I spend my two days in Dracula's Hospital teaching myself more Korean and completing the assignments I understand, which is starting to grow. At the end of those two days, I'm brought out of the hospital room by some nurses and into a black car that was outside. Apparently I was in an actual honest to God hospital the whole time.
After a few hours of driving, we arrive at my apartment. The sun was just rising when arriving there. I march up those stairs and enter my home. As soon as I'm through, Ryung and Hana jump up from the table and sprint over to me, nearly taking me down with a hug. I start saying, "Hey, hey, I'm injured here. How were you both while I was out?"
But they don't respond to my question and instead, start to cry. "Wait, wait, why are you both crying? Did you missed me that much?" I ask them light heartily.
Hana wipes her tears and snot away on her sleeves before saying, "We saw you. At a friends house."
I never went to one of their friends house, what is she talking about? "What do you mean you saw me at a friends house? I was out doing a gig with a buddy of mine. No reason to cry over that."
She shakes her head, "No, we saw you on the T.V., fighting that Red-Skinn."
Oh shit, they saw that? No wonder they were crying when they saw me. A deep sigh escapes my throat, before speaking softy "Sorry I didn't say anything before hand. I didn't want to worry you, but that seems out of the picture if you saw me... fighting that Red-Skinn. But hey, on the bright side, we now have enough money to throw a birthday party for Ryung!"
"That doesn't matter if you're dead! We don't want to lose you, you're the only one we have left! Why didn't you even ask our opinions about that? What if you died!? What if you couldn't come back!? We'd be on our own, barely surviving, and it'd be your fault!"
Hana's words drive a sword through my soul. Never before had my actions hurt someone I loved so much. I kneel down and look into both of their eyes, cupping their faces. Tears still streaming down their faces.
I start speaking in a low and soft voice, "Hey, look at me, I'm still alive, I'm still breathing. You don't have to worry about me dying off, because I would never leave you two on your own. I'll not dying anytime soon, I promise you both that." with that said, I bring them into a hug.
We stay there on the floor until our knees start hurting. Once they had calmed down, I asked Ryung, "Hey, where would you like to go for your birthday?"
Wiping the tears from his eyes, he said, "I'd just like to spend the day with you. I don't need anything else."
"Don't worry, we will spend the whole day together. Just tell me what you want to do."
"Um, I'd like to go to Yong Land."
"Is that a theme park?"
He nods his head, "Yep. It's the," he opens is arms wide for emphasis, "Biggest theme park in the whole wide world!"
His enthusiasm makes me crack a smile, "Then we gotta go there. I'll call in for your schools and say that you're both out sick. Let's enjoy ourselves tomorrow."
I look away from them and towards the clock. It reads seven thirty in the morning. School will start soonish. Do they want to go to school? I don't know so I ask them, "Hey, do either of you want to go to school today? If not then we can stay at home and do stuff together."
They look at each other before Hana says, "No, we're okay with going back to school. Just please, don't hurt yourself anymore. We won't forgive you if you do."
"Okay, I agree. I'll take it easy for a while."
"Good."
With that said, we stand up and get ready for school. I start up a pot of coffee before realizing, I don't know if they had eaten the days before. "Hey Ryung, Hana, did you while I was gone."
They start to say something but their stomachs answer first with a long, drawn out growl. Shit, did they not eat for four days? How are they even moving? I check in the fridge to nab some ingredients. Opening the door, I see next to nothing inside, only only a few slices of ham and maybe four eggs. The top of the fridge is also just as sparse with only half a loaf of bread.
I grab the ham and eggs while also grabbing everything I need to cook them. Setting up the pan and stove, I get to whisking the eggs for some good ol' scrambled eggs. In the time of setting everything up, the pan is warm enough to start cooking.
Putting the egg in first I then layer it with the ham. The wonderful smell of good cooking fills the room. I sprinkle a dab of salt and pepper in to enhance the flavor and taste. Once the whole dish is done and thoroughly cooked, I set it upon two plates. Setting the plates before Ryung and Han before sitting down, I get to see the most heartwarming smiles as they say "Thank you."
A smile crosses my lips before I know it. Amazing how much I care for these guys when I've known them for little more than a week. They tear through the breakfast and are done within a minute. I hope I made enough for them.
Once they're done with breakfast, we head outside and off to school with a "Goodbye" the last words we say. Once arriving at school, everyone stares at me. People I don't even know start to whisper about me while the ones I do know of try to talk to me. I ignore them all and head to my homeroom to learn with Mr. Han.
Walking through the doorway, I see Mr. Han speaking with another student. Upon noticing me, Mr. Han whispers something to the female students and beckons for me to come over. I walk over to him and we start my lesson. I learn more about the Korean writing system with its consonants, vowels, and multiple combinations, and also how to both read and write simple words like friends and family.
After half an hour of learning, the school day starts and we head to our spots in the class. The rest of the day before heading to work passes in a blur. The only memorable thing being that I lasted slightly longer against Joon woo during Martial arts class.
Through out the day I never saw Dracula. Did he infiltrate the school for that single time, or is he actually a part of the students? What is his age anyways? These thoughts linger in my head as I head towards work.
Getting to work and talking with Mr. Lee, I find out that I was on one of the biggest Fighting channels for Korea, dubbed "The Bloody Orchard". He starts the conversation with, "Oh, Choehabu, are you doing alright? I saw your fight with the Red-Skinn. I'm, I'm surprised you're even up and walking. Just so you know, you're going out and fighting and nearly dying cost me a few ten thousands," his face takes a more lighter feel, "but that's okay. If you want to do something like that again, tell me beforehand that way I can get a replacement for you. I don't want my favorite employee to go dying on me."
I nod my head, "Will do. When next I go on there, I'll tell you before hand."
"I don't like how you used When instead of If, but it's your life. Watch over yourself, okay? Also, close down the shop this time, been doing it the past four days and it's been a pain not going home early."
With that, the conversation was done and I was left alone. A few customers came in and buy stuff. One of them bought several dozen condoms which was a sight to behold but aside from that, nothing major.
Closing down shop and heading home, I arrive at maybe two in the morning. Traversing up the flights of stairs and into my house. I set down my bags and trudge my way into mine and Ryung's bedroom to see both him and Hana sleeping on my bed.
That's cute, but I would like to sleep right now. I walk over to try and wake them to move but can't myself to do it. They're simply to cute to wake up. I sigh and crawl under the blankets, falling asleep on the outer shell of the bed, keeping watch on my two siblings.
