Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 ~ Sleeps with a Teddy!

Sabrina~

------------

Four days had passed and it was finally Friday , the day for Skye's try out.

Ian had been sitting at our table for the whole week and we had been vibing.

He just moved to Willowcreek a few months back with his dad, but he didn't state the reasons for moving and we didn't even ask.

We both had similarities in likes but in some weird way, our minds were structured differently making us argue a lot.

All in all, he was a pretty fun guy.

Though there were times he would just zone out and his face would turn stone cold, replacing his smile with a kind of smolder look...

He was fucking hot.

I wasn't drooling over him anymore nor was I gawking at him or worshipping his looks, but the attraction was still there

The... spark was still there and I really tried my best to control it but I often got lost in those blue orbs.

I wanted to know him, to know about his past

To know why he came off as cold when he was a marshmallow

To know why he never let anyone get too close.

"Hey" Ian said to me and I hit my head on my locker, slightly frightened.

"Oh!"I groaned holding my forehead with my left hand and turning around to glare at him.

He licked his bottom lip before biting them trying to hide a toothy grin but failing miserably as his pearly whites came into light.

Bastard wants to blind me with his fucking teeth.

He started chuckling at my expression and before I knew it, I joined him, giggling a bit before our chuckles turned to a full blown laughter

I shoved him backward a bit by his right shoulder as the laughter died down

"I'm sorry, is it swollen?" He asked reaching to touch my head but I ducked.

"I'm good"I shrugged not wanting him to touch me with the amount of people staring in the hall.

Every girl in the school had been trying to get Ian since he resumed on Monday because... well, he was a hot piece of candy but Ian didn't pay attention to them.

He paid attention to only Skye and I, for some strange reason.

And now, almost all the girls hate me.

They don't even hate Skye because as they put it, 'Everyone likes Skye'.

High school was messed up.

Ian ignored me and held my arms against the locker before using his left hand to graze the top of my forehead brushing my brown locs aside.

I felt tingles in my spine as I closed my eyes before opening them briefly to see him still staring into my eyes.

"Your hair colour is almost the same as your eyes. Gold-brown locs and beautiful gold eyes" he said calmly and I tried to ignore all the voices in my head.

I tried to ignore the fast rate my heart was beating at, I tried to ignore the stares and just focus on him but he averted his gaze and stepped back.

"It isn't swollen, but it is bruised. Do you want me to take you to the nurse?"

"No, it's fine. You wanted to say something?"

"Yeah, shit! We're gonna be late for Skye's try out"

"Fuck!" I widened my eyes grabbing his arm and running to the school field.

It wasn't really a long run but I found myself panting when we got to the stadium.

Ian stared at me with wonder in his eyes like I was a crossbreed with the parents of chicken and cow.

He didn't let go of me as we walked to sit in the bleachers.

When we sat down, I spotted Skye who was dressed in a black cropped top and red short skirt with white knee length socks and pom-poms in her grasp.

I almost choked on my own laughter as I took a picture of her from my seat.

"That would be good for blackmail" Ian smirked, leaning back in his seat and I laughed

"Accurate as fuck"

I waved at my best friend who was looking nervous as hell.

"Skye!" I yelled waving my arms above my head

"She won't hear you Rina, come on" Ian rolled his eyes but I swatted his hand away stopping him from grabbing me. Skye saw me and waved back beaming.

"Cunt. I told you she would see me" I had a satisfied smile plastered on my face and Ian couldn't help but chuckle at my madness.

We had been waiting for Skye to do her tryout but for the past 20 minutes she still hadn't been called out.

I stared down at our hands that were still intertwined.

I stole a glance at Ian's face, he was lost in his world again.

He did that a lot and I was kind of used to it I pulled our hands to my thighs in a weak attempt to wake him up from his daze.

As I saw he didn't react, I began examining his tattoos.

I trailed my fingers on his knuckle tattoos and then the tattoo on his wrist which said, 'Kaela'.

Who was she? His mom? Girlfriend? His middle name?

My thumb brushed the letters softly as Ian stared

"That was my sister's name" he said and I looked up at him, a little frightened.

I did not know he had come out of his daze.

