Sebastian and Lei had been friends since they were twelve. It doesn't seem like that much of an extent to be very close, but, considering that they were a princess and prince with their orphan-caused kingdom-y duties, their friendship blossoming in the first place was very remarkable.
Sebastian and Lei most definitely weren't in love, but they'd rather get married to each other than some random suitor out there. Even though both of them were already certain of the outcome, both of them worked to look their best and Lei held the optional debutante ball. Still, their arrangement was more political than it was genuine.
Young men hovered nearby, dirty looks on their faces as they surveyed the prince and princess together. They opened their mouths to protest when Sebastian held out an arm, taking 's hand and leading her to the dance floor. The only man who wasn't acting grim was Jylan, who cupped his hands together and wooed the couple excitedly from a distance.
"Miss Orlandi truly put her best into teaching me how to dance," Lei commented as they began twirling around.
"I can tell," Sebastian replied, still keeping his face in check. "You don't trip on my toes anymore! That's progress."
pouted her lip. Usually, she was the kind to stick her tongue out and blow raspberries, but it wouldn't look very romantic to the guests if she did so. She spent a good day practicing her etiquette for the ball, working to keep a straight face in front of the best jester in the kingdoms. Meanwhile, Sebastian, who had decided to accompany her a few to times to see what the jesters were all about, was struggling to even put a smile on his face.
"Is that all I've improved?" Lei hissed, but the sparkle in her eye told Sebastian that she wasn't really angry.
Sebastian shrugged. "Yeah, I guess…"
"Hey!"
