He had school though. Classes. And she had an event. He would have to investigate further after dinner. He forced his palm back at Noah, but not directly at him. It smashed into a pillar right behind him, fragmenting into pieces. Noah was shocked and stunned. He stood there, not doing anything before finally gathering the courage to turn around. A rock slamming into a wall would just produce a sound. A rock disintegrating upon contact with a wall required astounding force. After staring at the dust for the longest time, Noah finally turned to face him again. His trophy friend was long gone. Tiffany. That was the name Noah muttered. It was silent but he still heard it. He had seen Tiffany react the moment she heard the rock hitting the pillar behind them. She ran without looking back.
Noah was visibly trembling and his face was white to the bone. He was rich and influential, maybe not so much as Megan, but definitely more then him. However, both of those were useless in front of a monster with brute strength and precision. If he was just strong and nothing else, Noah would risk it. However, he was strong and precise. The moment Noah made a run for it, he would be fatally injured if not permanently crippled so the man just stood there, waiting for approval from him.
He didn't do anything else. Just stared at Noah deeply before getting into the car. She wrapped her arm around his head and kissed him again. He turned the key, pulled the stick, and the engine roared as he drove out of the parking lot. Noah was too scared to look at them, even though he saw it.
He turned right and merged into the sea of cars heading off to wherever people normally went.

College was just another place you had to be for a few years before you went off to the next place. Grades mattered, to a certain extent. What was more important were your practical skills and completed projects. If you were connected, that was ninety percent of the entire experience. They had discussed this on the way there. She would offer support once he made his mind up, but while he was in the process of searching, she would not throw money away freely. He agreed so he said nothing. After that, she told him about her own life before he asked.
Her father built his empire through one lucky connection. Dorn. Her mother was Eclaire. Dorn didn't want their daughter to resemble him in name and Eclaire agreed so they settled on Megan. It meant smart, brilliant, brutal girl in an obscure language, ironically. She had grown up surrounded by luxury and praise. All artificial. None of it reflected her but her father and their family. That's why she decided to become an engineer instead of being a socialite or a supermodel, even though hundreds of influencer's and agents reached out to her. She wanted to prove her worth, that she wasn't just another daughter of some rich man. She attended the social events because some well known engineers had made it big on their inventions. She wanted to connect with them and no one else.
She was supposed to meet one of them, a young woman called Blair. A mechanical engineer who specialized in luxury vehicles. Couldn't afford one. Couldn't even get a loan to make payments. Built one instead. Became the fifth most popular model in the world. Then people wanted to invest, saying it was the best car in the world. Blair smiled, gave her best superficial impression. Inside, she didn't like any of it but it made her rich so she continued to do it.
Megan was rejected by Blair on their first meeting. Thought she was the same as the rest. Wanted the cars and not the person. She had to work on a huge project and at their third social event, presented it to Blair. That's how she became a mentor underneath this world famous mechanical engineer.
They would meet this week on Saturday. She asked him if he could attend, for support. He agreed. He had nothing to do anyways and how could he refuse a beauty? He got off at campus and she took over and drove to her next destination, another social event. She told him exactly what she was going to do because she felt like telling him. It wasn't a trust issue. It was an 'I want to share everything I have with you' sort of thing. He was happy to hear it. Happy to hear a girl as attractive as Megan share that much with a regular guy like him. A regular guy who was nothing before yesterday.
He himself was applying to be a scientist. In some ways, a scientist and an engineer were compatible. They both worked to solve complex issues. One dealt with the world while the other dealt with people. The world was limitless while people were limited. Both helped to build this college, probably, but engineers did more of the work and it showed. Once you got your bachelor's, or your master's, or your PhD, then you were on your own. People would stop providing you with benefits and set you loose everywhere. People couldn't cure diseases but science could. People couldn't solve all your problems. Only you could. For now though, all he could do was depend on people to fulfill his own desires.
Biology and Chemistry were on Monday. Two heavy subjects with an hour in-between. After that, he would usually stay on campus but now, he would be picked up by her right after and they would have lunch somewhere else. A restaurant she liked.
But things didn't go so smoothly and she didn't mind. She was more worried about him then anything else.
Biology was from 8 A.M. to 11 A.M. A three hour class and then nothing until the next week. They had to partner with someone, even though it could be done with one person, and currently, most of the women were looking at him, eagerly waiting for him to choose one of them to be his partner. All the guys also looked at him, with rage and resentment. He glanced the men over first, to avoid unnecessary trouble before picking some guy who called himself Alex. Now that he had Megan, he lost the desire to interact with other women. They didn't roll their eyes, or sigh, or call him dumb. They continued to look at him with excitement, almost like they were waiting to be picked again in the future. He wouldn't do that, probably, not unless he was assigned one automatically. This didn't stop a few guys from not letting go. One of them, introduced himself as Barry, approached him with an unfriendly attitude.
"Hey, little friend over here. I and my boys want to have a talk with you outside. What you say?"
Sounded urban, ghetto. Nearly everybody looked at them. They felt pity for him. Understandable. He just ignored the guy and continue discussing the project with his partner. This did not go well with Barry who slammed his fist on the desk. Anger issues. Not a threat. Just an angry guy pretending to be tough.
