Carson's heart tightened, "Does that mean consumption? Afterward, will he still be himself?"
Benson shook his head, "It's hard to say. Fusion is not exactly consumption. It's actually the merging of two sets of memories, two personalities, into one. The past isn't forgotten; everything remains. But as for what the final fused personality will be, whether one will dominate or if a completely new personality will emerge, that's something we just can't know."
Carson frowned, "The Heart of the Demon Emperor is so powerful, I'm afraid my dad won't be able to withstand it."
Benson shook his head again, "That's not necessarily the case. No matter how strong the Demon Emperor's Will might be, it's still just that—a will. Your dad's body, his soul, they are a perfect closed loop. As long as your dad remains determined, even the Demon Emperor's Will might not overcome him."
