Ada couldn't believe it as she sat in the back of a black Van with her hands and legs chained together like a slave.
She was now a slave.
Heavy tears drained down her red cheeks as she thought back to everything that had just happened a few minutes ago.
*Flashback*
The moment Aiden, her brother, was named Alpha of the Red Blood Pack; loud cheers and congratulatory chatters filled the air. But the next second was the beginning of her doom.
"Thank you all for your support and kindness," Aiden spoke up, the hall quietened down at his voice.
Ada who stood beside her brother, turned to him with much love and admiration in her eyes for him, happy that she was finally able to fulfill her promise to her parents, but, her happiness didn't last long.
"I'm glad to announce that our Pack will never be attacked by rogues or vampires ever again, I have secured an agreement with the strongest Alpha; Alpha Daxton." Claps and whistles filled the air, but, a huge change was noticed in the face of the Pack members, but they dared not show it.
They knew their Pack was in more danger than it would have been in the hands of rogues and vampires.
Ada immediately sensed a premonition from his brother's message. Something didn't feel right. Nothing ever felt right with Alpha Daxton.
"But, nothing good comes easy," Aiden paused and looked at his sister briefly.
There was something in his eyes that she'd never seen before.
Ada confirmed her intuition, it was never wrong. Something really bad was about to happen.
"We, the Red Blood Pack, have agreed to sell one of our own to Alpha Daxton to be his slave as a sacrificial exchange for our noble Pack! And it is no one else than Ada Desmond of the Red Blood Pack!" Aiden proclaimed proudly.
Silence reigned for a second before everyone cheered robotically. At least, they were glad it wasn't one of them, but they could not just believe that their Alpha could do something so heartless, to his blood.
They cheered on, afraid to offend their Alpha, and more importantly, no one ever wanted to be on Alpha Daxton's bad side.
Ada was still in shock, she stood there, unmoving. Reality came crashing down hard when she saw the cold smirk on the face of Alpha Daxton who sat in the front row, she knew this was his way to get his revenge on her for rejecting his offer to rule the Red Blood Pack and to prove to her that women were nothing but a commodity.
she saw his guards stand from behind him with chains and shackles In their hands as they moved targetedly toward her.
"No, Aiden, No!" She said frantically.
"You can't do this, Aiden. If this is a fucking prank, it's not funny, just stop!" She turned to her brother but he didn't look at her, he just had his stoic face facing the crowd, with an unreadable aura around him.
"I have my rights, Aiden, and I refuse! You can't do this to me, why Aiden? Why?" She asked, hot tears forming in her eyes.
"Aiden, answer me, after all we've been through?! Please Aiden! He's a monster!" She held his arm, shaking him to get him to look at her.
"Your glory days are over, sister." He finally looked at her, but his eyes were filled with malice.
Ada couldn't recognize her brother at that instant, he looked different from who she used to know and cared for.
"Anyone who questions the Alpha's decision can come up here and join her, or better still, take her place?!" Aiden shouted to the crowd.
"No!"
"Never!"
"Sell her!"
"She's good for nothing anyway!"
"Sell the slut!"
"She deserves it!"
"She's always entitled!
"We're tired of her!"
"A woman is not fit to rule us!"
Ada heard the heartbreaking replies from the people who were supposed to protect her, her people. Her whole world chattered in the blink of an eye. She felt humiliated, hated, used, and dumped.
"Don't touch me!" Ada withdrew her hands from Alpha Daxton's guards who had come up to her with chains. They wanted to chain her and take her with them but she put up a fight.
"You're now a slave to the Alpha king. Your actions will be punished. Do not resist." One of the guards said.
"Take her!" Aiden told them.
"No!" Ada screamed and ran away, towards the exit. She made it halfway through but someone from the crowd tripped her, making her fall face-first to the carpeted floor.
"Ouch!" Ada exclaimed painfully.
"Where are you running to, bitch? Oops...or is it, slave?" She looked up to see her best friend, Evelyn, staring at her with such hatred in her eyes.
