Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Elite Boss: Wolf King

After navigating through the maze-like mine tunnels, Lin entered the latter half of the dungeon. What lay before him was a gigantic corridor stretching over a kilometer. On both sides of the corridor were rooms resembling prison cells, each secured with a massive iron door. It resembled a series of jails, and beastly roars echoed through the vast corridor, adding a mix of bloodlust and a pungent stench to the air.

A colossal creature blocked the path ahead. It bore the appearance of a wolf or a large dog, and even while lying down, its height exceeded one meter. Standing up, it would tower over three meters with a body length surpassing five meters.

A Detect spell gently landed on the creature, revealing its identity: [Mine Wolf King (Elite Boss)][Level: 15]

Strength: 2000

Agility: 2000

Spirit: 1000

Constitution: 2500

Skills: Howl

This was Lin's first encounter with a boss-level creature, an elite boss no less. Although its attributes were still inferior to the skeleton warriors', they were significantly stronger than those of lesser monsters.

"Facing a boss with such attributes suggests the final dungeon boss will be even more formidable," Lin mused. "But it shouldn't surpass my skeleton warriors, or else no one would be able to conquer this dungeon."

Nightmare-level dungeons were expected to be challenging. Typically, a party capable of tackling such difficulty would have members whose levels vastly exceed the dungeon's intended range, equipped with decent gear and skills. Otherwise, conquering a nightmare dungeon would be impossible.

Someone like Lin, venturing into a nightmare dungeon solo at level 10, was unheard of in history.

Awakened by the detection spell, the Mine Wolf King roused from its slumber. Slowly standing, its massive form dwarfed Lin and his skeleton warriors. Its blood-red eyes locked onto Lin, emitting a murderous aura that filled the air with oppression.

"Attack!" Lin commanded.

Fifty-six skeletons charged towards the Mine Wolf King like lightning. The wolf king let out a powerful howl, unleashing its skill with a forceful blast from its mouth. The leading skeletons were sent flying by the shockwave, causing a tremor along the mine walls and dislodging countless stones.

Even from dozens of meters away, Lin felt the force of the blast, his face showing a hint of surprise. "This skill not only affects a group but also has a knockback effect. It's the first time I've seen the skeletons being blown away."

The skeletons quickly regrouped and charged again, unfazed by the wolf king's intimidation. The battle ensued with Lin's undead army overwhelming the elite boss with relentless attacks. Despite the wolf king's desperate attempts to fend them off, its efforts were futile against the superior numbers and strength of the skeletons.

As the Mine Wolf King attempted to flee, Lin couldn't help but note, "Running away?"
