Rufardo soon saw a huge figure walked out of the smoke. The armor of the horned demon was somewhat shining with eerie blood red light.
"What? Im... impossible! How did this demon bastard managed to survive the direct hit from the sun strike?"
Rufardo's eyes were filled with shock and panic. This was his most powerful skill. He had used up all of his mana just to activate this skill. Now, his mana was greatly exhausted as he was panting heavily.
The horned demon was not dead. In fact, it did not even look injured at all. The blood seemed to be swimming inside the horned demon's armor for a short time before it returned to normal like nothing happened.
"That armor is strange."
Rufardo felt the weapon and armor of this horned demon were far higher grade than his own.
"These giant waraxe and armor. They seem to be at least continent grade weapons."
Rufardo shook his head painfully. Meanwhile, Derroth also looked at his blood armor with admiration.
The armor and weapon that his demon god granted him had tremendous power that he could never dreamed of having. His respect and fanatical devotion towards Adrosiean increased further.
Rufardo clenched his sword tightly. Derroth did not waste anymore time and lashed out. Rufardo gritted his teeth. He gathered his remaining strength to block the incoming strike for the last time.
"Arghhhhhhh!"
Rufardo was greatly exhausted already. He could not block Derroth's attack and his right hand was cut down by the waraxe upon impact.
"No! I won't fall this easily!"
Rufardo quickly grabbed the sword back with his left hand and pointed towards the sky.
"I will at least let the world know of this! For humanity!"
With his last resolve, he gathered all the power of the solar weapon. A blinding cluster of light shot towards the sky like a firework.
However before the light cluster could reach high into the sky and explode, a pitch black spear with a trail of darkness flew out like a jet and destroyed the light cluster.
There was no explosion nor any commotion upon impact. The light cluster was swallowed by the darkness like a mini black hole and disappeared completely.
Rufardo looked over at the person who shot the black spear. It was a black robed cultist standing by himself. Rufardo could not see his face clearly.
He could not even sense a single aura from that cultist. If this was normal times, Rufardo would think he was a normal human.
The black robed cultist gazed back at Rufardo. Rufardo felt a pair of cold eyes gazing directly into his soul. A chill ran down to his bones. Fear and despair replaced Rufardo's usual confident demeanor.
He could feel the unknown pressure coming from the black robed cultist. Rufardo felt the suppression of power far greater than anyone he ever seen including the solar emperor himself.
"De...Demon Lord!"
He exclaimed. Before he could react, another pitch black spear formed in the black robed cultist's hand. The last thing Rufardo saw was the black spear coming right at him.
"Glory to the sun god..."
Rufardo mumbled his last words as his skull was directly pierced by the black spear and he finally lost his life.
"Apologies my lord. I underestimated the enemy. Please forgive me."
Derroth knelt down in front of the black robed cultist. His head bowing low. The black robed cultist was none other than Adrosiean in his human form.
Earlier, Adrosiean only chose to act because Rufardo was trying to send a signal to the Solarstras Empire.
The previous light cluster that Rufarfo shot out was like a firework. When it reaches enough height, it would explode like a firework and notify the Solarstras Empire that something was wrong here.
Adrosiean had no intention of letting any information leak. As a control type player, these kinds of blocking and intercepting were his specialty.
"No matter. Kill all the rest of the humans. I don't need them alive. Leave no prisoners and wipe them all out."
"As you command my lord."
Adrosiean ordered as he turned around. However his foot steps suddenly stopped as a forgotten feeling assaulted him.
It was the feeling that he had forgotten since he had became a demon lord. It was coming right from his stomach.
"This feeling. Am I... hungry?"
_ _ _ _ _
It's been a long time since Adrosiean had felt the feeling of hunger. He had almost forgotten of being hungry.
Since the day he was summoned to this world, Adrosiean had not consumed anything except for the souls that offered by Rexhell and his demon worshippers at the start.
It's not that Adrosiean had not tried eating anything at all. He tried to eat human food in Crenoth kingdom before.
However, his demonic body rejected almost everything and he could taste absolutely nothing.
Vegetables and fruits had absolutely nothing to do with the demons. Adrosiean could consume meat but the problem was the fresh meat was not easy to get.
There was no refrigerators in this world to preserve meat. The only way to keep the meat fresh was to use freezing magic or time magic. But mages were already rare enough.
It was a huge waste to use the mages as refrigerators to preserve meat. Thus, fresh meat was considered luxurious food in this medieval fantasy world.
Furthermore the meals in this world sucks to the point that Adrosiean did not want to even place them near his mouth ever again.
Thus, Adrosiean had given up on consuming any food since he thought he did not need anything to eat to survive. But it seemed that was not the case.
"Hmm? What am I missing? I am feeling hunger yet I cannot eat anything properly."
"Wait! I am a demon now. How could I forgot? That's might be why the human food is not suitable for me anymore."
In the game, the demon's main diet were souls and raw meat. Some also feed on the demonic energy of the other demons to grow stronger.
"I've already consumed souls. It was quite effective meal to sate my hunger for some times. For raw meat, personally I don't really want to eat human meat."
"Killing is one thing but eating one is too much for me. I will hunt and try eating the animal meat or the meat of the beasts later."
"Thankfully I am in the middle of the battlefield. The battle was just ended and the souls of the human soldiers are still lingering around here. Dimensional Confinement!"
Adrosiean immediately activated his skill before the souls went faraway. A barrier was formed around the battlefield like a cage and trapped the lingering human souls within.
Dimensional Confinement was a skill that confine the space. It restrict teleportations, portals and long distance movement skills.
Moreover it can trap non-physical objects like souls and phantoms. But it did not restrict physical movement and players can still walk out of the dimensional confinement physically.
Adrosiean opened his inventory and took out the blood dagger and a small orb. This orb was called the orb of souls.
The orb of of souls was a legendary grade item that can store souls. It also has the function to perform soul attacks using the stored souls as fuel.
High ranked players mainly used the orb of souls to just store the souls because it can store a lot of souls compared to other soul storage items. But not many players had that luxury.
After all the orb of souls was a legendary grade item. Only using it as a storage item for souls was a huge waste.
But Adrosiean was not one of them. He possessed hundreds of legendary grade items.
If he counted from his guild's storage, the legendary grade items alone would numbered to thousands. It was the results of the many years accumulation of the rank one guild.
Of cause Adrosiean no longer had access to his guild storage anymore. But the items alone in his inventory was more than enough for the current situation.
Adrosiean raised the blood dagger.
"Soul Siphon!"
The lingering souls were sucked towards Adrosiean with a pull. The miserable screams of souls echo through the forest as they tried to flew away and escape in a panic.
However no matter how hard they tried, they cannot break free from the strong pull. Furthermore, there was a barrier trapping them from going far.
There was no way these souls of low rank human soldiers break free from Adrosiean's dimensional confinement.
Adrosiean controlled his power not to accidentally suck the souls out of the demonic humans. Soul siphon was a skill that used for sucking the soul out of living body to begin with.
Using it to harvest the lingering souls of the dead was an overkill. But this was the fastest way of gathering souls.
More than ten thousands human souls were sucked into the orb of souls like a whirlpool. Adrosiean could see the cluster of souls moving inside the orb. He could even faintly hear the miserable screams of the trapped souls.
Adrosiean lifted the orb and opened his mouth. Several souls flew out of the orb and went into Adrosiean's mouth like a small stream of made of souls.
Painful screams and miserable cries of the human souls echo through the forest as they were eaten by Adrosiean. Even the nearby crimson cross members shivered and back away fearfully from the terrifying scene.
"Yes! This feeling. This... this is... Delicious!"