I stayed quiet, not sure if I should've pointed out the 'was' in the sentence

"She died of cancer of the pancreas 2 years ago" he said and I remained quiet staring into his orbs before removing my eyes and brushing the tattoo again

"It's a beautiful name" I muttered not wanting to tell him sorry for your loss cause I knew from past experiences that it doesn't ease your pain at all, most times it increases it.

It brings you back to the place you wished never existed

"It is, isn't it?" He smiled staring at our hands.

"You have so many tattoos, do each of them mean something or do you just do it because you like designing your body?"

"I have six tattoos Sabrina and yes, each of them mean something. This one..." He raised his shirt up a bit, exposing his right rib

"...this is a quote from Albert Einstein. It always sticks and it has changed my life in unspeakable ways" I nodded scared to touch it.

"This is um... a broken heart, because that is what is in my chest, This...." He pointed to the Chinese tattoo on his neck

"This is translated to mean never stop dreaming" I caressed it a bit and he tensed before I retracted my hand.

"There's another one on my abdomen and back, but I can't strip here, love" he winked and I rolled my eyes, smiling.

"Do you have any?" He asked.

"No, I'm not a fan of pain" I shrugged and he smiled nodding.

"So, um... I saw you reading pride and prejudice the other day"

"Yeah, have you read it?"

"Yeah, by Jane Austen and I've also read some Shakespeare books"

"I didn't know you liked literature."

"Yeah, it often comes as a shock to people. I'm an engineering student with Othello, in my grasp" I laughed, as his thumb brushed mine.

I didn't even know why our fingers were stilled laced together but for some reason, I didn't even want him to let go.

"Try an aspiring neurosurgeon reading Macbeth" Ian snorted as we both burst out laughing.

We continued talking about books and literary works and arguing about great poets and Shakespeare's books.

"So what kind of food do you like?" He asked yawning. I was also a bit exhausted and I found myself yawning as well.

"Chicken, fries, pizza..."

"Junks, yeah I get it" he rolled his eyes standing up and pulling me with him

"Where are we going?"

"For a walk, we've literally been here for 2 hours"

"We're amazing friends for real" I praised us and he laughed.

We spoke about our likes and dislikes, best Tv shows, actors, songs, phone brands, subjects, etc. Before jumping to family memories.

Ian didn't really say much and I understood that it was a touchy subject with his sister and all

"...he was such a jerk. But he's in New York now, In his final year in college" I concluded beside Ian.

I was telling him one of the memories I shared with my brother Ryan.

"So you actually crushed on your brother's best friend?" He asked slightly amused.

It seemed like any and everything I said was always amusing to him.

"Yeah, he was hot" I said bluntly and Ian pulled me to his front, holding my waist with his right hand and not releasing his left from my grasp.

"Hotter than me?" He asked and my gaze widened.

"I... uhmmm... you..." I was digging my brain for words but I couldn't find any.

He brought his face to my ear and I nearly melted

"Was he hotter than me?" He asked again and I pulled back shaking my head 'no'.

"Say it Sabrina."

"No" it was barely a whisper, but I got it out one way or another.

He smiled. "Let's go find Skye"

---

"You guys! Where have you been?"

"We were in the bleachers for like 2 hours, what the hell Skye?" I almost yelled.

"Chill bitch, I already did my tryout but you were probably too busy with your nerd love or whatever" I glared at her and Ian smiled.

------------------------

"This Mac and cheese is so good Ian" Skye said as she grabbed on her plate.

Ian nodded once taking another spoon into his mouth.

Ah, Mondays!

The best day of the week, where everything is sunshine and... ugh!!

Damn! I can't even write that with a straight face.

I hated Mondays, so bad.

Aside from the fact that it was the beginning of a new school week, I hated it because it was the day Mac and cheese was served in the cafeteria and me being the bitch I was, was allergic to cheese so I had to eat vegetarian sandwiches.

Sometimes, I just wanted to burn this high school down.

"Rina, you sure you don't want a bite?" Skye smirked and I shrugged, rolling my eyes.

"Not a fan of Mac and cheese?" Ian asked

"I'm allergic to cheese" How pathetic does that even sound?!

"You're lactose intolerant?" His brows raised and I nodded.

"I feel like I learn something new about you everyday" he smiled.

