Chapter 27 - Run for Life

Nari was now inside the Dungeon, her consciousness had faded out not for long. coming out of her unconsciousness, she opened her eyes a little, things weren't clear to see for her.

"Where am I?"

at first, she failed to remember. gradually, her memories returned of the time how she entered the dungeon. her eyes weren't fully opened. the clear image of the front background wasn't the best in her vision.

with the strength of her body, she sat on the ground with her legs straight and hands supporting her upper body upwards. her every breath was heavier. the air of the atmosphere was denser than the Earth's.

"So… the gate from inside looks like this."

Nari's expression was unfaltering, her eyes were shifting to all the areas she could see and examine them. The dungeon had a very calm silence no movement or trace of monster at the site.

it was a relief to her, if there was a monster she would have died long ago at the time of being unconscious. the dungeon was filled with giant rocks, placed on one another. The first thing that came to Nari's mind was Pillar's.

however, the way they were adjusted on top of each other suggested that someone big and strong must have done it. feared for her life, Nari didn't want to take a step or look for help.

looking back and forth, there was no Gate leading her back. She was stuck in a place where if accidently she encountered a monster her death was granted.

"What should I do, there is no one to help. what if a monster appeared… aaahh, I don't want to think about it"

Nari slapped her own cheeks. "What are you doing Nari, you can't sit here and do nothing. this whole place might be covered with monsters. I need to do something if I have to survive."

the gate has appeared, I'm sure hunters will come to clear it. on top of that those people saw me being dragged inside the gate. they can't ignore it like that.

I guess… I mean they did see me struggling to save my life but… sigh… can't blame them even if it were me maybe I would have done the same thing as them.

building up courage inside her heart, she was determined to explore the dungeon and find a way out.

I read somewhere that there's always an exit point, the place where hunter enters is also the place where they exit.

but why…

perplexed and unable to figure out the situation. She entered the dungeon and must have stayed unconscious next to the gate but that wasn't the case for her. The time she woke up, she was already in a different place.

what came to her mind as a first theory, maybe someone carried or dragged her away from the exit point and let her be here where she is currently at. but quickly she dismissed her theory as to how unrealistic it was sounding.

whatever she thought to herself, made her realize how many attempts she made to find a correct answer were all failed tries.

with the support of her hands and legs, she got up from the ground, and checked her clothes if there was any major damage done to them. after her checks were cleared.

she was struck by a headache for a short amount of time before it vanished away. "Eik, why did it hurt so much all of a sudden" Once the headache was gone, the second thing she did was take steps toward one of the rocky pillars.

the whole area was rocky, she had to be extra careful because of the heels she was wearing. upon a closer look, she couldn't gain any new information that could help her in any way.

"It looks like a simple rock to me, what was the point of it?"

placing her hand on the second rock topped on the first rock. the feeling she had was similar to a regular rock found everywhere on earth.

turning her head around, her eyes were locked on a created path.

"there's a path…"

not knowing where it would lead her, she was filled with curiosity. nothing she could do to stop herself from checking it. walking towards where the path was going. She removed her heels first, so her feet wouldn't make any loud sound attracting monsters if nearby.

Five minutes passed by, but the path didn't want to finish. Nari was quick to get tired because the pain in legs were still there.

"Huff… Huff…" – "I'm soooo tired."

placing her back on a giant rock and sliding down to the ground. "Whew…"

this path is long… I don't even know if it will end soon. if it weren't for that long-standing waiting for that idiot guy, I would have been able to complete this path. or maybe I wouldn't be stuck in such a messy situation.

while relaxing, Nari was unable to detect any close presence, her mind was too tired for this. a hand emerged from behind placing itself onto the rock, it was a large hand with sharp claws. the hand in touch to the rock was soft enough to make no sound.

the hand on one side was soft, the other was completely covered with scales. thump… the sound of a bigfoot step alerted Nari. her ears were all open along her eyebrows lifted up.

to see what created the sound, she looked up at it. the turn of her head was slow as the fear filled her heart. her eyes widen open upon closer inspection.

"A—a-a, Mo—mo—monster!!"

the monster is similar to a dinosaur in all aspects with blue scaly skin. it was enormous and terrifying to glare at. the monster saw a delicious prey in front of his eye, unable to hold himself back. give a big roar.

"GGGRRRAAAAHHHH!!!"

hearing the ear drums breaking roar, Nari screamed. "KYYEEEEEEAAAA".

unlike before this time, she had a chance to run off, there was no pressure set on her body that could stop her from dashing away. to save her life, she stood during the process of getting up she dashed off mid-way trying to flee far away from the monster.

it was no surprise to say, that the monster caught up to frightened Nari with to no efforts. it had become a cat-and-mouse play.

With each step, the monster was getting closer and closer.

D*mmit, someone please… Help me!!

desperate to save her life, praying in her heart to be saved.
