Chapter 1 - 00

"An angel… I am… your angel."

The cold breeze caressed his weary face, drooping down to meet the bustling city floors below. His numb gaze subtly followed the tiny figures of people going about their own normal lives. The sensation was a familiar detachment. He paid no heed as he himself was stuck in his own mind.

Your angel. Those words had lingered in his head like a missing past he had once cherished. A past which had built him so.

There was the soft crème-colored hair that loosely tumbled down her shoulders to whatever length it reached. The girl kept her soft eyes like melted gold on him. The blinding lights; although so bright, it was all the more comforting. Yes, this same memory that ate him up every single day burned ever the brighter that day.

That was the last memory he had. The last thing he remembered as he sat quietly in his dark empty room every other day, his mother's soft sobs drowned away in his heavy mind.

And ever since then, he had wondered.

Another rush of breeze embraced him. He managed to limply lift his head towards the grey cloud-adorned sky and debated for a while. What he thought of did not show on his lost face but it had settled in him. Etched so deep that he, at the end, smiled.

Fifteen years of searching for the source of the surreal feeling that had enveloped him had shown him no result.

After all…

Where do angels stay?

He looked up at the vividly illuminating sun with all the clouds piling on one another.

That's right.

His foot felt the free air.

Heaven.

And he was falling. Every single part of him succumbed to the harsh air that violently tore into him. He liked it. The rush of feelings that comes with placing the final piece, the unfamiliar adrenaline that burnt him, and the harsh wind that woke him up... it hurt.

"Wake up…"

His vision blurred.

"Tsu."

His head throbbed. His eyes were brimmed with realization as his mind slowly cleared; the memories, words, the sensation itself dissolved into nothing more. His heart raced. Reality seemed to have caught up, throwing away every sense of delusion he had taken so much of a liking for years and years away. Just like that.

He had everything.

Everything flashed in and out of him. Hatred and envy, side by side, sparked and so were those noises. Those hectic noises of realization and at the bottom of all those stood the worst of them all: shame, hate, and regret.

He had lost everything once he felt the burning impact and the somehow scorching hot asphalt.

So fast. Too fast. He couldn't take anything in. Confusion rang through every part of him.

Pain flashed through him so hellish. Voices blurred around him as people from all sides rushed over. His vision blurred.

A wish. Do you have a wish?

And as his eyes gave in to the numbness, he felt it.

Is that so?

Life.

He died.
