Kaito raised his hand and tossed the contract scroll to Sasuke. His eyes, marked by a five-pointed star pattern, spun as an identical five-pointed star array appeared on the ground.
He continuously formed hand signs, a spiritual light suddenly bursting from around him, and began chanting the nine-character mantra: "Rin, Pyo, Tou, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Zai, Zen!"
The array on the ground lit up with a blue glow, and a black ink-like spot appeared in the center, slowly expanding into a dark passage.
Kaito reminded, "Orochimaru-senpai, drip blood into the passage!"
Orochimaru, who was watching Kaito's spellcasting with great interest, immediately bit his finger upon hearing this and flicked a drop of blood into the Pure Land passage.
Kaito stopped his hand movements and shouted, "Come!"
A small, dim soul flame flew out rapidly from the Pure Land passage, rushing toward Orochimaru like a homing swallow.
With a flick of his long sleeve, Kaito arranged a few talisman papers in a neat row in mid-air.
His hands formed another set of seals.
"Go!"
The talisman papers darted through the air, rapidly rotating around Orochimaru.
Kaito changed the hand signs once more.
"Heaven and Earth, clear the soul, by law, come swiftly!"
A vast amount of natural energy quickly gathered, and the part of Orochimaru's soul that had been harvested by the Shinigami slowly merged back into his body.
At the same time, his hands, which had been nearly necrotic, gradually returned to normal.
The Pure Land passage slowly closed, the array dimmed, and the talisman papers in the air self-ignited. Kaito let out a sigh of relief as the spiritual light around him faded away, then lowered his hands.
"It's done." He smiled lightly at Orochimaru.
In fact, because he was a clone at the moment, this process was somewhat strenuous, forcing him to use the most complicated steps.
"Hehehehehe..." Orochimaru let out a strange laugh, raising his hands and repeatedly opening and closing his fingers. Then he looked at Kaito with blazing eyes, "So this is the power of an Onmyoji. You have truly opened my eyes, Kaito-kun."
The Hinoki fan reappeared in Kaito's hand, and with the other hand, he waved modestly, "Just a minor technique, not worth mentioning."
"For my desire to become a youkai, it seems Kaito-kun has a different perspective."
Since they had signed a contract, Orochimaru naturally inquired further, not wanting to miss out on any benefits.
"I was just about to discuss that with you, Orochimaru-senpai," Kaito didn't mind extending a favor. "Actually, if you're seeking immortality, there are two paths to choose from."
"I'm all ears." Orochimaru's eyes sparkled with interest.
Kaito maintained his smile and explained, "The first is to follow your plan and transform yourself into a youkai through a special method. The second is to assist me in defeating Kaguya and reclaiming the fragments of the Underworld, then rebuilding Yomi Hell, where you can fully transform into a hellish deity."
Orochimaru frowned, somewhat puzzled, "If it's in Yomi Hell, that means it happens after death, right? This contradicts my original goal."
"Hell is indeed the realm of the dead," Kaito nodded, "but as a deity belonging to Hell, apart from participating in some Hell-related affairs, there's not much difference from living in the present world."
"And the greatest benefit of this path is..." His voice took on a persuasive tone, "You can essentially retain the power you had in life, perhaps even stronger, and as long as there isn't another catastrophe like the one a thousand years ago that shattered Yomi, you can exist eternally with Yomi Hell."
"Oh? Thank you for the information, Kaito-kun." Orochimaru's eyes flickered, clearly tempted but quickly regaining his composure. "I will consider it carefully."
"Well, this clone's power is nearly exhausted, so I'll be heading back." Kaito's body shifted from solid to ethereal. "By the way, please contact me once you return to your base. I have some special research materials I'd like to share with you."
"No problem." Orochimaru's eyes lit up, showing great interest.
Kaito's figure gradually faded and fully retreated into a paper figure.
Then, the paper figure burned spontaneously without wind, turning into ashes that scattered with the breeze.
"Well then, I should be leaving too, Sasuke-kun." Orochimaru smiled eerily at Sasuke, "Since you've chosen to cooperate with Kaito-kun, if you encounter any difficulties now that you're alone, feel free to seek my help."
He rapidly formed hand seals, and in the blink of an eye, disappeared from the spot.
"Hmph!"
Sasuke crossed his arms, looking very displeased.
'I would never go around seeking help! They both underestimate me, thinking I'm still the same kid from three years ago! Looks like I need to prove myself with even more powerful actions! I'll start by completely defeating Itachi!'
Sasuke made up his mind.
…
"Kaito-kun!" Yūrei once again pushed open the laboratory door and walked in.
"You're back." Kaito was writing something, not turning around.
"I've already informed Lord Mo." Yūrei walked lightly to Kaito's side and sat down.
"Hmm? What did he say?" Kaito continued writing.
"Lord Mo has already informed the youkai near Jigen to monitor in secret." Yūrei casually organized the messy drafts on the floor and pouted, "It seems you'll have to take action personally in the end."
"Make sure they're careful." Kaito paused his writing, turned to Yūrei, "Although we don't know what abilities that person possesses, when it comes to the Otsutsuki, we can't be too cautious. If those youkai get detected, it would not only cause unnecessary sacrifices but also have too much of an impact on our plan."
"Don't worry." Yūrei also turned her head and gave a gentle smile, "Lord Mo has arranged for youkai skilled in transformation techniques, who can perfectly hide their youkai aura and disguise as ordinary humans."
She turned around and hugged Kaito's arm, resting her head on his shoulder.
"And I will also be watching him in the dream world."
"Don't let your guard down." Kaito tapped her forehead with his finger, "Don't forget the experience of being utterly defeated by Kaguya in Black Zetsu's dream."
"I know!" Yūrei's head rubbed against Kaito's shoulder, "I will be careful."
"I've made some new progress as well." Kaito pulled out a sheet from the written papers and placed it in front of Yūrei.
Yūrei glanced at it, a bit surprised, "So this is news about Ryūchi Cave?"
Then she carefully read through it.
After finishing, she handed the paper back to Kaito.
"Shinya, that name is somewhat familiar." She thought back carefully, "He was one of the rare hardliners among the youkai clans. When the snake clan defected, many youkai didn't even believe it."
She paused, then continued, "I didn't expect the truth to be that the White Snake and the three Snake Princesses were the first to make a choice."
"Yes, I'll have a good talk with him later." Kaito nodded slightly.
"Whether it's Jin or Shinya, they both hope to rebuild their youkai forms, right?" Yūrei said with some concern, "This kind of thing probably won't be easy."
"No problem." Kaito smiled confidently, "I like challenges, and I will work hard to succeed."
