Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Location for Headquarters

Adrosiean made his final decision. He first summarized the cult leader's explanation about this world. This information is extremely valuable since he got suddenly summoned here without any prior notice.

According to the cult leader, this world is divided into two parts with several mountain ranges separating the two like a series of walls.

On the other side of the world was said to be the territory of the demi-humans and beastmen. However it was only a rumor and the cult leader did not certain that the information was real or not.

This demonic cult was currently in a small forest between the two kingdoms called Aliridom kingdom and Crenoth kingdom.

The military strength of the two kingdoms were considered average by the standards of this world. However Adrosiean had no idea how powerful an average military strength of a kingdom in this world.

There were also monsters and other races aside from the demi-humans and beastmen. Races like elves, dwarves, goblins, orcs, trolls, ogres and many other races inhabiting in this world. Some even had their own nations.

As for now, Adrosiean knew all of the races mentioned by the cult leader. He had already seen all these races in the 'Rise of the Worlds.'

Of cause Adrosiean was unsure that these were all the races in this world. There was a possibility of other races or creatures hiding from the sights of the world.

Additionally, the cult leader might not know of all the information about this world. After all, he was just a leader of a small demonic cult.

Adrosiean decided to put these things for later. He re-entered the hideout and went straight to the previous room where the map was. The demonic cult leader closely followed him from behind.

"First thing first, I need a base."

Adrosiean thought. To start off, he needs his own base of operation. It was the most basic requirement before doing anything. In the game, Adrosiean had his guild headquarters. Now however, he had to build a new one.

There were many types of bases such as guild headquarters, defensive bases, monster farming bases and unit production bases.

Base construction is quite costly and troublesome. The players have to think of the geography, terrains, mobs and monsters that spawn at the location.

Constructing a base is a huge investment. You cannot just choose a random location and make it your base.

Thus, most casual players did not even bother to build bases. Only guilds have the necessary manpower and resources to build them.

In the game, the bases could determine the difference in strength between the guilds. The importance of the bases could be seen clearly especially in the guild wars.

There were cases of weaker guilds with well built defensive bases successfully fought off the guilds that were much stronger than them.

Adrosiean looked back at the map on the table. He found that the forest they were currently in was certainly not a good spot for a base. The forest itself is quite small and surrounded by two human kingdoms.

Additionally, the cult leader mentioned that many merchants and travelers occasionally pass through this forest. It was not surprising since this was the border of two kingdoms.

Adrosiean might get discover by the passing people immediately if he construct a base here. If the nations knew of his existence, they would certainly send their armies to him and launch their attacks.

After all, Adrosiean is a demon lord. Even if he wanted to coexist with the humans, there is no way they would accept his existence.

The reason that this demonic cult did not get discover yet was because they were only a small cult.

Even if the two kingdoms found out about their existence, they would not bother about them too much. Adrosiean even thought that the two kingdoms knew but chose to ignore it.

Since this forest was between the borders of the two kingdoms, it was a sensitive spot to send out the armies.

If one of them sent an army, the other kingdom would be greatly alarmed. Sending the soldiers just to eliminate a few cultists was not worth the risk.

However if Adrosiean were to construct his headquarters here, the two kingdoms would not sit still anymore. This action would pass their bottom line and the kingdoms would surely send out their armies.

"This is truly a terrible location."

Adrosiean groaned. He looked at the map deeply. The map is not very detailed and only contains general locations and names of the kingdoms, empires, mountains and forests. But this was still very valuable in Adrosiean's eyes.

Adrosiean looked towards the far north of the map. The place that separating the continent into two. There lies a long mountain range labeled as Dragonspire.

According to the cult leader, there was once a dwarven kingdom existed deep inside the mountain range. However it was said that the whole kingdom got destroyed by a dragon long ago. The reason was still unknown.

Some said the dwarves provoked the dragon while the others said the dragon wanted the gold and precious metals of the dwarves. However those were just baseless rumors and nothing was confirmed yet.

The rumors also claimed that the dragon was still residing in the mountain range to this day and made the destroyed kingdom his lair. Wyverns were also sighted along the mountain range since the dragon had taken over.

Once in a while, some courageous adventures and hunters went to the Dragonspire to hunt the dragon with the purpose of becoming a hero. However none of them managed to come back alive.

Since the dragon did not do anything after destroying the dwarven kingdom, the other nations chose to ignore it.

Nobody wants to poke at the hornet nest without any reason. To weak kingdoms, a dragon is an existence that they could not afford to provoke.

The mountain range was named Dragonspire because of the existence of said dragon.

Although no one haf ever seen the dragon ever again after the incident, Adrosiean was certain that it was still living in the mountain range.

It was mainly because of the appearance of the wyverns. A large number of wyverns were still sighted along the Dragonspire to this day.

In the game, wyverns were known to be underlings of the dragons and the fact that a lot of them were still there meant that the dragon did not leave the mountain range yet.

Of cause, there was a possibility that the principle of this world would be different from the game.

Whatever the dragon still there or not, Adrosiean decided to make the Dragonspire mountain range his main base. It was because the geographical position of the dragonspire is easy to defend and hard to attack.

The terrain itself could act as the natural stronghold. It is an ideal location for his headquarters.

"From all aspects and possibilities, this is the best location to construct a base."

Adrosiean made his decision. After deciding the location for his base, he moved on and made a rough plan.

"First I need an army."

Adrosiean murmured. His current location and the Dragonspire were too far away. He had to pass through around three nations including Crenoth kingdom to reach to Dragonspire.

Adrosiean planned to raise an army along the way. In addition, Adroseian had never been to anywhere in this world. Therefore he cannot use his teleportation skills nor open portals yet. He had no choice but to travel normally.

Adrosiean did not know how strong the dragon is. All he knew was it singlehandedly destroyed the dwarven kingdom.

Adrosiean also had no idea how strong the dwarven kingdom is. Therefore, there was no way he could guess the dragon's strength.

If the dragon turned out to be extremely powerful, his losses will be quite high. Thus, he does not want to fight it without any army or prior preparations.

"Are you planning to summon your demon army from the demon world?"

Hearing Adroseian's murmur, the demonic cult leader asked curiously from behind. According to his knowledge all the demon lords have formidable demonic armies of their own in the demon world.

"No. I won't summon the demons for now."

Adrosiean gave a short reply without explaining. The cult leader nodded with understanding and did not ask anymore.

Although he did not know the requirements, he could more or less guess that summoning a large army of demons from the demon world was not easy even for demon lords.

The demonic cult leader had heard of stories of the rituals performed by powerful demon worshippers or demons themselves to open the gates between this world and the demon world.

The demon world would have already conquered all the worlds if they could invade them with their armies without any restraints as they pleased.

Even for a max level demon lord like Adrosiean, summoning an army of powerful demons out of nowhere is too much. He could only summon a small amount of them using his summoning skills.

Moreover, Adrosiean was a player. Although his character was a demon lord, he did not have any army in the demon world.

In Rise of the Worlds, the players could enter the demon world in some of the events. However, it was only temporary in the times of events.

Besides, the players cannot construct their bases in the demon world because of the game system's restrictions.
