Chapter 2
The day went by so fast, Ryan hadn't even realized it. The sun had drowned behind the gigantic bunch of trees surrounding where he had settled for the day, enjoying his alone time by a stream of cool water, totally flustered at his own capability to be amazed by nature.
Giving a last stir in the calm edgy water of the dipping still pond of the running stream, he drew his legs out breathing in deeply. What was this feeling? He was used to coming here and visiting this secret spot of his' in the deep forest, then why did he miss it every other day?
The birds had already flown home, what an interesting sight of all times, Ryan had thought. The night seemed to have drawn on as he stared at the darkening sky wearing a deep purple black shade.
Should I head back?
Somehow this feeling to go back always seemed to close up on him, choking him. Dad isn't gonna be home, why am I being a wuss? Don't worry though sis is gonna make sure I get my daily lessons.
Soon, the lights peaked out through the trees, the whole sanctuary, small huts secured within the dept of this deep forest were lit as if celebrating something special.
Ryan walked by, people looked at him and smiled in return. What a mess are these people... Shouldn't have been wrong, but their giggles made him shrug inwardly, their high pitched squeals made him stay a bit away from them trying to maintain his one in a million not an awkward smile.
He adored nature yet people repulsed him. Nature could be repulsive at times but people?
Just a bit more walking and the house was in sight and what a sight it was. Who's having a party without me and in my own house? Ryan stomped over, with a raised eyebrow trying hard not to throw a fit, how long had it been since he had seen such a sight of the pack house?
"What the-"
No it wasn't only the front of the pack house that shook him, it was the backyard that strectched to acres of land. Looks like dad threw a buffet party, what's up with the menu!? He scanned the area and a shriek shook him.
"No, not there!"
Jesus! Sis!
"Are you deaf!? Seriously!" Ryan walked off towards the voice.
"Yes!" Oh...
His sis was using the mind-link out loud. Well... So much for the mind-link being a sacred thing for spiritual connection. Ryan scoffed at the thought which made his sister notice him.
"And thank you so much for gracing us with your presence, oh! How did you know we'd not even move a single step without you?" She spoke folding her arms over her small bulging breast her nose flarring up almost ready to breathe out fire.
"As if. I'm awfully sorry? Does that cut it?" Ryan reached his neck in an awkward manner and rubbed it. It's true, he had lost track of time, and he was also sure Diana wasn't buying any of his apologies today if she was being this sarcastic.
"No sorry today mister. Not gonna say because of you but yes, today, because of you we came to know how you weren't in your place when everyone else was here and introduced."
"Eh? Introduced? Who? What's going on?" Ryan almost earned a smack from his sister.
"And I was nagging Mickey to be on time and keep watch on you."
"Yeah, since we have a more interesting topic Mickey, do you know where he is?" Ryan asked looking around. Everyone must be inside, he thought rubbing his hands together.
"Nope. Today, he's not the topic of our conversation. It's you. How come you miss this pre-planed event?"
"This was pre-planed?" Ryan asked mischievously.
"You pull my legs, I pull yours. Come here!" Dianna smacked him and dragged him in by linking her arm with his'.
*****
"So I'm the one only left?" Ryan asked curious after all the story talking his sis did on their way in and up the pack house, it was a 4 storey architectural piece of beauty inhabited by the only werewolves of this area of planet Earth. Yes. Werewolves. Half part human, half wolf.
Damn- that's a strong scent-
"No, not only you. Him too."
"Who?" Ryan's ears perked up, the curiosity hitting him like bricks. This scent- The weak scent stuck to his nose buds like a drug making him see the yummy scent trail ahead.
"Well, the thing is after all the pairing was done, he was the only one left, also, he kept giving off strange vibes..."
Pairing? "Strange vibes? What do you mean? Slow down." Ryan noticed some people moving around as he took the hallway following his sis.
Weird people.
Just stares and nods were thrown his way as he kept moving, his small nose twitching ever so lightly.
What an exciting scent! No. No, it's not.
"Everyone was connected at the core and somehow his' continued to shift."
"Sis, I'm completely lost here. What the hell do you mean by connected at core? I thought- oh okay. I get it. It's that!" Ryan almost shrieked gasping at his own words.
"I've already mentioned the allience, I'm not repeating. Also did I mention vamps, here, tonight?" Diana's lips curled up as she opened the door to this huge room swarming with people.
Oh boy, and I thought only the outside was weird. Scents everywhere, except that particular one... So sweeett... Blue.
"Vamps..." Ryan mumbled taking in the sight. The being he had longed to get a look at. The being in Diana's stories that always had him dying of curiosity whenever she used to read it to him.
Would it feel like how she had described?
