Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Leave No Trace Behind

"BOOM!"

"KABOOM!"

"BOOM!"

With a series of explosive sounds that echoed through the night, Lin methodically detonated the corpses, leaving no trace behind. After ensuring that not a single piece of evidence remained, he entered the dungeon. The group that had been protesting earlier now dared to approach, their bodies tingling from the terrifying energy released by the explosions.

"Wow, they're all gone," one of them whispered in awe.

"More like vanished without a trace," another added, marveling at Lin's ruthlessness. The consensus was clear: by taking such drastic action, Lin had made a formidable enemy in the Dynasty Guild, a faction not known for letting grievances go.

Wang Yi stepped forward, addressing the bystanders. "The Dynasty Guild won't let this slide. If they catch any of us, it won't matter whether we speak or stay silent; we're dead either way. I suggest we all leave now. Get out of Xihai City, away from Jiangning Province, far from the Dynasty Guild's reach. There are plenty of other places to level up, and it's unlikely they'll be able to track us all down."

His proposal was quickly accepted, and the group dispersed, choosing safety over confrontation. Wang Yi bid farewell, "I'm off first; may we meet again if fate allows."

"Until next time," they echoed, and soon the area was deserted, the eerie quiet of the night reclaiming the space around the dungeon's entrance.

Half an hour later, a few individuals emerged from the dungeon, with Wang Zihao among them, wearing a look of disappointment. This venture had again failed to yield the Goblin King's crystal, a rare drop only available every 100 days. Despite the setback, he remained hopeful; there were still a few days left until the big exam, giving him a few more opportunities to enter the dungeon.

Surprised by the emptiness around the dungeon entrance, the confusion among Wang Zihao and his companions grew. "Where did everyone go?" they wondered, sensing that something was amiss.

To find out, Wang Zihao decided to launch a signal flare, a bright beacon that would surely catch the attention of his guild members if they were nearby. But when no response came, it became clear that something had happened during his time in the dungeon.

Inside the dungeon, Lin, now at level 13, was unstoppable. With 64 skeleton warriors at his command, he effortlessly reached the end, where the Goblin King awaited. Employing the same tactics as before, including timely interruptions with 'Soul Fire,' the king fell within seconds. Although the sought-after Goblin King's crystal did not drop this time, Lin considered the possibility of crafting the Goblin King's Ring once he reached Xiahai Academy. Such a powerful accessory would be invaluable, regardless of level or profession.

Upon exiting the dungeon, Lin found the surroundings eerily silent, devoid of the earlier commotion. Understanding what must have transpired, he silently acknowledged the choice made by the others to flee. Without lingering, he disappeared into the night, leaving the quiet and the moonlight behind.
