The Flame released from clarettes was immense, resembling a firestorm, although it did not cover a large area and while the Flame only spread a few dozen meters around,it did reduced everything within a hundred or so meters to ashes and the Flame rose high enough to penetrate the magic barrier created by 50 elven sorcerers, even reaching above the clouds and dispersing the magical clouds.
Lowering his hands, Malgath, despite his high pain tolerance, experienced intense pain. Observing his gloves, which had turned a bright orange color due to the heat, he noticed that their shape remained unchanged, thanks to them being made of elven steel. He felt his melted skin stuck in his glove, and with each movement of his hand, his skin peeled off.
"Haaahh," Malgath let out a sigh because he knew how bothersome it would be now that his skin was stuck to the glove. He would need to peel off the skin and flesh from his hand to remove the gloves.
Just as Malgath was about to wave his hands around to completely peel off the skin of his, as to just get done with the sharp pain in one go instead of feeling it constantly.
Clarette rushed from inside the firestorm with flame wings behind her, her armor melting off her body. With every step, the ground beneath her melted, and her hair completely transformed into flame, rising upwards. Her limbs appeared to be made of flames, and her sword now glowed bright yellow from the intense heat. She seemed to have entered a berserker state, with her magic power doubled.
Lifting her sword, Clarette swung at Malgath's chest. He raised his hand to block it, but he was slower than Clarette. She was able to penetrate his armor and slash his chest, causing a huge wound to appear and sending him backwards.
Blood gushed out from Malgath's wound but vaporized the moment it left his eternal shield, while the wound on his chest made sizzling sounds, like flesh being cooked while boiling blood came out of it. It was because of the heat from Clarette's sword.
Slamming against something in mid-air, Malgath spat out blood, ignoring the pain. He hurriedly got up and called for his sword. He knew he couldn't waste any time, as Clarette was already approaching him.
[Meanwhile]
"RELEASE THIS BARRIER RIGHT NOW, FAIRY QUEEN, OR YOU WILL FACE MY WRATH!" Sylvanas yelled as she frantically shot arrows towards the barrier that was created by Sylianner.
"MALGATH!" Naesala yelled desperately as her hands were furiously bleeding from hitting the barrier with all her might, causing shockwaves with each strike.
"Heh, stop making yourselves look like fools. Your efforts are futile, little elves. None of you will be able to break my barrier," Sylianner said as she looked down at Sylvanas and Naesala, who were attacking the barrier while glaring at her, since they knew that they would never defeat her.
"At least, even if it's the most surprising thing, one of you has some brains." Sylianner looked at Alleria, who stood in front of the barrier, looking at Malgath as tears of blood dripped from her eyes like a waterfall. Then she turned her gaze towards the top of Malgath's head, or more specifically towards the black butterfly with glass wings that was flying above Malgath's head.
"Lift this barrier right now, Fairy Queen. That thing will kill Mirwa. We cannot let that happen. He needs our help," Sylvanas tried to make the Fairy Queen lift the barrier while still attempting to break it with her arrows.
Seeing that Sylianner was still not lifting the barrier, Sylvanas slowly lowered her bow and looked at the Fairy Queen as she bowed her head.
"I'm begging you, Fairy Queen. Lift this barrier. Let me save my precious brother." Sylvanas decided to throw away her dignity as the Princess of the Elves and Ranger General for the sake of her brother, whom she loved more than anything in the realm, more than her mother, sisters, her dignity... herself.
"Please don't make me watch my beloved brother die." Tears streamed down her face as Sylvanas trembled slightly." Please... he is my everything... I can't... I can't lose him, not him. Please, Fairy Queen, take my life, but please, I'm begging you, take me but spare him."
Watching Malgath rise to his feet, with a large amount of his blood spilling onto the ground and getting vaporized immediately, Sylvanas fell to her knees in front of the barrier. Just like Alleria, her tears also turned to blood as she continued to mutter pleas constantly.
"You overdramatic imbeciles, I'm not trying to kill Elvy. I would rather destroy this universe before that happens, and I'm the one who knows Elvy better than anyone. If you idiots were interfering now, you would just take his fun away and make him some weakling that only relies on others," Sylianner said angrily as she pointed at Sylvanas and Naesala. "Thankfully, I'm here to prevent that."
"He needs this; it will make him stronger, stronger than your foolish elves' so-called 'training,' especially that brute's," Sylianner looked at Naesala, who was still pounding on the barrier with bloodshot eyes, causing blood from her hands to splatter everywhere.
"I wish you had it... the beautiful thing called the brain,"shaking her head Sylianner looked at Naesala with pity.
Then, out of nowhere, Sylvanas got up and drew her bow. An arrow formed on the string, but it didn't look majestic or fancy. It just looked like a transparent arrow. Focusing her magic power, Sylvanas poured all of her magic into the arrow. As a result, space began to crack at the tip of the arrow, while black smoke escaped from the cracks occasionally.
