On the bronze ground, a small creature about twenty centimeters tall, covered in soft fur, with a pair of wings resembling those of a bat, and a head strikingly similar to a squirrel, blinked its eyes curiously as it gazed at Carson Flores.
A false alarm.
In that instant, Carson had felt the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. As he turned his head, he had imagined all sorts of ferocious scenarios...
"Cheep cheep!"
The little creature gave two soft calls towards Carson, its voice tender and cute.
Curiosity grew in Carson's heart. How could such a dumbly cute little creature be here?
The doors of the hall were open. Had it wandered in from the nearby wilderness?
Carson looked it over a few times and then paid it no more mind. After all, it was common for small animals in the wild to seek shelter in uninhabited buildings from the wind and rain, wasn't it?
But if this little creature could survive inside, were there really no terrifying fierce beasts around?
