Chapter 2 - 2.Enter The Outlands

"Ouch" I cried as I fell backwards.

"Yo, buddy. Are you okay?" James asked helping me get up.

"No!" I replied.

For a moment I was so relieved to see James. James Parker, was my friend both of us were from the slums he was a cool dude most girls would vote for him out of the rest of us. He wore googles around his neck, his hair brown spikey haired, blue eyed and a little taller than me. As for the way he dressed he always dressed in military clothes my guess they were his father since he was in a military.

As for the old carnivore man he was still devouring me. I know, I know that sounds serious but luckily for me he was a really old man and he didn't have teeth so nothing really bad happened to me just an old toothless man sucking my leg. James saw what was happening and instead of removing him, he went to the toothless man and kneeled next to him.

"He tastes good, doesn't he?" Talking to the toothless man.

The toothless man looked at him, seemed like he couldn't speak so he grunts with excitement.

"Here, why don't you try his fingers" James takes my hand and feeds him.

Believe me I was confused as you are right now. This is how far I have fallen I was dinner for a toothless man and entertainment to my best friend, James looked up the towers and saw the time.

"Okay enough entertainment for the day, we gotta go" he said.

"Um a little help?" Trying to free my hand which by now was covered in old man saliva.

"Oh yeah" James took out a sandwich. "Here boy" he called out to toothless, he let go of my hand and started jumping up and down the only thing left was a tail and he would have been a complete dog. "Go fetch" James threw the sandwich far away from us and toothless went after it.

Remember my saliva covered hand I don't know what I was thinking when I smelled it, but it smelled like a dead person and don't ask me how I know that. Anyway let's continue.

"You should cut that hand and feed it to the dogs" James joked.

"Ha, ha, ha very funny this is your fault" I pushed him.

"Hey I was feeding the needy, it's not my fault you taste delicious" he replied.

We continued with our journey I didn't know where he was taking me I never actually asked him, all I knew is that wherever he took me I always knew I was going to have fun. There we were in the outlands way far away from the slums I was familiar with the place since most of the times this was our escape because unlike the slums the outlands weren't under 24/7 watch this is where rebels resided their houses were built with strange tech and by that I mean tech they stole from the Salvation.

It was a small place unlike the slums, this is the place where criminals, mercenaries and business men not fancy business men nope. Dirty and corrupt which comes my warning if you are a lady please don't come to this side it's not safe. We entered the market area again you can find anything you ever wanted in here just don't ask where it came from.

Practically I wasn't new here but somehow. James always took me to new places, last week it was a dog fight club, a week before a pub and now we entered in a secret scary alley where all kinds of bad people were found I won't act brave I was scared but I didn't want James to know so I acted calm and smart I walked next to him. We arrived where we were heading it was a dead end of the alley but there was a black door.

Bang! Bang! Bang! James knocked the door opened slightly and then.

"Password?" A rough voice echoed in the dark.

"Magenta and yellow create red the color of a superior being humankind" James replied.

The door opened widely James entered though I was hesitant at first I followed. Inside was all science-y there all kinds of doctors, unregistered of course, as we continued to our destination we passed people being operated on, organs being transported, human limbs in jars and robot limbs.

"Doesn't it look cool?" James asked me.

"Where are we?" I asked back.

"You'll see, come on" James suggested.

I didn't want to ask further even when I had so many questions, even I knew that asking too many questions gets you killed. A young scary girl met us, she was so serious she didn't need to say a word for us to know to follow her.
