Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 Investment

"Hmm. What is your name?"

Adrosiean asked. In the demonic society, the low tier demons and most of the mid tier demons did not have individual names.

Only a few strongest mid tier demons and the high ranking demons had their own names. Archdemons that were known as the nobles of the demonic society definitely had their own names.

"This servant is known as Azralion, great one."

"Good. Azralion, from now on you shall be the demon lord in my place. You will command an army of demons and fight against the human nations in my stand."

"As you command."

"I don't need you to conquer anything. Stay defensive and buy as much time as you can. You will receive further orders if you managed to survive long enough."

"I will do as you order, my demon god."

Azralion did not question a thing and obediently bowed. Adrosiean nodded in satisfaction. Azralion was going to be his diversion while he set out for the dragon spires.

With Azralion taking the attention of the continent, Adrosiean won't have to worry about human armies chasing him everywhere.

Adrosiean continued summoning more demons for Azralion to command. Azralion was directly summoned by Adrosiean using a skill. Thus, he did not have any army or troops. Adrosiean had to summon a sizable demonic army for Azralion from scratch.

Adrosiean summoned an archdemon to impersonate as a demon lord, four plague demons for spreading corruption and plague, hundreds of abyssal guards as elite troops, a Cerberus along with over ten thousand low tier demons including a lot of hellhounds as cannon fodders.

This was a whole demonic army.

"This is still not enough. I will need more pawns to buy me all the time I need."

Adrosiean raised his hand to continue with his summoning. However a feeling of weakness suddenly assaulted him.

"Ughhh! Cough cough... what is this exhausting feeling? Is it because I used up a lot of mana? This had never happened in the game before. Arghhhhh... my mind is a complete mess. The feeling is really unpleasant."

Adrosiean got on his knees because of strange dizziness. He felt like he had lost all of his strength that he could barely move his body.

After all Adrosiean had spent all of his mana by summoning a whole army of demons and his mana pool was depleted.

Even with the help of the summoning type mythical item, summoning a demonic army including an archdemon in one go was extremely costly.

However the feeling of exhaustion disappeared after a while as his mana was recovered quickly.

Adrosiean had the fastest mana regeneration rate among all the players in the game. He was known to be possessed infinite mana.

But of cause, even Adrosiean did not have infinite amount of mana. In reality his mana pool itself was not very different from other high ranked players.

The main reason of Adrosiean's almost infinite looking mana was because of his terrifying mana regeneration rate. With the help of the two mythical items, Adrosiean's mana regeneration rate was monstrous.

Adrosiean exceeded in battles of attrition and his play style was focused on outlasting his enemies. Most of his attacks were especially designed to make use of his advantage of fast mana regeneration rate.

Adrosiean's signature attack, 'Tide of Darkness' heavily relied on his fast mana regeneration rate.

"Still the feeling was really unpleasant. I might even be vomiting blood if not for my new strong body. I have to be careful. First I should stop summoning using my mana for now.

Although I have fast mana regeneration rate, I don't want to feel that again. Also I am very vulnerable in that state.

If someone attacked me when I was out of mana, I might really be in danger. I don't want to die just because of a stupid mistake. It will be really shameful."

Adrosiean was not a fighter who relied on his physical body. Apart from his equipment, most of Adrosiean's attacks and even defenses came from his skills. No matter how strong his skills were, without mana to activate them, they were completely useless.

"Even if my mana is replenished, I should stop using my mana for now. I can summon the troops in others ways."

Adrosiean drew a runic formation on the ground using his dagger.

"Hmm. If I remember correctly, it goes like this and this. Finally the four corners points and connect them with the middle point."

The runic formation Adrosiean drew was a complicated drawing with four corners that connected to the middle.

This was one of the summoning type runic formations that Adrosiean had memorized from the game.

As a top player, Adrosiean naturally had to memorized even the most complicated runic formations and blueprints of different kinds.

In the past, Adrosiean spent a lot of his time memorizing even the most useless blueprints and formations just to deal with various unforeseen situations.