"Elvy is okay. He will not die, so stop what you're doing right now, you idiot. Using void's power recklessly like that will cost you things you will never get back," becoming highly alert, Sylianner warned Sylvanas upon seeing her actions. She began to gather her own magic power to prevent Sylvanas from firing the arrow.
The move Sylvanas was using, Pierce of Heavens, was something that had been passed down through generations of ranger generals. The previous ranger general,Her Mother, the Elf Queen, was the one who had taught her.
By using all of their magical power, whether it is full or nearly empty, the caster can create an arrow that opens a temporary channel to the void. The void, the most dangerous place that has ever existed, a place even feared by the gods and Pierce of Heavens borrow its power, but it comes at a cost - the caster's soul will be corrupted with void and that is not the only price that needs to be paid to use this magic. Sacrificing magical power only allows the caster to call upon the void's power, not actually use it. To actually shoot the arrow with its power, one must sacrifice centuries of their life force.
Sylvanas ignored Sylianner and pulled her bowstring taut, her blue eyes now tinged with red.
"Haaahh, since the beginning of time, you stuck-up savages have been nothing but a massive headache." With a sigh, Sylianner began to channel her magic power, closing the space cracks and severing Sylvanas' connection. It was a piece of cake for a primordial goddess like her.
[Back to the fight]
Getting up, Malgath jumped sideways as he narrowly dodged a fatal blow aimed at his neck. However, he still received another slash on his shoulder deep enough that his bone became visible.
Finally calling his sword back, Malgath tried to deflect another fatal blow to his head from Clartte. She was now flying, thanks to her Flame wings, to match his height.
As Clartte continued to swing her sword, Malgath tried to deflect or dodge her attacks. With Clartte's power and speed significantly increased, he was only able to prevent her attacks from being fatal. However, he was still getting slashed, and wounds appeared on his body. His blood spilled but was vaporized once it left his eternal barrier.
But despite all of his wounds, Malgath had a crazed smile on his face as the glow in his red eyes began to get brighter. He was feeling the excitement and rush he felt when he first sparred with Naesala half a century ago, and this time the excitement and rush felt more real... it felt pure.
Slash after slash, Clartte attacked, and Malgath defended. Clartte's every strike was aimed at Malgath's vital points. Her every attack was made to kill, while Malgath wasn't able to fully dodge them, he at least was able to deflect them from his vital points. With time, his body was covered in more scars than skin. Their fight became more intense and fiercer. The ground was covered in sword marks as deep as hundreds of meters while their strikes became mere sparks and sounds. Their hands moved so fast that to outsiders, it looked like a strange constant battle between a one-armed giant elf and a one-armed winged flying tiny human covered in flames.
While Malgath was fighting against Clarette, Sylvanas, who was outside of the barrier and now covered in magic chains, stood before the barrier without blinking. Tears of blood still streamed down from her eyes. With each scar Malgath received, something inside her awakened or the seed that was planted in her soul was beginning to bloom. Her eyes flashed with a slight red color, and the tears that fell from her eyes made sizzling sounds when they hit the ground.
After a while, the blood spilling from Malgath became less and less, while tiny and faint smoke came out from different parts of Clartte.
Clartte's magic power and stamina were declining over time, causing her to slow down and lose her attack power. Strangely, Malgath got stronger despite also losing magic power and stamina.
With Malgath now having an advantage, their roles were reversed as Malgath decided to completely let go of the defense and focus on offense. As more wounds appeared on her body, Clarette's eyes regained their clarity, and she woke up from a berserker-like state. Meanwhile, her flames began to fade away slowly. Confused, Clarette tried to understand what was going on,her confused state caused her to pause for a moment, giving Malgath a chance to stab her. Clarette felt a sharp pain in her stomach. Looking down, she saw a black sword piercing right through her abdomen, exactly where her magic core is,crippling her magic and weakening her further.
Seeing that his attack was completely successful, Malgath pushed his sword slightly forward, making Clarette look like she was lying down in mid-air. Then he jumped and, with all of his strength, hit the hilt of his sword with the heel of his feet, slamming Clarette to the ground as his sword plunged with her to prevent her from getting up.
Hitting the ground, Clarette coughed up blood as the flames were completely extinguished. Without giving her any time, Malgath stomped his foot onto her face as the ground behind Clarette's head dented.
Malgath stopped his second attack when he saw Clarette pass out from her injuries, as well as from the exhaustion of using her magic and being hit on the head.
Just as he was about to bend down to check Clarette, he heard the sound of glass shattering and his name being called. He turned around and saw his sisters and Naesala rushing towards him with panic and relief on their faces.
"I'm here, Elvy," Sylianner said reassuringly with a sweet, melodic voice, as she gently hugged his face.
Hearing Sylianner's voice, Malgath finally relaxed as the fatigue from the fight and depleting his magic power hit him, using the last of his strength.
"Do not let them kill her," He said to Sylianner, to make sure his sister did not kill Clarette out of anger. Then he fell towards the cloud in front of him that Sylianner created.
