The robed man's words had barely left his mouth when his eyes widened, and he let out a piercing scream. The other two robed men, who had their chakra sealed by Mui, also began to scream and writhe on the ground. The black color on their skin slowly faded, and black and red energy clusters floated from their chests, flying toward the temple hall.

Kaito and Mui leaped up the steps in front of the temple and crossed the plaza to the hall's entrance. Inside, the completely black statue now emitted a faint red glow, absorbing the energy clusters from the robed men.

Kaito turned to look outside the temple, where countless similar energy clusters were streaming in from the entrance of the fourth underground level.

"Kaito," Chiri and Izuna suddenly appeared. "Is this Jashin?" Izuna asked, looking up at the statue.

Kaito shook his head. "I'm not sure, but Jashin should soon reveal its true form."

Crack...

As more energy was absorbed, cracks appeared on the black statue. The cracks grew larger, spreading out, yet the inside remained pitch black.

With a loud crash, the statue split into two and collapsed completely, thick black mist gradually spreading out.

"Retreat!" Kaito called out. The four of them vanished and reappeared in the plaza outside the hall.

Tap. Tap. Tap. Light footsteps echoed as a very short figure appeared in the thick black mist.

"So the so-called Jashin is a dwarf?" Izuna commented, watching the indistinct figure in the mist with interest.

Before his words had fully settled, Kaito felt a sudden sense of danger. "Be careful!" he shouted in warning.

Shing!

He turned just in time to see Izuna's eyes widen, a small white hand extending from his chest. As Izuna's figure started to flicker, Kaito quickly formed seals. "Seal!" He lifted his sleeve, and Izuna's flickering figure vanished, replaced by a somewhat damaged paper doll. The paper dolls of Chiri and Mui also retreated into his sleeve.

Kaito looked down and met the eyes of the suddenly appeared Jashin, his expression one of surprise. Jashin looked like a seven or eight-year-old boy, with the only difference being the small horns on his forehead. He wore a black formal outfit, contrasting sharply with his snow-white skin. His features were delicate but lacked any childlike cuteness. The chubby face bore a sinister smile, especially those pitch-black eyes, devoid of any light, like an abyss.

"Jashin?" Kaito asked. "Kaito," the child's voice of Jashin carried a chilling coldness. "You seek the power of the King of Hell. That is impossible."

"Why?" Kaito asked calmly. "Because..." Jashin's figure suddenly vanished. "I am invincible!" his voice came from behind Kaito.

Kaito looked down at the small hand that had pierced through his chest and sighed, "Just a moment ago, I was mocking others' speed. This is embarrassing."

Jashin's figure appeared in front of him again as Kaito's golden chains missed their target. It stared at Kaito with its black eyes and said, "I see, you have fully connected with Ryūmyaku. Such attacks can't kill you anymore."

Golden liquid flowed from the hole in Kaito's chest, quickly healing the wound. "Hehe," Jashin suddenly grinned, "then I'll use a curse, something onmyoji are also skilled at, to deal with you!" Black mist emerged from its small, white hand, and Kaito felt a sudden sharp pain in his chest. He looked down to see a strange black pattern spreading from his chest. His Mangekyo Sharingan spun rapidly as he pulled out a charm and placed it on the pattern. The charm glowed with a blue light, temporarily halting the spread of the black pattern.

"Hehe!" Jashin disappeared again. "Ryūmyaku Guardian!" Bam! A golden shield blocked Jashin's next attack. It reappeared before Kaito. "Hehe... you were careless. Now it's too late to defend against me."

Black mist rapidly spread from Jashin's hand, covering Kaito's entire body. "Ugh..." The charm on his chest shattered, and the pain intensified, cold sweat dripping from Kaito's forehead.

"Hehehehehehehe..." Jashin, now entirely black like ink, laughed, black mist spilling from its mouth. It licked its lips, revealing two white fangs. "What a delicious pain! Give me more!"

White skeletal patterns emerged from under its skin. Kaito trembled, bending down on one knee, sweat dripping onto the ground. "Heh... heh... I was... careless..." he gasped, "No wonder... it's a fragment of the King of Hell's soul after all..."

"Hehe... was it the Shinigami who told you?" Jashin licked its fingers, "I abandoned the powers of the King of Hell long ago." It approached, smiling at Kaito through the golden barrier. "I only want to bring sweet pain to the world."

Kaito calmly met its gaze and suddenly placed his hands on the ground. "Ryūmyaku Chains!" Unlike the earlier summoning of a few chains in battle, this time golden chains erupted from the ground, covering the entire plaza, locking down Jashin from all directions.

"You are right." He stood up, chains wrapping around him, with one piercing through the black pattern on his chest. "What?" Jashin resisted the chains with black mist. "Onmyoji are indeed skilled with curses," Kaito's face looked much better as the black pattern shrank rapidly. "I was worried that without a prepared battlefield, I couldn't trap you."

"If you had escaped, it would have been hard for me to find you again." "Are you saying you did this on purpose?" Jashin's voice sharpened. "Not really," Kaito looked down as the black pattern shrank, the chain piercing through it turning black. "I was indeed careless."

"But, I'm usually quite lucky," he smiled at Jashin. "Even accidents can turn into opportunities, don't you think?"
