"What... did you do?" Nagato felt a sharp pain in his heart, unable to resist clutching his chest.

"Nagato, what's wrong?" Konan quickly bent down to check on him.

"When I treated you last time, I left a seal in your heart," Obito's sinister voice rang out. "Now, your life is in my hands, and you must do as I say."

"You!!" Konan glared at Obito with hatred, sheets of paper floating around her. "Remove the seal from Nagato immediately!"

"You'd better not act rashly, Konan," Obito said fearlessly, "or Nagato will die."

"Konan." Nagato grabbed her hand, his expression back to being calm. "Calm down."

"But…" Konan turned, worry in her eyes. "Nagato?"

"I'm fine."

Nagato reassured Konan before turning to Obito, saying, "I will do as you say this time."

"But you should leave now," his eyes flashed dangerously, "or... I will at least drag you down with me."

At this moment, the figure of Deva Path Pain emerged from the shadows nearby.

Obito was unimpressed, but since he had achieved his objective, he decided not to provoke Nagato further.

"Understood. Just send those two out when you get the chance. I will secretly assist them."

His body gradually became intangible and then disappeared in front of them.

After Obito's departure, Konan relaxed slightly and immediately knelt to check on Nagato, "Nagato! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Nagato shook his head slightly.

"I told you before, that man can't be trusted!" Konan's anger hadn't subsided. "What should we do now? Are you going to be under his control forever?"

"This is temporary," Nagato said firmly.

"But Kakuzu and Hidan… they don't know about your previous fight with Kaito," Konan hesitated.

"We'll have to give them up," Nagato's face was half-shrouded in darkness, his purple eyes glimmering slightly. "Trust me, Konan. I did gain something last time, so this won't last long."

...

After leaving the underground money exchange, Hidan couldn't help but complain, fanning his nose, "It stinks! Can't you stop going to these smelly places?"

"..." Kakuzu said nothing, merely looking at him coldly.

"Hey, hey, hey, what's with that look?" Hidan slung his large scythe over his shoulder, glaring provocatively at Kakuzu.

Kakuzu turned and continued walking, his deep voice echoing, "One day, I'll definitely kill you."

"Guys, there's a mission."

At that moment, a casual voice sounded, and a white figure emerged from the ground.

"A clone of White Zetsu?" Kakuzu extended his right hand. "Hand over the mission scroll."

"Here you go." The White Zetsu clone pulled out a scroll from behind its back, from who knows where, and handed it over.

Kakuzu's eyebrows twitched, but he took the scroll without a word and opened it.

"Hey, where did you hide the scroll?" Hidan shouted as he peered behind the White Zetsu clone.

"The general location of the target is recorded in the scroll. I'll be off now." The White Zetsu clone merged back into the ground and vanished.

"That's pathetic! Accepting such a scroll!" Hidan looked at Kakuzu with disdain.

"Shut up, idiot!" Kakuzu put the scroll away, annoyed. "If you keep babbling like a child, I'll kill you!"

"Alright, alright, what's the mission target?" Hidan asked nonchalantly.

Kakuzu frowned and said coldly, "We are to intercept and kill Uchiha Kaito."

"Hm? That guy! Deidara mentioned him!" Hidan exclaimed happily. "The Uchiha who defeated Itachi? I'm getting excited!"

"This mission feels unusual," Kakuzu hesitated.

Hidan taunted, "Are you scared? Hahaha, leave it to me. I'll offer him to the Jashin!"

'Idiot!' Kakuzu trusted his intuition honed over decades of being a ninja and knew reasoning with this idiot was pointless, so he tried another approach.

"The Five Great Ninja Villages have just issued a joint bounty on Uchiha Kaito," he said as he continued walking.

"So?" Hidan lazily followed.

"We should wait until the bounty is issued, then act," Kakuzu said matter-of-factly.

In any case, he decided to delay and observe for a while.

Hidan laughed, "Hahaha, want to get more bounty money? You really are obsessed with money!!"

...

Mount Myoboku.

After sending Naruto off to train with the small toads, Jiraiya went to see Fukasaku and Shima.

"Jiraiya, you're here," Fukasaku greeted him as he jumped out the door.

"Fukasaku," Jiraiya said seriously, "I need to ask about that Uchiha kid."

"I knew you would," Fukasaku led Jiraiya inside, "I also wanted to talk to you about him."

The Toad Sages' home was small for Jiraiya, who had to duck and squeeze himself inside to sit on the floor.

"Where should I start?" Fukasaku's tone was heavy, "That Uchiha kid claimed to be an Onmyoji."

"Yes," Jiraiya nodded.

"That was in an era before ninjas and chakra existed," Fukasaku continued, "Humans wielded power as samurai, Onmyoji, and priestesses, with Onmyoji being the most mysterious and unpredictable."

Jiraiya listened intently.

Fukasaku went on, "However, Onmyoji did not have a good relationship with us summoning beasts. They called us yokai and tried to enslave us as shikigami."

"Unlike the cooperation between ninjas and summoning beasts, Onmyoji fought from behind the scenes, controlling shikigami. Summoning beasts couldn't voluntarily cancel the summon even when injured. Eventually, summoning beasts rebelled, escaping Onmyoji control to survive in hidden realms. Onmyoji lost their legacy over time. Until the Sage of the Six Paths appeared, summoning beasts re-emerged by cooperating with ninjas."

"What about the "Choice" that he talked about?" Jiraiya asked.

"Who knows where he found that ancient legacy," Fukasaku seemed worried. "Maybe his power already surpasses that of summoning beasts. He was asking if we would submit to him."

"Outrageous!" Jiraiya said angrily, "Don't worry, Fukasaku, Mount Myoboku is my second home. I'll protect it!"

"That's reassuring," Fukasaku smiled gratefully.

...

Kaito ignored the turmoil in the ninja world, as no trouble had reached him yet.

He was currently on Ash's back, looking at the ancient city beneath the white clouds.

"This is the Land of Demons. Let's go down!"
