uncertain.

Tang Dapeng was shocked speechless. "Should we go down and check?" Before he could finish his sentence, the jeep adjusted its direction, once again hurtling towards them...
