This was a palace laid out like a Shinto shrine, with layers of red torii gates standing in front of the main hall.
"Gurē gurē gurē..." A strange cry, like an excited laugh, came from the sky, casting a huge shadow on the ground.
The palace guards looked up and saw a giant owl descending toward the ground.
"Is it an enemy attack?"
"Who are you?"
"Quick! Get into formation!"
A commotion ensued as the guards drew their bows and aimed their arrows at the giant bird of prey descending from the sky.
"Gurē gurē gurē..."
The strange cry sounded again, and a strong wind swept through, causing everyone to close their eyes for a moment.
When the guards opened their eyes again, they saw only two figures, one tall and one short, standing in the plaza.
"Who are you?" A young guard wearing glasses stepped forward cautiously and looked at the newcomers.
The tall, black-haired young man smiled elegantly, bowed, and spoke loudly, "Descendants of the Onmyoji, requesting an audience with the priestess of the Land of Demons."
"Onmyoji?" The young man with glasses' expression changed, and he put away his bow and arrows, returning the bow, "Please wait a moment. I will inform the priestess."
Kaito nodded slowly and politely said, "No problem."
The young man with glasses turned and walked up the steps toward the main hall.
"Mr. Soku, what's going on?" The guards beside him didn't dare to act rashly and still pointed their arrows at the two intruders.
"Keep an eye on them and wait for the priestess' decision." Soku gave a low command and hurriedly entered the main hall.
...
Soku walked down a corridor and knelt in front of a closed shoji screen, gently sliding it open.
"Miss Shion," he called respectfully.
"Soku, what's happening?" a young girl's voice came from inside the room.
Soku bowed and replied, "Just now, two people suddenly descended from the sky and intruded into the palace. One of them claimed to be a descendant of the Onmyoji, requesting to see Miss Shion."
"Is that so?" The girl's voice carried a hint of surprise, "Then let's go to the main hall to meet them."
"But..." Soku hesitated, "Could it be dangerous?"
"Don't worry." Footsteps sounded as a priestess with long, light blonde hair walked out of the room, "My eyes have not foreseen any death."
"Understood." Soku stood up and followed the priestess towards the main hall.
...
In the plaza in front of the main hall.
Kaito ignored the guards' drawn bows and stood calmly in place.
As time passed, the guards became increasingly nervous, almost unable to hold back their arrows.
Tap, tap, tap.
Footsteps echoed as Soku quickly descended the steps from the main hall, arriving in front of the guards.
He waved his hand, and the guards finally relaxed, putting away their weapons.
Then he bowed to Kaito, "Sir, the priestess has agreed to see you. Please follow me."
"Thank you." Kaito nodded and followed Soku.
...
The pristine floor reflected the interior of the main hall, where the priestess, adorned with a golden crown, sat gracefully behind a bamboo screen.
Kaito approached slowly and bowed to the priestess, "I am Uchiha Kaito. Greetings to the priestess of the Land of Demons."
"Is that the Kikyo seal?" Shion's eyes widened slightly as she saw the pentagram seal glowing in front of Kaito. After a few seconds, she bent forward to return the bow.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Kaito. I am Shion, the priestess of the Land of Demons."
"Miss Shion recognizes the Kikyo seal," Kaito smiled and knelt on a cushion.
Gurē sat behind him.
"My mother told me about it." Shion said nostalgically, "I never thought there were still Onmyoji."
"Miss Shion," Soku suddenly spoke, "Can you confirm their identity based only on a seal?"
"Of course not. Mr. Kaito's Kikyo seal has a unique power that I can feel."
She then apologized to Kaito, "I'm sorry for my subordinate's rudeness."
Soku also deeply bowed to Kaito, "I deeply apologize."
"Miss Shion and Mr. Soku are too polite." Kaito maintained his smile, "I am the one who suddenly intruded."
Shion took the opportunity to ask, "May I ask the reason for Mr. Ri's visit to the Land of Demons?"
"It seems the people of the Land of Demons are not concerned with the rumors of the ninja world," Kaito said meaningfully, "I have taken the Box of Ultimate Bliss from Kusagakure and completed its purification. Unlike the ninjas, Miss Shion should understand its significance."
"Is that true?" Shion's voice carried a hint of urgency as she couldn't help but stand up from behind the bamboo screen.
"Miss Shion?" Soku asked in confusion, seeing the priestess suddenly become agitated.
"What I say is always true." Kaito said confidently, "I have sealed Zero-Tails. Would Miss Shion like to see the Box of Ultimate Bliss?"
"Is that really possible?" Shion seemed to suppress some emotion, looking at Kaito with hopeful eyes, "Then please, Mr. Ri."
...
In front of the waterfall behind the palace.
Shion ignored the worried look from Soku and kept her gaze fixed on the young man standing on the open ground.
Kaito nodded at her, then slowly closed his eyes and formed a seal with his hands.
"The Ryūmyaku hidden deep in the earth, the pulse of the planet, the source of life, appear now, I request your protection, by the law of urgency!"
A golden mist rose from the ground at his feet, slowly enveloping his entire body.
"This is... Amazing, he actually communicated with the Ryūmyaku," Shion couldn't help but widen her eyes and murmur.
Kaito's hands changed seals, and he lightly shouted, "Ryūmyaku Lock!"
Shush!
Several golden chains emerged from the ground, causing ripples to appear on the surface like water.
Creak, creak.
The sound of metal rang out as several golden chains dragged a massive object from the ground, slowly rotating.
It was a large, square box, several meters tall, with grimacing faces embedded on its four sides.
"It's really the Box of Ultimate Bliss!" Shion's eyes reddened as she looked at the box before her.
When the box stopped rotating, one of the grimacing faces with lit eyes faced Shion.
"The eyes of the Joyful Face are lit, which signifies something Miss Shion should understand," Kaito's voice sounded as he walked slowly to Shion's side.
"Yes! I understand. This means Zero-Tails has been sealed," Shion nodded repeatedly, tears streaming from her eyes.
"In that case, Miss Shion should also understand the purpose of my visit," Kaito continued, "I request Miss Shion's assistance in completely sealing Moryo."
"Miss Shion? What is this?" Soku asked in shock.
"Soku," Shion suddenly showed a brilliant smile that Soku had never seen before, "This is wonderful! My mother's soul can finally be freed, and the fate of the priestesses of the Land of Demons and Moryo will come to an end."
