"how did you get this strong?" I asked as the silence got a bit awkward. We had covered about 15 miles still searching for Aspen and the others.
"It's natural, I was born of two gods." She said and stared at me holding a prideful look.
We walked down the quiet road as I searched my mind for something to talk about to clear the silence. We took a right turn and in front of us was a group of masked men holding bows and arrows.
"Get to safety aliens are everywhere." I yelled but they didn't budge. The looked like petty criminals who only scare old grand moms to collect their purses.
Tiana spread open her arms and fire enveloped them. The men drew their bows at the same time and fired. I quickly ran to take cover as the arrows whistled past my location. i heard grunting sounds and sped to the scene to take them out but getting there, Tiana was done.
"That was fast." I said.
"These ones are the weak ones." She said and sighed.
"Who are they?" I asked and Tiana bent down and pulled one of their hoodies off revealing a branding on his neck.
"Herites!" She said and stood upright.
"These are eirwen weakest men. If what I'm thinking is what's about to happen then what happened last year is about to take another turn this year." She said.
"We'll stop him for good this time!" I said courageously and she gave me a weak smile.
"He has an armada so vast that if he wished, he could conquer the entire nine realms and make it his." She said and we proceeded.
"Then why is he hesitant?" I asked.
"Three things; one is me. the second is the book of reversal magic HEX. and lastly, he's scared of what Elsa will do if he takes the advantage to do so." She said.
"You think you can stop him?" I teased and she chuckled.
"I didn't say I could stop him, he's my uncle so he needs the blood of a herite woman to create his ultimate weapon and it's not like he can collect it from Elsa!" She said as we came to a stop. We were already hearing fighting sounds.
We ran to the scene only to see the others already engaged in a fight of their own. We ran to Aspen and stayed beside him.
"Eirwen is coming back!" Aspen said.
My heart raced as soon as I heard that. The man who led the attack that cost my parents was returning back.
"A pinch of his armies has taken over this city and it would take us at least a week to cleanse them. The principal didn't tell me this was the situation before she told me to assign five teenagers to their deaths." Aspen said but this time his voice was more serious and tense.
"We won't survive?" I asked with a shaky voice. He said five that meant Tiana would survive but the rest of us would be toast pretty soon.
"Noo.." he said and held a reassuring smile.
"Just don't pick fights that you'll lose." He said and giggled as we watched the others fight an endless swarm of aliens.
"I have a feeling we'd win this war that Eirwen has proposed on us." He said.
I stood my ground and closed my eyes, the scream of my mother that day sent my heart into despair and there was nothing I could do to save them that day. If only I had my powers then, they'd have been alive.
I slowly walked forwards into the heat of battle. That day my mother died was the day my world ended so if I was to die on the battlefield today, it's be worth it. I took my position and sped off. I rammed two of them and approached Finn who was fighting off two others with his water powers. I grabbed one by the neck and ran him through a wall.
I sped back to grab the second one and slammed his face to the ground. I ran to the rooftop and placed my arm above the other and sent electricity into the building and it exploded and just then I heard a sharp sound that sent me into the falling building. I grabbed a piece of metal to gain my balance as I leaped from one piece of the building to another.
As I landed, I could perceive blood lust but from who? and then I saw a masked man like the one that we encountered earlier. I charged my fist but landed into a punch right on my chin and I was sent through a glass window. I slowly stood up but he was already in front of me. He grabbed Me by the shirt leaving his entire body open.
I utilized the opening charging my other arm and sent a punch to his chest but he was unphased. He tossed me out of the building and onto the floor. He leaped into the air approaching me but I sped off before he could crash on me.
Coward
That word rang in my ear and I halted and sped back. Coward? No I was regrouping. I could feel my legs going faster and in an instant I sped through the man and he was nothing but blood. I came to halt and began to gasp for air. I could feel the glow in my eyes as the color of the atmosphere changed from black to blue.
I clenched my fist as blood dripped from my forehead. I stared at my clenched fist as it shone. I felt a tap and slowly turned to see Eric. He must have found it hard to fight that man as they used some kind of anti-shockwave earbuds to conceal their Hearing.
I gave him a reassuring smile as I held my sides to get control of my weakened body. He assisted me to join the others.
"That was great!" Aspen said and clapped but nobody found it heroic.
We walked towards a building to seek refuge and since I healed fast, I was already feeling better and good to go again. We began to hear rumblings from a distance.
"This is not going to be great!" Aspen said holding a worried look.
Before we could ask, there was an explosion and I was sent flying into an abandoned shopping mall. I hit my back hard on the receptionist's deck and I sat back to nurse my pain. Everywhere was dark and I could hardly see anything. I slowly got up on my feet and sprinted towards the site of the explosion but there was nobody there. It must have separated all of us.
I proceeded to run using the alleyways but I stumbled upon three of the men we've been facing earlier but this time, their blood lust was even higher than the others. Once of them clapped his hand and pointed them to me.
"You again." They said in unison. It was rather unusual so I stood my ground in an attack position.
