(POV Josh)
After the Amazo mission, I haven't been myself lately with how I dealt with SuperBoy.
But I have been improving since Superboy has been training with Canary likely to calm His anger down.
But besides that, my internal questions keep taking over my thinking power like firstly.
'Who was the person to help us?'
'What is The Light planning?'
'And why do I sense someone's been stalking me.'
I meddled with my thoughts until the Teacher took control of the class.
"Attention class we have a new student attending here. Do come in please."
From the door, a beautiful Blonde girl and tan skin walked through the door.
At the sight of her, most of the guys went crazy myself included not because of lust well I'd be lying if I said that.
But mainly because she was.
"Artemis Crock. It's nice to meet you all!"
Artemis spoke a little moody in her greeting but hid it away under some fake enthusiasm which I caught onto.
After she sat down I tried remembering all I knew about her which was just her family being Sportsmaster, Cheshire, and her mother who used to be Huntress.
That was all I really knew about her which I'll rectify after she joins the team later but I should thank her since she was likely the one who saved us back then.
After Artemis was brought to class and introduced herself the day went on normally until school ended.
As I was walking through Gotham walking to a peculiar phone booth located at least five blocks away.
I heard a sound I've been too familiar with. The sounds of screaming people.
As I ran to the source I found a horrendous sight of bodies.
each body had dot-shaped holes inside them. After analyzing the wounds I could tell that the attacks were fast quick enough to hit the target by surprise dealing some damage to it.
After investigating the bodies I radioed Batman telling Him I might be later than planned.
I say this because, after my previous mission, I was told of an upcoming teammate who I assumed to be Artemis.
After radioing Batman and getting the okay. I followed the tracks left by the attacker.
The tracks you ask? We're simple dot-shaped holes all over the walls, floor, and area.
I followed these tracks until I found a man seeming to try not to fall over trying to stabilize himself on a wall.
But once the guy touched the wall a red polka dot left his body and touched the wall leaving a dot-shaped hole.
"Sir, are you alright?"
At my question, the man turned around screaming.
"Go away!"
After being told that the man pointed His hands at me shooting different colored polka dots. I swiftly dodged each dot until the man seemed to of passed out from his own power.
I called the police and alerted them of the metal and after making the call I realized something I didn't hide my face!
I began to panic for what felt like hours which only surmounted to five minutes.
After hearing the incoming sirens I decided I'd figure it out later. Hopefully, the guy would forget me or something. Wish thinking I know but effective nonetheless.
Right before I left though I chained this Polkadot man's hands together finding a peculiar tattoo on his right forearm of a small bat emoji with vampire teeth.
Must be a fan I guess.
After my weird meeting, I left to the phone booth hearing the usual tone of the computer for the Zeta Tube.
"Recognized B'01 Shift"
After entering the cave I was met with the beached out Wally on the ground. Whereupon my entrance I heard an unknown voice.
"So you're the Wallman huh? Love the outfit What exactly are your powers?"
I was confused until I found the source of the voice being Artemis in her hero suit.
It was mainly a long mask covering her face connected to her chest. The mask didn't cover her brown eyes or her mouth.
Besides the outfit having an arrowhead over her chest nothing struck out.
Of course, like any archer, she had a bow and gloves to help with aim.
After hearing Wally's new nickname I gave a small chuckle getting everyone's attention, especially Artemis.
"You?"
I simply waved getting an interested glare from Green Arrow who asked.
"You know each other?"
Artemis then explained that we go to the same school which calmed Green Arrow down a bit.
"Report"
And like always Batman asked for the report which I gave and once completed.
"So you met a guy who was filled with party favors and nearly got turned into a pincushion? And who's this?"
Wally was the first to speak after my brief explanation of the Polkadot man and His bat Tattoo which Batman wanted to know since he's always wants to know the facts.
After the explanation, Artemis introduced herself.
"I'm Artemis your new teammate."
Her message was short and sweet to most except Wally who introduced himself and blandly said he didn't know of her.
Green Arrow quickly diverted the attention telling everyone she was his new protege.
