I stood holding my stance as I gave them a hard glare. The one in the middle sped towards me and with a hard punch, I was sent flying into the building I'd just came out from. I stood up to catch my breath and I spat out blood almost immediately. Winning this battle would be harder than I expected. I took off as it was a handicap. I could tell they were chasing after me.
My body had already started healing and I kept running. My fists began to recharge and I turned back and leaped into the air almost immediately. I slammed them on the ground and a massive shockwave was emitted sending the three men flying back. I knew that was my opportunity. I ran into their midst taking out the one on my right first. I used my knee to drive his head into a poking iron on the wall.
Another one sprinted to me and made to attack but his attacks were slowed down and I noticed the surge of electricity in me . I grabbed his arm and drew hit further towards me and returned it with an elbow of my own.
The one that had led the charge attempted to attack me as soon as he noticed I was quite busy. I could read his every attacks so I knew the right counter to use. His attacks were suspended in the air. I grabbed him by the shirt and ran him halfway across the city and left him almost off a cliff and then sped back.
Well taken care of. It was time to join the others. I began to run without stop even though I was tired and my superspeed was refusing to work. I just kept sprinting hoping to find someone I knew.
As I ran, my gaze caught a female figure on a roof disposing a body. I sprinted into the house and made my way to the stairs. I couldn't afford letting it know I was coming. I soon got to the rooftop and to my surprise it was Tasha. She sat on the chimney.
"Hey!" She said in her rather childish voice.
"Hey__ sh_shouldn't you be down there doing something to wipe out these 'things'." I said and placed my arm on my neck.
"Damn bro, have you seen those things? They move in groups and they have the same powers." She yelled and looked away.
"Wasn't that why you signed up to be a hero?" I asked making sure it didn't seem like I was prying.
"I'll be fine on the roof." She said and gave me a mischievous smile. I chuckled weakly as I powered the house so that I could use the elevator when going back down. My healing processing soon began as I could sense electricity in my feet.
I walked two streets after I had left Tasha. It seemed like I was walking in circles because I could see our Limousine. I looked around me and I sighed. I took a breath in and sped off and to my surprise I came back to the spot I had started from. Was I in someone's imagination or something. I slowly began to hear my name although it was faint but soon it became clear.
"Aspen!__." My weak voice called out. I took a step and my vision was quite whitish right before I saw the entire team in front of me.
"Guys?" I was confused. Few minutes ago we were all separated and now we're together?
"You're back." Aspen said and wrapped his arm around my neck.
"Where'd I go?" I asked and he chuckled.
"That man_." Aspen pointed and I looked in front of me to see a man in all black with a scarf covering his nose and mouth. He had a katana strapped to his back and another one in his right hand. He was dressed like an assassin except he had a robe on. I could see within his robe that there were knives and other short range weapons strapped to his clothing. His hair was a bit spiky but it was still packed in a ponytail. His aura emitted pure evil.
"You looked into his eyes and you began to hallucinate." Aspen said and smiled at me. Everyone stood as if the man would attack them anytime soon. I could also notice that he had bodyguards around him and they looked like the men we'd been killing since we arrived.
"He has the devil's eyes??" I asked and Aspen nodded twice. my jaw dropped in amusement. Within me, I held a high stake that Eric would be able to match him since the both of them used the same technique.
"In that case." My voice changed and I stepped in front of the team. I took my stance ready to speed off at the given time. Ryder drew his sword and his eye color changed as he took a swordsman stance.
"Charge!" I said and sped off and in a moment I saw lives flashing before my eyes as the man was no longer there. Everything became in audible even my vision became blurry.
I could feel a part of me falling and in a moment, I saw my body fall on its knees while my head rolled aside. I'd been decapitated. The last thing I saw were people running towards me while I succumbed to death.

I opened my eyes and In a barren but snowy land. I placed my hand on my neck and it was fine. The only restriction I had was the snow and there didn't seem to be any shelter any where close. I tried to run but my speed was gone. I heaved and began to wade through the snow.
"Continue on that path and you'll find the gate to the afterlife." A very familiar voice said and I turned back slowly. A beautiful figure was seated on a heap of snow. Her hair was dark and so was the outfit she wore.
"If you decide to stay here, your soul would rot and never be reborn." She said. Her voice were soothing.
"I wasn't supposed to die__ It was an error__ I want to go back and correct it." I yelled
She smiled and stood up.
"Richard!" She called. I was already feeling so scared. I had to become strong and avenge my parents and I haven't even gotten close to any hint. If I die now it'll be a disaster.
"I suggest you leave now. Every second you spend here would only add to your suffering." She said again and my heart melted and I could feel heat surging though me.
"Help me!" I said as I dropped my head in despair.
"I don't wanna die." A tear dropped from my eye.
She approached me and raised my head up to look at her.
"Death is good thing_ you're finally at peace with your soul and can now rest from the torments of life." She said.
"you don't understand__." I started.
"My mom was murdered alongside my dad. Even my younger sister was no exception. My whole family was annihilated right in front of me and their killer still lurks." I said as more tears began to drop.
"How do you think my family would be if they found out I didn't take down their killer." I said and she stepped back and sat down with her legs crossed.
"You can stay here and cultivate with me." She said and didn't pester me anymore. I heaved and used the back of my palm to wipe my face.
I straightened my clothes and set out facing the direction she'd given me earlier.