As a top player, Adrosiean could not afford to make any mistakes. It was not just Adrosiean, every dedicated players had memorized the game functions to raise their ranks.

The strategies and trends of the players were always changing and improving each passing day. Adrosiean had to keep learning to secure his seat as the number one.

"Hoo... It's finished. It more or less looks like a proper runic formation. Thankfully my memories are still intact and I can still remember everything."

Adrosiean took out one legendary grade summoning crystal and four epic grade summoning crystals from his inventory.

Summoning crystals are consumable items. They have different grades and depending on the grade, the tier of the mobs it can summon also increased.

In the game, low grade summoning crystals could be seen everywhere. But legendary grade summoning crystals were very precious and cannot be purchased from anywhere. They were trump cards of many players.

Adrosiean tossed the four epic grade summoning crystals to each corner points and placed the legendary grade summoning crystal to the middle point. Adrosiean poured some mana into the runic formation and activated it.

The five crystals slowly dissolved into the formation. Red lightnings violently sparked as the void cracked and a space rift was opened. The rift became larger as a portal was formed. This was the portal connected to the demon world.

However this was extremely tiny compared to the usual demon gates opened from the demon summoning structures.

This runic formation could be considered a mini version of the standard demon gates. This cannot summon high tier demons and could only attract low tier demons and some mid tier demons.

But the players do not have to subdue the demons come out of this mini gate. This small gate only attract demons that are way weaker than the formation power.

Furthermore the formation automatically subdue the demons that come out. Thus, Adrosiean did not have to worry about the summoned demons fighting against each other.

The formation shook as a demonic hand came out of the gate. The first low rank demon slowly walked out. It was a red colored winged demon holding a three pointed demonic spear.

It was a red fiend, a common soldier rank demon. It flew towards the summoned demonic army and joined their ranks. After the red fiend, other demons like hellhounds and gargoyles also slowly came out.

The process was slow but the demons were coming out of the gate once in a while. The demons will keep coming out slowly until the formation was destroyed.

Adrosiean took out a small bluish crystal. This was a legendary grade item called Permanent Crystal. Permanent Crystal is a one time consumable item that will disappear after usage. It's use was to make the temporary summons permanent.

Adrosiean activated the crown of Aryumaya. Strings of the mythical item's aura entered the permanent crystal and enhanced it further.

The permanent crystal had a limit based on the quality and quantity of the summons. However with the amplification of the crown of Aryumaya, it's limitation had increased greatly.

Adrosiean put a small force in his hand and crushed the permanent crystal. The crystal dust spreaded towards the demonic army.

With a flash of faint light, the death timer on the demons disappeared and all of them became permanent summons.

Finally, Adrosiean took out eight legendary grade equipments and some legendary grade items from his inventory and handed them to Azralion.

"With these items, you will be able to hold out for a long time. Do not disappoint me."

"Thank you for your gift demon god. I will not disappoint you."

Azralion bowed respectfully. Azralion was an archdemon. He was visibly weaker than the actual demon lords.

However after being equipped with full legendary grade equipments, Azralion would be able to mimic the power of a real demon lord to some extend.

"All the preparations are complete. Hopefully, this amount is enough."

Azralion and his new army, combined with the beasts in the forest that soon to be corrupted by Adrosiean's blood, they would be able to at least repel several waves of attacks and cause quite a lot of problems to the nations.

Adrosiean had spent more than ten legendary grade equipments and items as well as several others items for this plan. This was a huge investment. Even Adrosiean felt some lingering ache.

Normally dozens of legendary grades were nothing to him. Within his guild, there were thousands of legendary grade items.

There were times that Adrosiean had spent dozens of legendary grade consumable items in a single fight without batting an eye.

However Adrosiean no longer had any access to his guild and every items he used would be gone forever without being able to replenish.

There was no one who would gather materials and items for him like before. In the past, even when Adrosiean did not need anything, his devoted fans and guild members would bring things after things for him. Adrosiean somewhat missed his past life.
