A man swiftly dashed up the staircase, but after only advancing five steps, his body seemed to be swept up by a fierce wind. He screamed in agony, was thrown backwards, and landed dozens of meters away, crashing to the ground in disarray, his clothes in shambles and his face the picture of distress.
He wasn't the only one; many who attempted to ascend the stairs met the same fate.
Suddenly, the area in front of the White Jade Platform was a chaotic flurry of figures and continuous screams.
Bryant James sat in the main seat atop the White Jade Platform and said indifferently, "This White Jade Platform is a small trinket from Kahdas used to test disciples' strength and talent. With each step you take, the pressure you bear will increase. If your strength is below Nascent Soul and you are not particularly gifted, then refrain from trying."
With that explanation from Bryant James, everyone suddenly understood.
