The knight and the princess got to a cave to catch their breaths. "Do you think she would be able to hold them off?" The knight asked in concern. The princess smiled. "Don't worry, its Agnolia the strongest Mage we are talking about here, she would handle them just fine like fodder. Anyway guide the entrance as I prepare to summon him." "Yes milady, but I have a question, why can't lady Agnolia summon the hero?" "Well, she might be the most powerful mage but she needs to be connected to royalty in order to cast the other worldly spell. She can do it but she has dark powers which might corrupt the summoned. I hope she comes soon, I feel like all my powers would go away by this summoning."
The knight went outside and patrolled the area holding his sword tightly while observing the princess.
She drew a magic circle with a triangle inside and she took her dagger and cut her hand sending blood to the circle. The circle glowed bright and began to grow big. "Help me my goddess, find him, find the sacred hero."
Suddenly she heard grunts and clanking of swords. "Oh no, some got through and the summoning isn't complete yet." A masked man entered into the cave, he packed a handful of sand and threw it on the magic circle. "No!" She yelled as the circle closed up. The man grinned. "Now no one will come save you princess, no one opposes our empress and lives." He raised his sword to strike her but a flaming sword stuck to his throat rendered him dumb. He fell and Emile saw Agnolia. "Agnolia I am sorry. He stopped the summoning." Agnolia studied the magic circle. "No, he is already here." Emile was shocked. But he was supposed to appear here. Emile said in a shocked tone. Yes, but the guard wasn't able to stop his coming, he was only able to change the direction. Don't worry I will start the location spell but I need to link to your goddess energy, you know I don't worship her. The knight comes in battered and bruised but alive. What do you need my ladies?
Tsuoma struggled to open his eyes. And when he did he found himself in a desert. He wondered how he got there. He tried remembering what happened to him but nothing came to him. His mind went blank. He suddenly felt someone wanting to take something from his hand. He gripped the hand and stood up pinning the figure down and was shocked to see her. It was Teruki.
"Teruki what are you doing here, did you die with me, is this heaven."
He asked rushing his words and Teruki placed her finger on his mouth. "Quiet down Tsuoma, why don't you try to figure out what happened to you, that's it, calm down loose yourself and remember.". Then he remembered.
☢︎︎
In a white plane, the place is beautified by luminescent stars. The place is void and we see a boy with his eyes closed floating in the emptiness. He suddenly jerks awake to see himself floating.
"Welcome hero." A voice as calm as the sea said and he heard it from every direction. He touched his body and was shocked to discover his body was still intact. So this wasn't the after life, so where was he?
"You are in the ethereal plane, where spirits arrive before going to their final destination and I am the goddess of reincarnation and summoning, my dear boy Tsuoma."
Tsuoma was shocked. How did she know his name and thought? The feminine voice chuckled. "That's the first question you ask. I will first remind you on why you are here, now relax, calm your mind and remember."
He suddenly held his head as images began fleeting inside his head and then he remembered.
"My best friend killed me." Then he kneeled down and wept.
"It's ok, you have been given a second chance, but you can't return to your home world, instead I will put you into a fantasy world of magic. What do you say to starting over as an hero in another world."
Tsuoma thought about it for a few minutes and then accepted.
"Okay my boy you can choose one occupation in the other world. You will gain the abilities that comes with it, all it's strengths and weaknesses. They are: mage, summoner, warrior, holy knight, human, supernatural creatures like…"
"I choose my sword." He said cutting her short.
"What, a crude weapon like that can't do anything in that world, magic is what rules there and also you have to be an holy knight if you want to wield a sword, I can forge you a new sword befitting the new world."
Tsuoma grated his teeth and clenched his fists. "It's my sword or nothing, I can never ever part with my sword."
The goddess saw his determination by his steely eyes. She had never seen someone so devoted to something.
"Well I will grant your wish and since you are not a selfish one, I shall grant you something else inorder to survive the next world.
Choose among this three. Instant grappling of magic, which means you will immediately know how to use magic. Geographical knowledge, which means you will gain a magic eye in order to know all about a place. The last is holy knight physiology, that is powers and abilities of holy knight with usage of powers related with me."