"You have no idea. This bitch is full of surprises. I found out she still sleeps with a Teddy last night" Skye half whispered and I tensed.

She did not just say that.

I loved the bitch I was glaring at, but sometimes that was all she was - a bitch.

I really couldn't believe she said that... and in front of Ian.

I scoffed leaving the table, clearly upset but when I was a few feet from the door, someone touched me.

I didn't even have to turn to know who.

I could spot him in a crowd of millions and I could smell him out in a gathering of hundreds.

He was the only one who sent electricity through my spine like that with only one brief contact of the skin.

I turned to look at Ian.

"Where are you going?" He asked calmly and I stared at the floor.

There was not a doubt that he would make fun of me just like Skye.

"To get some air"

"You didn't finish your food" he said again, holding my hand and my eyes scanned the room, noticing the eyes that were on us.

"I'm not that hungry" I said still avoiding his inquisitive yes.

Ian tilted my chin up so that my gaze could rest on him.

"Is it what Skye said?" He asked and my eyes darted away from his.

I almost fucking told him yes!

What spell did he cast on me?

Murmurs could be heard now and my heart felt like it was going to burst.

For real!

Ian leaned closer to my ear and whispered,

"let's leave" before leading me out of the dining hall.

We got to the lockers and then entered an empty class

"Ian what...?"

"You don't need to be embarrassed because you sleep with a Teddy bear Sabrina"

"I'm not. I just didn't think it was necessary for everyone to know"

"You don't like that she told me? Aren't we friends? Don't you trust me?"

"No... I mean, I do. But let's be real Ian, how many 17year old girls sleep with a fucking teddy bear?"

"I sleep with a blanket from my childhood. A little blankie" Ian admitted and I choked on my spit and soon started coughing.

Ian's lips tilted up as he patted my back.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to almost kill you"

"I just can't believe it" I sighed and he nodded.

"Well, it's true. Now let's go meet Skye"

"Okay" I smiled.

Call me crazy but Ian was a human like the rest of us, not some god, can you believe that?!

He sleeps with a fucking blankie? That was so cute!

I really wanted to see it. I didn't mean I wanted to sleep with him or anything...

Or did you?

Ugh!

We sat down at our table again and Skye rolled her eyes at me

"Dramatic much?" I threw a sandwich at her and Ian smiled sitting next to me.

"You guys were so entertaining to watch even if I couldn't hear shit that y'all were saying. Everyone in the hall was watching. Tell me the truth Ian, I know we just met like last week but... are you in love with Sabrina?" Skye asked and I choked on my Pepsi.

The fuck?!

Ian patted my back gently

"What's up with you and choking on things?" He raised a brow and Skye's eyes widened.

That bitch probably thought he was talking about...

"Choking on things?" She smirked with wide eyes.

Ian laughed

"No, I was referring to earlier on. She choked on her spit so I was kind of relating it with this. You have dirty thoughts Skye"

"Can never be too sure what people are saying these days" she laughed and I smiled

Immediately, Kiara walked to our table.

"Skye"

"Hey baby girl" Skye smiled and Kiara waved at Ian.

I guess my cloak of invisibility was on again.

Ian ignored her and took a bite of my sandwich.

"How are you guys? Who's this?"

"Oh, this is Ian, he was just enrolled last week"

"Cool. Hi Ian, my name's Kiara" she stretched out her hand.

"Hi" Ian spoke briefly shaking her hand and then retracting his fingers.

"Well Skye, I wanted to invite you over to our table but lunch is almost over. You can sit with us tomorrow though if you'd like. The boys are complaining about how much they miss you" Kiara said flipping her perfect hair to the side.

"I never thought I'd see the day those wolves would miss me. Okay then, I'll for sure sit with you guys tomorrow"

"Cool, and you can bring Ian and Selena too. Hey Selena, didn't see you earlier"

Of course you didn't, you were you busy checking out hot boy Ian. Hoe

I shrugged as a reply instead.

"It's Sabrina" Ian said staring at Kiara who smiled.

"My apologies. I'll be expecting you guys tomorrow. Bye" she said before leaving.

I sighed realizing that Ian didn't answer Skye's question about loving me.

But let's be for real, if he did, the answer would hurt me because there was no way Ian Brown would fall for a nerd.
