"Yeah, that's it, run through the cones, Uh-huh." The coach said as we ran through some cones in the field.
"You guys are kinda slow." He said walking towards us.
"20 laps, now!"
"Yes sir." We said running out.
"Hey, they're at it again."
"Seems like their coach is really tough, they might die before Christmas." A girl said laughing with some other girls.
"Tch💢, I'm gonna kill those bastards." Kimishita said angrily.
"Don't mind, don't mind." Akaji said smiling.
"I'm really tired." Yamazake Akane said.
"Me too." Hayashi said panting.
"Hey." Ueta called.
"Sup'"
"How's your head?" She asked.
"It doesn't hurt anymore." I answered.
"You sure?"
"Yeah."
"Cool then." She said smiling.
I could feel the others staring daggers at me.
Well, they would, she's really cute and we stay together, in one room, our own personal space. Anyone would think we made out in the dark, was totally the vibe I was getting from them.
Then, I smirked, it wasn't purposely, I just found myself doing it.
💢💢💢
"Okay good, now, let's go over to shooting. We'll pick our corner kick takers, free-kick takers and penalty takers." The coach said.
"Okay."
"Watabe, Try shooting from the right corner."
"With all pleasure." He said carrying the ball with him.
"You guys, position yourselves." He said as we walked towards the post.
"Saitō, take the post."
"Yes sir."
Watabe placed the ball in a marked space and kicked it, not too high and not too low. We could easily reach it with our head.
Kimishita jumped and hit the ball low, with his head and it got into the post. The coach wrote something down while looking at us.
"That was nice."
"Let's go again, it seemed easy cause you all were in one team, use the formations you were given yesterday, Team A, Team B. Team A, you are playing against them, okay."
"Yes sir." They said.
We positioned ourselves in a way we could easily mark each other. Watabe sent the ball to us and the ones staying were the ball headed jumped for it, Yamazake and Sugawara. Yamazake was able to hit it first but it went over.
"Okay okay, that's nice."
*Seems like we have our GK."I thought looking at Saitō.
"You guys, go rest for a bit, get back here in 10 minutes." He said looking at his watch.
"Yes sir."
"Whoa, that was tough stuff." Akaji said.
"Yeah."
I picked up a towel to dry my sweat as I saw someone hold a bottle of water out for me.
"Oh, thanks, Kisho." I said collecting it as he rested on the wall which I rested my back against.
"You can call me Akatsuki." He said sipping from his bottle.
"Oh, well then thanks, Akatsuki." I said opening the can and gulping the water down.
*It's the first time he's speaking to me, I wonder what he wants.* I thought.
"Won't you cut your hair, it looks kinda weird now that it's grown out." He said as a chill ran down my spine.
*Weird, huh?* I thought remembering what happened back in my first year of middle school.
"Oh, you look weird as always Oshiba-san."
"Is this how much you love anime? You're even cosplaying, weird."
"Hahaha!"
"Hahaha! You really are weird, O-shi-ba-san."
*Dammit.*
"What I'm trying to say is that it would look better if you tied it backwards. It's really covering your face, and the natural colour's not bad." He said.
"Huh?" I asked looking at him surprised.
"What? Oh, do you like it that way?" He asked.
"N-not really, I planned on cutting it, but I think tying it backwards isn't so bad." I said looking away with a smile.
*I thought he meant it was weird weird.*
"Oh, I can help reduce your bangs, atleast remove them from obstructing your eyes."
"Oh really, thanks man." I said.
"Okay, you've rested enough." The coach said as we walked back into the field.
"It hasn't even been up to 10 minutes." Akatsuki said as I laughed.
"Yeah, I know right." I said as we stood before the coach.
We went over to dribbling, two players each round.
"Looks like we are doing this together." Akatsuki said smiling.
"Yeah, seems so." I said running towards him.
"You won't be getting it from me."
"Don't underestimate me." I said.
"Well, I think I'm ready for this." I said as I sat infront of a mirror in Akatsuki and Saitōs' room.
"Here are my scissors." He said widening it with a smile.
*It's been long since I put my hair back, I wonder how disgusted the others would feel. Would they also think of me as weird?*
*Not like I care either way, most of my classmates did so, eleven more people won't make a difference.*
"Do it, Akatsuki."
"There's no backing out."
*Hmm? Why do I feel like I'm forgetting something important?"
"So, I was totally alone throughout the first term of highschool. I'm happy I came here and no one here knows of my past." He said cutting my bangs.
"Heh..? Seems like you went through a lot back in highschool." I said, my eyes shut.
"I know right, no one tried listening to me, they put the whole blame on me, my elder bro. didn't even try listening to what I had to say." He said.
"Heh...? Seems hard."
"Yeah."
"I totally know of someone like that in my school too." I said as he walked behind me.
"I'm done." He said as I looked up at the mirror.
*Hmm...*
"Whoa, you look good without your bangs." He said tying my hair backwards.
"Heh...? I don't really know, it feels just normal, just without the bangs." I said looking at my face.
"Thanks though. It's cool."
I still had some bangs but they weren't blinding bangs, just normal ones that stayed on both sides of my face and two little ones in the middle. The door opened and Saitō walked in.
"Whoa, who's that." Saitō asked stopping in his tracks.
"Now you're just overreacting." I said standing up.
"I'm gonna have to go prepare dinner."
"Want me to join you?" Akatsuki asked.
"I'm not gonna try to stop you." I said as we walked down the stairs.
"Do you wanna dye your hair?" He asked when we got to the kitchen.
"Nah, I think I'll leave it this way. The natural colour ain't bad." I said whipping some eggs in a bowl.
"Yeah, that sounds just alright. It's cool." He said.
We finished preparing dinner and set the table. The others came down after I sent a message to them.
