⚜️ SUMMARY ⚜️
So it went something like this, this had happened before, a long time ago. No, it wasn't just a story to entertain the little curious minds of pups of this little pack house flourishing ever so slightly, still tangled in its past. The weres had indeed fled to a certain part of Earth to lay-low. They had indeed taken cover from certain reasons that threatened their whole existence. The living and vicious reasons that had made a pact to haunt werewolves for an eternity it seemed.
Frustrating much?
Weres had to develop immunity towards the likes of those that threatened them, those who proved solid towards their words with their actions.
In response, two highly threatened species, the weres and vamps had come face to face, while fleeing, trying to find a safe haven. This is when the weres had declared a quite strong and nerve wrecking alliance with one of their nature friendly species which they preferred to avoid which they usually avoided. It was considered strange for these two species to help each other, nature had its hidden powers when these two combined to call off the threatening beings.
"Divided they fell, united they stood".
Each unmated werewolf was paired with an unmated vampire since mated species proved to be strong enough to defend themselves. Some lived, some died. Together, the weres and vamps stood double the immunity, double the power and just not so weak anymore.
Alone is when the attacks, abductions happened. They were simply taken from certain lone spots within packs and family. The weres and vamps seemed to be plucked out of their buds, those lacking vision, strength, hope, and in other words, lacking the bond. The special bond that proved strong enough to repel any bad omens their way.
Together they stood at the place no one could break the bond. Together, through whatever came their way. Together, throughout the way. All the way.
Yet a time came when it went to just being simple, no more alliance, no more sharing of sacred bonds, even though werewolves worked on the special bonds, the bonds determining their very lives, their very lives. Going back to just being werewolves and on the other hand, vampires.
No one dared bring up when it used to be a single community. When the species had come close for survival, when it flourished like no other had ever, when nature went too gracefully over the land 'cuz once what suffered a great deal' was gifted the blood, peace and love once was craved for.
Like every happiness, this too enjoyed its stay and went off its own way. Like the visit of Autumn after Spring.

Chapter 1
The wind blew softly as the leaves rustled in an enormous empty parking lot. The place gives off dead vibes as the wind continues to blow. The street light flickers giving on and off shades of lightning in the area making it chilly enough to set the alarm of goose bumps all over the body.
A rabbit hops out of the grass field beside the great parking lot and trudges its way onto the marked slots of the parking lot, a slow and painful hopping across the place as it bleeds from its slightly injured leg. A light grumbling of an empty stomach makes the rabbit's ears perk up. The rabbit stills in place.
"Here bunny bunny... Bun bun." A low voice of a boy makes the rabbit's ears perk up its way. The street light glitches and the chilly wind picks up pace. It's no longer the calm and smooth wind. As if sensing the situation, the wind had transformed the surroundings, emotions and feelings.
"Bun bun..." Nearing the still rabbit, the voice belonged to a juvenile in his early teens, setting calmness into motion, completely opposite to what the wind had been aiming for.
Looking at the rabbit, it seemed to be in a foot's reach away still sitting on the concrete floor like a dumb rag doll barely even breathing. Yet its ears perk up in every direction once in a while with his nose twitching ever so slightly.
"How did you even get here?" The boy muttered trying to get closer than he thought he could without scaring the poor thing away.
A sharp swoosh of wind bolted the rabbit into motion as it hopped ahead twice the speed and the boy sighed, barely even having time for straightening as a voice shook him, terrified.
"Well... You seem like a lost case."
The boy moved hesitantly, trying to gulp down a troubling lump of air stuck in his throat, with fear struck eyes. A woman with a slight curved posture submerged in the darkness around her, her eyes shimmering like jewels nonetheless.
"I- I'm- I'm not lost!" The boy managed a few stumbling words over his tied tongue. Absolute fear gushing through his veins as his body chose to freeze over instead of fleeing.
"Awh, aren't you a cute little thing. Lost yet so strong~" The sly words danced in the air as the woman stepped into the glitching light. What a devilish sight it turned out to be. The woman blinding as ever, her robes gave off the most alluring essence the boy had ever encountered.
He could smell the blood pumping through her neck veins, the sound of her heart pumping blood so vigorously. The woman grinned as if knowing exactly what she was doing to the boy.
The boy seemed too delighted by the essence, to notice the fact that the woman had pulled out a pocket knife.
"Oops."
The woman wrinkled her nose as little drops of blood trickled down her left hand imprinting the concrete floor in tiny red dots.
