With Izuna's help in holding off the stone soldiers, Kaito could focus on dealing with Moryo.
Despite Moryo's desperate struggles, it was to no avail. More and more Ryūmyaku Chains bound him, gradually stripping away his ability to resist.
Kaito approached the mass of purple-black soul energy and extended his hand.
A large amount of spiritual energy seeped into Moryo's soul from his hand, making a hissing sound like water hitting hot oil, with black smoke billowing out.
"Ahhhh..." Moryo let out a piercing scream.
Kaito's other hand continuously formed seals while chanting: "Riton, Pyo, To, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Zai, Zen!"
"Miss Shion!"
"Yes!"
Shion stepped forward, holding a bell, and began a solemn Kagura dance.
Ting-a-ling.
Mother, previous shrine maidens, the time has come to end our fate. Please leave Moryo's tainted soul and rest in peace in the Pure Land!
Ting-a-ling.
The clear sound of the bell rang out, causing Kaito's thoughts to drift, recalling the night sakura from that dream.
As Shion danced, Moryo's soul began to tremble violently. One by one, transparent figures dressed in shrine maiden attire separated from it and, guided by the sound of the bell, surrounded Shion.
The last shrine maiden to appear had the same light blonde hair as Shion. As she appeared, Shion's Kagura dance reached its climax.
"Mother!" Shion stared blankly at the familiar figure before her, tears streaming down her face.
Miroku smiled at Shion, seemed to say something, and then disappeared along with the other shrine maiden souls.
As the shrine maiden souls vanished, the purple mist in the Box of Ultimate Bliss intensified, dragging Moryo's soul into the huge beast's mouth.
"Don't get cocky, boy. The remaining two are beyond your reach..."
"Then I'll be looking forward to it. If they're like you, it would be too boring." Kaito remained unfazed.
Moryo's taunting voice gradually disappeared, and the beast's mouth on the Box of Ultimate Bliss slowly closed.
Subsequently, the scattered faces of the angry ghosts returned to their positions, and their eyes lit up.
At the same time, the countless stone soldiers in the underground palace stopped moving and turned back into inanimate objects.
Kaito controlled the Ryūmyaku Chains to drag the Box of Ultimate Bliss back into the ground, then turned to look at Shion, who was still crying beside him.
"Miss Shion, are you okay?"
Hearing his voice, Shion snapped out of it, quickly wiped her tears, and bowed deeply to Kaito.
"The souls of the former shrine maidens are finally freed. Thank you so much for your help, Kaito-kun."
"You're welcome, Miss Shion," Kaito replied with a gentle smile. "We still need to go to the Land of Swamps to deal with Moryo's physical body."
"Yes, I understand." Shion smiled too.
Outside the underground palace, Gurē had regained his spirit due to Uchiha Chiri's presence. Because the dark medical ninjutsu was incomplete, the remaining three were no match for Chiri and were quickly defeated.
After Kaito, Izuna, and Shion exited the underground palace, Kaito released the guards from the genjutsu.
When the guards confirmed that Moryo had been completely defeated, they cheered with joy.
"We deeply apologize, Lady Shion, Lord Kaito."
The middle-aged warrior who had vehemently opposed them before now knelt before Shion and Kaito, seeking forgiveness.
After sealing Yomi and his surviving subordinates, Shion handed them over to the guards, instructing them to escort them back to the city.
During this time, Kaito also spent spiritual energy healing Gurē's injuries.
Later, Gurē, full of energy again, took to the sky, carrying the group to the Land of Swamp.
Without its soul, Moryo's physical body was no longer able to resist.
Once Shion lifted the seal, Kaito directly set up an array, completely purifying Moryo's physical body.
Watching Moryo's body turn to ashes and disappear completely, Shion beamed with joy.
The tragic fate of generations of shrine maidens entangled with Moryo had finally ended, and the ominous cloud over the Land of Demons had dissipated.
At that moment, she felt an unparalleled sense of relief.
When the group returned to the capital of the Land of Demons, the entire city was in a state of jubilant celebration.
"Miss Shion!" As Shizuku pushed open the sliding door, his face beamed with obvious joy. "Everything is ready."
"Then let's go." Shion's voice came from inside.
At this moment, a grand ceremony was being held in the palace of the Land of Demons, with everyone eagerly awaiting the shrine maiden's appearance.
"Lady Shion is here." As Shizuku's voice rang out, Shion, dressed in luxurious shrine maiden attire, walked in slowly.
She wore a golden crown and held a Kagura bell adorned with five-colored ribbons, moving to the center of the hall.
With the accompaniment of taiko drums, flutes, and bells, Shion began another solemn and graceful Kagura dance.
As she danced, the people of the Land of Demons knelt and prayed.
Meanwhile, Kaito and the others stood quietly in a corner, watching the ceremony.
"Let's go," Kaito said, turning to leave the hall.
"Aren't you going to say goodbye? Kaito?" Uchiha Chiri asked.
"No need, we probably won't see each other again," Kaito replied calmly.
Just as they reached the palace gates, Shion's voice called out from behind.
"Wait." Shion hurried over to Kaito, looking at him with some confusion. "Kaito-kun, are you leaving?"
"Yes." Kaito nodded. "Thank you for your assistance, Miss Shion."
"Kaito-kun, really," Shion seemed a bit playful, "you've helped me more, actually. I wanted to properly thank you, but you're leaving without a word."
Kaito simply said, "No need for trouble, Miss Shion. You know I have my next target."
"Then what about after you complete the remaining two targets?" Shion suddenly asked.
"Hmm?" Kaito was a bit puzzled.
Shion bit her lip and continued, "Will you come back to the Land of Demons after completing the other two seals?"
Come back to the Land of Demons for what?
Kaito shook his head, "I probably won't come back."
"Is that so." Shion's eyes suddenly reddened, "What if I need Kaito-kun's help again?"
"Is that so." Kaito seemed to understand and handed Shion a small paper doll, "Take this. If you need help, write my name on it."
"I understand. Thank you, Kaito-kun." Shion smiled again.
After bidding farewell to Shion, Kaito and his companions once again took to the skies on Gurē's back.
"Kaito, you really don't understand a girl's heart," Chiri suddenly said.
"Hmm? What do you mean?" Kaito was confused.
Izuna looked at him with disdain, "Hmph, idiot. The shrine maiden obviously likes you."
"Is that so?" Kaito thought for a moment and then said, "Though I didn't notice, I already have Yūrei-sama."
"Thanks to Yūrei-sama being proactive," Chiri covered her mouth, "otherwise, you wouldn't have understood her feelings."
"That's true." Kaito was a bit embarrassed.
Mainly, his mind was occupied with many things, and romantic relationships were not usually on his radar.
"Uchiha is now just you and Sasuke. Sasuke is still young, so you need to continue the family line." Izuna said, "That shrine maiden is quite good."
"Didn't expect you to say that, too, Izuna." Kaito looked at him helplessly, "But you didn't leave any descendants yourself, did you?"
"Shut up! It was different back then. During the war, our families had no place to stay, so why marry!"
"And now I'm busy saving the world! Besides, I already have Yūrei-sama!"
"Don't think I don't know. It's hard for humans and yokai to have children!"
"Then let Sasuke handle it. I'll get him ten wives!"
