Mount Ōeyama, Uchiha Residence.
"I'm back."
Sasuke, carrying takeout food, walked barefoot down the hallway, opened the door, and entered the living room.
The house was silent. Sasuke silently placed the food on the dining table and set aside the sword hanging from his waist.
He went to the kitchen to boil a pot of water, then returned to the dining table to unpack the food and pick up his chopsticks.
"I'm starting."
He said softly, then began eating at a steady pace.
After finishing his dinner and tidying up the table, the kettle in the kitchen emitted a sharp whistle as steam escaped.
He cleaned the teapot, added fresh tea leaves, and poured in the boiling water.
Sasuke placed the teapot on the coffee table in the living room, took his sword to his room, set it down, and found clean clothes to take a bath.
After his bath, he returned to the living room, kneeled, and poured the now warm tea into a cup, slowly drinking it.
After finishing the tea and letting his hair dry, Sasuke stood up and walked out of the living room, down the hallway to the study.
He extended his finger, and a small flame ignited at the tip, lighting the candles on several candlesticks in the study.
The study brightened up. Sasuke went to the bookshelf, purposefully took out a scroll, then walked to the low table, kneeled on the mat, and spread out the scroll.
The scroll's title read "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Song Technique."
After an unknown amount of time, light footsteps sounded from the hallway outside.
Then, there was a knock on the study door.
"Sasuke."
It was Yūrei's voice.
Sasuke lifted his head from the scroll, stood up, and opened the sliding door.
"Do you need something?"
"It's time for you to rest," Yūrei said cheerfully. "Children shouldn't stay up late, or Kaito will blame me for not taking good care of you."
"I'm not a child, and besides, no one asked you to take care of me." Sasuke replied indifferently.
"You're really not cute." Yūrei complained with a smile, turning towards the living room. "Be careful, I might tell on you to Kaito."
Sasuke skeptically looked at her. "Can you write him a letter?"
Yūrei's footsteps suddenly halted, and she turned back to look at Sasuke coolly.
Sasuke snorted softly, averting his gaze.
"Or... should I include it in my next letter?"
Yūrei smiled sweetly at him.
"Oh, are you showing off, Sasuke-kun?"
"Hmph, I'm not that bored." Sasuke crossed his arms, meeting Yūrei's gaze without fear. "The method Uncle left for communication is only for me to seek guidance on training."
"I don't need to write letters, Sasuke-kun."
Yūrei extended her hand, and a glowing butterfly suddenly appeared, landing on her fingertip.
The luminous, sparkling powder falling from the butterfly's wings illuminated Yūrei's smiling face.
"I'm a yokai who can freely enter and exit the dream world. I can meet Kaito intimately in my dreams every night."
"…!"
Sasuke's face suddenly turned red. He turned back into the study and closed the door.
"Ah, so easily embarrassed." Yūrei continued, "Sleep early, Sasuke. Disobedient children have nightmares."
"Fine, fine!"
Sasuke replied irritably, putting the scroll back on the shelf, blowing out the candles, and opening the door again.
"I'm going to bed!"
He hurried past Yūrei towards his room.
"Hehe."
Yūrei covered her mouth, laughing softly.
Sasuke entered his room, took out bedding from the wall cabinet, and spread it on the tatami.
Then, he sat cross-legged and began his meditation training.
Meditation is the main training process for spiritual power techniques.
After this period of training, Sasuke already felt his progress.
With the increase in spiritual power, the most significant effect was his chakra control, which had improved by several levels.
With strong control, many common jutsus' hand signs had been simplified.
He believed that with continued practice, he could simplify many jutsus to a single hand sign in the future.
And the most important, his eyes, though not yet the Mangekyou Sharingan, were clearly stronger than when they had just evolved into the three-tomoe Sharingan.
Self-studied jutsus, combined with swordsmanship and spiritual power techniques, gave him a much more solid sense of security.
Unlike his time in Konoha, when he seemed unable to see his path and was driven by hatred.
Now, he knew the direction of his progress and felt his improvements. He finally had confidence.
Two hours later, Sasuke opened his eyes.
He smiled with satisfaction, lifted the quilt, lay down, and fell asleep.
"Sasuke."
Who was calling him?
Sasuke groggily opened his eyes, finding himself surrounded by darkness.
"Sasuke."
He looked up, seeing a faint light ahead.
The weak light flickered. Sasuke couldn't help but move towards it.
The journey through the darkness seemed endlessly long. Sasuke moved tirelessly, forgetting his surroundings.
"Yūrei, why did you bring Sasuke here?"
A familiar male voice spoke.
"Disobedient children need to be taught a lesson, Kaito."
And who was that?
"Alright, wake him up."
"Okay."
Jingle!
A crisp bell sound rang out, and Sasuke suddenly woke up, the surrounding darkness fading to reveal two familiar figures.
"Uncle." Sasuke looked at Kaito. "What's this?"
"Forgot so quickly?" Yūrei next to Kaito smiled. "This is the dream world."
"You!"
Sasuke unhappily looked at the smugly smiling female yokai.
"Long time no see, Sasuke." Kaito said soothingly. "I asked Yūrei to enter your dream and bring you into mine."
He looked at Sasuke, continuing, "You're doing well, Sasuke. Even though this is just your consciousness, it shows your spiritual power has greatly improved."
"Of course!" Sasuke proudly smiled. "I believe my Mangekyou Sharingan will awaken soon!"
Kaito said comfortingly, "No need to rush, you still have time. Besides, I'll return to Mount Ōeyama before your Mangekyou Sharingan awakens."
"No need for such trouble, I can succeed on my own." Sasuke said awkwardly.
Kaito nodded in agreement. "It's just a coincidence. By then, my matters should be mostly resolved."
"By the way, I've met Naruto." Kaito added.
Sasuke said, "Hmph, just give him the Uzumaki clan's things. That idiot probably won't learn them."
"That's not certain." Kaito smiled. "I made a deal with Naruto's father. As the Fourth Hokage, he should be able to teach his son well."
"The Fourth?" Sasuke frowned, then stared at Kaito without speaking.
"I understand." Kaito raised his hands in surrender. "The material for the possession paper dolls has been updated. I'll summon Brother-in-law and Mikoto when I return."
Sasuke turned his head away, averting his gaze.
"I'm different from that guy. I don't need to cling to my parents."