The boy gulped, his throat dry and crashing on itself. His eyes turned from her bewitching eyes to her bleeding hand. What was this scent? The boy felt teary eyed as he just stood trying not to shiver. His stomach grumbled so loud that the woman broke into a nasty laughter.
"What a time to be hungry! Aren't you hungry, you bunny?" She teased as she circled him.
The boy shivered under her splitting gaze, "Don't, hurt me-"
A forceful forearm grab made the boy jerk forward and almost go limp. The alluring scent and the metallic electric taste of the blood made the boy roll his eyes back as she pulled down his lower jaw with her injured bleeding hand.
The boy sneered almost jerking out of her hold. "Stay still you beast!" She hissed at him as she ran her fingers over his teeth roughly rubbing them. They looked blood stained and the boy was ready to kill.
It looked like the blood had awoken the beast in an innocent looking child.
"Not bad. Useful after all." The woman spoke to herself as she pressed the middle of the forehead gap just between the two eyebrows making the boy fall limp in her arms.
"What a good catch Vanessa." She patted herself, this definitely secured her going back home. Her only backdoor in joining the Witchcraft ritual with a pet of her own.
"I suggest you put him down and back away. Nicely." The heavy voice rolled in triple the dose of I-See-I-Kill vibe hit the witch in her gut. The witch snapped her head as her eyes took in a huge figure stepping into the light and out of the night's shadow.
A mix of purple blue eyes burned into her skull as she cried and backed away throwing the unconscious boy on the concrete ground.
"What the fuck!?" The witch cried. Her hands flailing at her sides. "Stop right there!" She screamed and all the man had done was shift eyes not even fully into his monstrous form. The man rolled his eyes. He hadn't done anything and the drama had started.
"This is definitely new." A slight grin crossed his face.
"And what are you supposed to be?" The witch asked backing away trying to put distance between the monster and herself.
"Same curious thought here. What in the fuck are you?" The man asked and sprint ran towards the witch barely giving her time to recover.
"Uhgh-" The witch choked as the hand gripped her neck with a force triple that of a lion biting into an animal flesh.
"Will this snap if I do this?" The hand squeezed, the nails scrapped at the neck as the woman's body hovered some inches above the ground flailing her arms around miserably, trying to grab at his wrists.
The purple blue eyes grew darker as the seconds passed. Where are the teeth? Or is he human? The thoughts interrupted him from completely digging into her windpipe. Pfft, a human with this strength, snap out of it!
A moment passed and his eyes focused on something that stuck out from the large over coat's pocket that the woman had strapped on for her journey this cool breezy night, her robes had transformed into normal looking light brown over coat.
Is that a magic wand? Feeling too flabbergasted, he forgot the situation he was in.
In a sec, the witch fell on the ground as the man cursed and stumbled backwards. The witch had successfully stabbed the man in his left rib side, earning herself an escape route.
What a rough night!
Little did he know, the night had just begun.
⚜️
The wind howled. The terror increased tenfold as footsteps continued to echo. The street lights flickered over the pitch black night as the clouds made it their mission to hide every single star of the night increasing the anonymous vibes for the time.
"Over there?" A voice whisper echoed making the unknown man, taller than other intimidating men to halt seizing others movements as well.
"For the last time, stop whispering like we are committing a crime or something." The voice echoed slapping back at the three men.
"You sure make it sound like it." The whine just earned a glare. A quick whip of air made the tiniest man among them whimper as the dark green eyes of the man fell on him. The man who seemed to be leading them.
"Fine. No more 'bullshitting' Kayden..." The wind blew past them, almost making them move with it. It was the end of the summer season. No more hot summer bodies.
"Are you kidding me!?" The man asked irritatedly.
"What?"
"God! Why are you even with me?"
"Not god and you won't like the answer to that-"
"No. It was a rhetorical question! Ugh!"
The man shifted on his feet, almost in an attempt to calm down the pissed man.
"Whoa! Okay. Hang in there. The torture is almost over."
"Just shut up Alec, don't make me kill you instead." The threat seemed to work when a cheeky snort interrupted the atmosphere making the other man pass a chuckle.
"Yeah, you can try... But you won't get me. Hah! I'm like a snake, come get me."
"..."
"Always tripping."
And just like that, one pissed off man and the other hilarious guys walked past the silent streets in the SuperMart and bought themselves a fresh supply of animal blood to quench the unhelpful thirst engraved in their genes.
⚜️
"Remind me why we have to go all the way just to get these?" Alec spoke settling down in a purple comfy couch as Kayden loosened his shirt collar.
"'Cuz my father said so, now you can piss off and leave me alone." Kayden grumbled grabbing the blood bags and stuffing them in the freezer.