Ada's heart sank, she knew her best friend had a crush on her brother ever since childhood, but was it enough to turn against her best friend? After everything they've been through together? Now, it was obvious Evelyn had taken sides with her brother.
Guess this is her harsh reality.
"Get up bitch." One of the guards caught up to her and roughly clasped the shackles on her legs and hands.
Ada was harshly dragged outside on the dirty floor amidst her struggles and screams, her neatly packed hair had been let loose, flying freely and collecting dirt as she went.
Her magnificent white dress was now torn here and there, with dirt and blood stains seen all over it from the manhandling. They reached the van and brutally threw her into it like a sack of potatoes.
Ada felt her bones crack, she had never been subjected to this kind of treatment before, her whole body ached badly and she knew this was still the beginning of her suffering.
She managed to lift her twisted body from the lying position it was and rested her back on the body of the van, it was very uncomfortable as they had her hands and legs together in a very short chain, and she felt strained. Her back was painfully hunched and aching, she felt devastated.
*End of flashback*
Hot tears fell from her eyes as she thought back to everything she had sacrificed for her Pack and her brother, but look how they paid her back. A slave, to a monster. Her life was doomed.
Her hatred for Alpha Daxton kept increasing with every tick of the clock, it was immeasurable.
"Thank you, Alpha. I'm looking forward to your invitation. I promise to be the best alliance you'll ever have " Ada heard Aiden's ass-licking voice from a distance.
She felt so disgusted by the sound of his voice, that she felt a detest for him rise within her.
"Alpha Daxton; don't worry, the bitch doesn't have a will, and she would do anything you say in a matter of seconds. She's dead to us, so, show her no mercy. Right, Aiden?" Evelyn said in her annoying voice.
"Yes, dear," Aiden replied.
Ada clenched her fists in anger. 'Dead to you right?' They were dead to her too. 'Scumbags.'
"You will receive a message from my beta, Aiden. Do not delay your reply," Ada heard Alpha Daxton's cold voice and immediately felt like throwing up.
He was the worst, she didn't know how she was going to survive with him, he ticked all the wrong boxes on her list. She hoped she wouldn't end up murdering him at the slightest opportunity she got.
She felt the van rev, it started to move slowly, slowly away from the place she once called home, away from all her Lifetime memories, both the good and the bad. Her tears were unstoppable, she thought back to how sweet her brother used to be, how they grew up as a happy family with their dead parents, and how everyone loved and appreciated each other.
But she was wrong all along, now, she knew all those were lies. How could Aiden do such a thing? She wasn't really surprised at Evelyn, she had always known she was a green snake in a green grass who had only been nice to her because of her brother, and now that she had gotten what she wanted, she discarded her immediately.
Ada lost track of time, the Dark Moon Pack was quite far away from the Red Blood Pack. She didn't know how far they'd gone, she just sat there, if it could even be called sitting. She thought about everything and how she ended up in this situation.
She knew that Alpha Daxton wasn't in this van, he was known to travel in his private chopper, and the van was for the slaves like her. She wished he would crash and die.
Bam!!!
Ada was forcefully thrown to the other side of the van from the heavy collision on the Van. Before she could understand what had just happened, the van was hit with a heavier collision.
"Fuck, Vampires," She heard one of the guards say.
"You can't outrun these bastards," The other guard replied.
The van was at full speed now, dodging, galloping, and swerving recklessly.
Ada's heart was beating faster than the moving van, she hated vampires, she feared them. They took away her parents, the only people who ever truly loved her, and now, they were back to cause more chaos.
"Hit the brakes, Denis, there's a cliff!" She heard one of them shout.
"Shit!" She heard Denis curse and felt the van forcefully swerve to the right.
She braced herself, gritting her teeth together from the excruciating impact she felt from the speeding van. She prayed they found a way to outrun them, she didn't want to die like her parents, she didn't want to submit to them, she swore to enact her revenge on them, so, dying now was not an option.
"Argh!!!" Ada screamed painfully.
