"Wah wah..."
The door had just opened when Carson heard the cry of a child, a heart-wrenching shriek.
Inside the room, a child a little over one year old lay on the sofa, crying and writhing, his little face beet-red as if engorged with blood, an abnormal sight.
An older man in his fifties was examining the child, while a beautiful young woman with red eyes—presumably the child's mother—stood by, watching anxiously.
Leonard Reid sat in a nearby chair, his face cold, his eyes harboring an unexpressed anger.
Upon seeing the two enter, Leonard stood up: "Doctor Ward, Raphael is conducting an examination. Afterwards, could you please take a look as well?"
Raphael?
Was this older man the renowned physician Raphael Schneider who was at odds with Vincent Ward?
Vincent nodded without a word.
He had come today to repay a favor from many years ago; even if it meant swallowing some pride, he had to endure it.
