Chapter 9 - .

"Ready?" the butler said, grinning. He tucked a needle back into his bag and gazed at Sebastian head-to-toe.

"I'm… you sure the outfit is all right?" Sebastian asked, twiddling with his fingers. He didn't want to admit how anxious he was feeling.

"Trust me; you look like the most handsome husband-to-be," Jylan reassured. "Princess Lei will be heads-over-moons-over-suns-over-heels in love with you before she even gets to set her eyes on you. It'll just be that feeling, and then the princess will look at you and know that you are the perfect one."

Sebastian's mouth fell open in embarrassment and shock. Never had someone said something so peculiarly kind before! He quickly remembered his manners and breathed. It was the first time in a while that someone had cracked his shell, but that moment passed as fast as it came. "Okay, then."

The prince turned around to look in the mirror, and there he saw a breathtaking outfit.

He was wearing a white button-up shirt with puffed sleeves and ruffles at the ends that were wrapped with blue ribbon. Around his collar hung a ruffled tie of the same color, on top a plaid waistcoat with drifts of purple and pink. His hair was brushed to the sides, loose drifts hanging over his face and his back tied up into a long tail.

Jylan had also dabbed some makeup on Sebastian, leaving a rosy tuft and dreamy eyes.

"But why the loose strands?" Sebastian asked, trying to brush them to the side. He blinked once, then twice, to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

"It's a unique style," Jylan replied, his eyes smiling in half-moons. "She'll be gasping for air if you decide to pull it back."

Sebastian sputtered, "This is merely a child's play! This outfit – my face –" He was fuming. "- no one else will be looking so much like a fool!"

The smile vanished off Jylan's face momentarily. The butler stepped in line toward the flustered prince. Closer, and closer, and closer. Then, when he was only two inches across, Sebastian raised his hand to shove the crazy person away, and Jylan pressed a finger to the prince's nose. "That's the point, my prince."