Seems like he has guests coming over. So late... Nothing's ever too late for him though.
"But it smells so good." Kayden whipped his head to see Alec almost in the freezer. A butt slap and he grabbed Alec from around the back of his shirt collar dragging him over the hallway and almost out the door.
"Ah, ah! Okay!" Alec whined struggling like an octopus.
"Fucking stop that and get-" Kayden almost had it until the cute puppy eyes of Alec dug holes in him.
"I... It's not working, bye!" And with that Kayden shut the door on his face.
⚜️
"Yes. Right this way." Kayden was stunned by the strong scent in the hallway. What in the hell- his thoughts cut off as his father coughed. It was 3 in the morning.
"Kay, I'll be in my room and not to be disturbed."
Kayden looked around rubbing his neck trying hard not to stare at the handsome as ever intimidating man twice his age who stood beside his father.
"Okay." He mumbled nodding slightly.
"It's on the left, if you would follow me. Oh and Kay..." His father turned his attention from the visitor to his son.
"Bring the blood, I'm starving. It's been a hell of a day." With that he was left standing there near the stairs of the hallway by himself.
⚜️
He had been standing there, outside his father's study room on the first floor across his own room in this villa-like house.
Debating whether to step in or just knock and leave it on the doorsteps, afterall his father had mentioned not to be disturbed but also demanded the blood. This had stopped bothering Kayden after he had aimed at just minding his own business. Who was he even kidding?
"You can come in, Kayden." The voice set him apart from his thinking world.
Definitely not my father.
"I can almost smell you from across the door child."
Okay, weird. Psycho.
Kayden's senses tingled with what he couldn't even understand? That's new. He was known to be hypersensitive to unknown stuff. Especially the likes of what sat with his father across the closed door. The one he has had many encounters with in the past as well. Rogue ones.
With a light tap on the door, Kayden entered, his head slightly hung low. The dominating person being just a puppet under his father's, the one who had been expected to be a rebel and to throw off his father. Little did the people know, Kayden turned out to be the most cherished son of all.
"Thank you son. You can sit down over there. We'd like to discuss something, both of us." Kayden blinked, trying hard not to stare at the man comfortable in the huge chair opposite his fathers'.
"I-"
"Son, we'll be needing you more than anyone or anything." The man looked at the blood sitting there in the glass half sipped at. "If that reason is not good enough, you can leave." The man said it effortlessly as if he had sensed the uneasiness.
"Okay."
The talk lasted longer than they had expected. The visitor left more pleased and with a light heart. It was always a good thing to share the burdensome things. Always in the traditions of how to build trust bridges among different people of different worlds.
⚜️
"Why is that little servant of no good!" An annoyed voice groaned walking down towards the kitchen, throwing open the refrigerator for something pleasant to drink.
"Emma!?" He shouted and his voice resonated, making him groan again.
"She's on leave. I'm amazed how you forget stuff you're told." Kayden walked past him to pour himself a glass of water.
"And what does this bitch want?" Kayden sipped the blood in his glass, unamused at his elder brother's words.
"Some peace would be lovely for now."
"Still the same, hmm."
"Learnt it from you brother."
"And I said not to call me brother, you sewer rat! You don't belong here and you're certainly not my brother!" Kayden put his hands up as his brother had a fist full of his t-shirt in his hand.
"Seems like a load of bull-"
"Leave him alone Mizuke. It's not worth it." That voice belonged to his other elder twin step brother, Sazuke. Yup, a beautiful family he had become a part of and he had zero regrets. He could deal with his step brother's spoiled temper all his life if he could get to stay next to his adoptive father.
"So, I heard... You're going there today right?"
"Yeah, after noon, why?" Kayden voiced monotonously.
"Nothing, this time we won't be there." There seemed to be a hint of guilt.
"Oh for God's sake!" Mizuke groaned throwing shit glares at Kayden.
"I heard. This won't be easy."
"But something I have to do anyway. It's better if you don't come in the way. If you'll excuse me. I got shit to catch up to, brothers."
This had been the most calm moment Kayden had gotten to spend in the list of somewhat calming moments he had spent with his twin elder step-brothers.
Kayden didn't need to give or have any more reasons for them to be like this, his whole existence spoke for himself and he had reached the time to look beyond that, to be less irritated and done with it.
His 26th birthday was the only reminder of him being the last only person of his race, claimed in a rich and well known house of vampires; The only reason his father kept him close to himself like a part of his own shadow. In the dark for the bright future that was promised ahead.