Once that introduction was done I walked over to Artemis placing my hand forward to shake hers which she accepted.
"Shift is what I go by in the field it's a pleasure to meet you again Artemis."
Artemis was shocked by my approach but still shook my hand agreeing with me.
"Yeah sure"
After hearing Olly's aka Green Arrows' answer Wally asked about his old protege which was right on cue.
After our own brief introduction, an unwanted guest at least in my eyes showed its ugly head.
"Recognized B'07 Speedy"
"It's Red Arrow now."
Speedy well I guess Red Arrow now came waltzing in talking like he owned the place pissing me off a bit.
Olly wanted to start a conversation by asking.
"Roy you look-"
"Replaceable."
Roy interrupted Olly mid-sentence. Olly tried easing the situation only adding fire.
"It's not like that You told me you were going solo."
"So why waste time finding a sub? Can she even use that bow?"
"Yes, She can."
Artemis finally joined the conversation between master and old protege telling Red Arrow her opinion.
Soon the main three of the team spoke their opinions.
"Who are you?!"
"Another niece"
"We have always wanted you on the team. And we have no quota on archers."
"And if we did we'd know who we'd pick."
After hearing Wally say both again asking Who Artemis was and his last comment made me nearly lose my cool.
After a quip from Artemis, I snickered taking everyone's surprise I then shrugged my shoulders saying.
"Let's just say I know which archer I'd choose to."
The team was surprised by my actions, especially the main three. But Red Arrow didn't mind and just went into why He was here.
"Dr. Sterling Roquette."
Robin after hearing the name searched on his brace finding her info.
"Nano-robotics genius and Claytronics expert at Royal University in Star City."
At Robin's description of the Dr, her image is showcased over the holographic brace. Showing the doctor's features of blonde hair and brown eyes.
Robin then stated she vanished but in actuality, she was kidnapped and saved by Red from the League of Shadows. Who began to discuss with us on her little project she made.
"Doc calls it the fog comprised of millions of microscopic robots. Nano-tech infiltrators capable of disintegrating anything in their path. Concrete. Steel, flesh, bone.
But its true purpose isn't simply destruction. It's theft. The infiltrators eat and store raw data from any computer system and delivers the stolen data to the shadows."
After a pause letting others think of the repercussions if left unchecked. Artemis began labeling them and after doing so.
"Yeah, that's like the shadows."
"How do you know about the Shadows?"
Artemis just smiled at Wally's question getting an aggregated response.
"Who are you?!"
I again chuckled surprising again for everyone who could hear.
Red then talks about the virus the Doctor is developing to stop the 'Fog' but Robin catches on saying.
"But if the Shadows know?"
"Then she's a target."
Red finished Robin's thought and continued with what he was asking of the team. Which was to protect her at the local high school lab getting disapproving marks from both Olly and Me.
"You left her alone?"
"She's safe for now."
Red responded to Olly's question with a bit of spite in his tone and then began to leave.
Once at the Zeta Tube and correcting it Speedy left.
After that Batman gave us the go-ahead and as we began to leave. Kid spoke up asking.
"What's your game man?"
"My Game?"
I was confused until Robin joined in.
"He means about Red Arrow why'd you say what you said."
I'll be honest I was already angry and now angrier now that they asked even SuperBoy sensed it.
After squeezing my hand tightly I turned to face the whole team and then spoke.
"I judge others by actions that is all."
Robin was actually angry at my comment while Kid spoke for him speaking his mind while Lad seemed paused thinking behind what I've said.
"What do you mean he saved us when fighting Amazo!"
Kid spoke and Robin nodded I simply looked away from them and looked at Artemis and spoke getting a blush out of her.
"Did he?"
Lad then placed it together followed by both Robin and Kid who soon felt awkward.
I spoke breaking the silence.
"Since no one's saying it thank you for the help."
Artemis still blushing simply shuffled it off saying.
"Don't mention it."
After that was out of the way both Wally and I suited up placing our hero suits on. And then began the mission.