Tsuoma imagined the use of all three abilities. Gaining magic instantly wasn't bad but what if the magic he gained was the limit, his sword would disappear since he would become a mage who doesn't need a sword. If he became an holy knight, he would only be able to use magic weapons and armor, more or less an human with weapons. But if he chose geography insight, he could use it to his advantage, he would be able to plan an escape immediately. That was a better weapon and he could keep his sword.
"I choose the second skill. Geographical knowledge."
The goddess nodded. "Very well Tsuoma, your wish is granted."
A white light surrounded Tsuoma and he gradually began getting sucked into the light.
"I will be watching you, if you need my help, send me a summon anytime. Farewell brave hero and let your new adventure begins."
Tsuoma opened his eyes and discovered he was laid down on the sand. His blue eyes roved around and he discovered he was in a desert. His brown long hair is in a ponytail form. His muscular frame make creaking sounds as bones rattled on each other. His long legs struggled to get him up and his hand traces his back and he discovered a sword bag was slunged on his shoulder. He removed it and saw his sword inside glowing with the ray of the sun, his sword looked modified and he was sure it was the work of the goddess. He grinned and put it back on his shoulder then surveyed his surroundings. His blue eyes glowed and changed to a gold circle with thirty six parts, with the black dot still intact. His eyes moved all over the desert, he saw a place with a sandstorm, monsters attacking themselves. Further he saw a city and he began to salivate as the prospect of eating something came to him. His eyes moved again and he saw her. He wasn't sure but he knew it had to be her. She was on him, a trait like Teruki's.
''Teruki, Teruki wake up." Teruki woke to the sound of a female. The voice was calm like a storm. She saw herself in a white plane just like the one Tsuoma was. "Why didn't you leave him?" The goddess asked. Teruki's stare could have caused a slumbering volcano to erupt. "Wherever he goes I go." She replied.
The goddess was speechless. First she wondered how Teruki could have appeared in the celestial plane. Then she knew, Teruki's soul was intertwined with that of Tsuoma which was a strange thing for her. "Fine I will allow you passage to where he is, but what do you want to take to the next world?" The goddess said as she conjured a cup of water which she passed to Teruki who slurped it in one gulp. She cleaned her mouth before replying. "I choose to be a mage who wields the sword."
The goddess waved her hands. "Your wish has been granted, now go, prosper in the new world."
"I can't believe you followed me, Teruki." Tsuoma said as he stood upright. "Who cares," she replied. "As long as I get to be with, and take care of you, that should suffice right. And besides you said you would never leave me and we always will be together."
Tsuoma sighed as his geographical eyes flashed. "We are about to get attacked by what the hell, is that an elephant horse."
Teruki's confused demeanour would have made a pagan have a rethink about his faith. "What I mean is that, we are about to get crushed by a dual specie. It has an elephant's head plus tusk and trunk but an horse's leg."
Tsuoma drew out his sword and took a stance ready to attack the beast, he took in a breath and stated at Teruki's front. "Start making up spells, I will keep it busy with my unparalleled sword skills."
Teruki groaned as she started creating a spell. She had to try, she had chosen to be a mage, she needed to create spells. Lots of red magic circles floated around her as she assembled them. The beast was getting closer. Suddenly the beast appeared right before them and used it's trunk to fold Tsuoma who didn't have time to raise his sword. The beast hit him on the floor several times creating little craters until a massive fire ball hit it hard making it release Tsuoma who struggling to stand on his feet.
"Fire bomb." Teruki chanted as more fire balls hit the beast but without much effect.
The duo were shocked. Tsuoma got his sword out and used it to slash the beast but it only had a cut which pissed it off.
The beast raised its legs stamping them on the floor encasing the area with blinding sand.
"Light golden lances." From above a big golden magic circle appeared and from it, many lances fell on the beast pummeling it down and raising a lot of dust. The beast was dead.
Tsuoma and Teruki looked at their back to see a young boy of Tsuoma's age amid others younger or of the same age. Tsuoma was shocked as he didn't see them through his geographical eyes.
The lead boy had short green wavy hair and blue eyes, he also wore a cloak concealing his shirt and trousers underneath, pointing to the beast, smiled and said. "That costs one hundred dalfs." Tsuoma and Teruki could only look in shock.
