After dismissing the guards, Leo started towards where Hazel disappeared to and found himself standing outside the small cottage he and his brother built when they were young. A nostalgic feeling swept over him as he stared at the now abandoned building and a sigh left his lips. It had been long since he last visited this place that held so much memories and it almost felt like he travelled back to the past.
Shaking off the slightly uncomfortable feeling, he made his way inside and immediately heard silent sobs. His brows furrowed and he momentarily stopped, wondering if he should give Hazel some space or just move forward. He eventually decided to interrupt so he made his footsteps as loud as possible.
Dust floated in the air and the wooden floor creaked under the pressure of his steps.
After a while, the sobs stopped completely and when he finally reached where Hazel was, one couldn't tell she was crying if not for her puffy eyes.
