We rushed back to the portal, but it was already closed.
Turning to Alistair, Ethan asked, "Didn't you say it wouldn't close unless a sacrifice was made?"
"Yes, but the girl is already inside. She's considered a sacrifice!" Alistair mumbled.
"Damn it!" Alfred grunted, stamping his big foot heavily against the floor. He bit his index finger and began pacing around.
"We have to get her back or else Pyrrha will destroy everyone and everything!" he lamented.
"How can we get in?" Ethan asked.
Alistair trudged weakly to the edge of a table and rested on it, sighing heavily. One could tell from her stressed look and labored breath how exhausted she was.
Finally, she spoke.
"It's a perilous journey. It's dangerous. I suggest you let go of the girl. Losing one is better than losing all…"
