Chereads / The Alphabet System / Chapter 5 - 005

Chapter 5 - 005

As Harvy stomped out of the building, a group of men dressed in black suits almost ran into him in an attempt to rush into the building. The loud cry and yelling of Laura must have caught their attention. They were guards that worked for the family.

"Madam. What happened? We heard your voice?" One of the men asked, running into the living room.

The man's attention shifted from the woman to Donald, who was now slowly getting back on his feet. Donald's lips were swollen as though he plunged his face into a beehive.

"What took you so long!!!" Laura yelled at the men. "Get out of my sight now." She shrieked.

"Don't let him escape. He must not escape. If he does, you will all die on spikes!!!" The pitch of her voice tends to increase by every syllable.

The men turned around and hurried to the door. At first, they didn't know whom Laura was referring to, but then one of them recalled that they had almost run into someone. A familiar, yet unwanted person.

"Harvy!!!" One of the men exclaimed.

"Stop him! He must not leave!" The man called, referring to the gateman.

Harvy was at the main gate of the building, about to walk out. The gate man was very confused by the instructions of the guards. He couldn't react quickly and accordingly, let alone stop Harvy.

"Hey! Stop there!!!" Before the gateman could utter those words, Harvy had already walked out of the premises.

Harvy didn't stop. He didn't pay any attention to the men. He kept on walking. He had a lot on his mind. There were a lot of words that were running to and fro in his head. Words that he had said in the heat of the moment.

He couldn't dwell on that thought for too long.

"That's him! He must not escape!" He heard a loud voice behind him.

He kept on walking and took a turn into an alleyway. He walked for another few seconds before deciding to stop.

He made sure that there was no one in sight. His intentions were vague. But it was quite obvious on his solemn face that he was up to something.

"Where did he go???!" The loud voices of the henchmen traveled to the alleyway before their loud steps.

"That's him!" Someone called.

The loud call of the person garnered the attention of the rest. The mob started to walk towards him.

Harvy retained his position, gazing at them as they closed the pace. There was no trace of fear in his face, let alone an iota of worry. His state of mind at that point in time exactly matched his face. It would seem as though one was the reflection of the other, just like holding a mirror to something.

"How dare you return to the mansion? Are you tired of living?" One of the men rolled up his sleeves as he stopped a few steps away from Harvy.

The rest of the men joined in the action, rolling up their sleeves.

"What's that look on his face? Did he really wait for us here?" Another person mocked.

"He must be high on some hard liquor. Else, he would know that this is a death wish." Someone scorned.

"Oh, you want to be the tough guy now, right? Do you want to take us all on?"

Harvy didn't find a reason to reply to any of them. All he did at that moment was look from the person talking to another person who picked up the discourse.

Right now, none of the men was saying anything.

"Are we going to do this, or are you all just going to stand there bitching around with words?" Harvy asked, glaring at them.

When the men heard this, their jaws dropped to the floor. They couldn't believe their ears. Was this not Harvy? The rejected son-in-law whom nobody respected? What was this guts? From where did he borrow it?

"Did the divorce get into your head?" Someone laughed.

"Did it make you crazy that now you don't think before you talk?"

"Have you lied to yourself that divorcing our lovely miss Charlotte means that we can no longer deal with you?!"

Harvy was getting impatient. He just wanted to teach these bunch of dummies a lesson! He didn't care about any other thing right now. Although he had no idea how he was going to beat up these five men, he was banking on the system power. The Alphabet system.

He recalled that back in the mansion, his body had made some weird and swift movements that put Donald in his place for good! Harvy was hoping that such magic would happen again this time.

He was determined. Even if the magic would not happen again, then he would rather die a hero than run away! He was done running!!!

"I guess I'll bring it to you then!" Harvy changed his mind.

Instead of waiting for them to come to him, he started walking towards them.

"This bastard is really asking for it." A man drew a fist and aimed it at Harvy's face.

Harvy moved out of the way, evading the contact. But he didn't know that the man had launched a subsequent attack. Although the man had missed the first throw, the second landed in Harvy's stomach. A loud and effective punch!

Harvy folded and staggered to the back. He almost fell to the ground.

"This guy is killing me." Someone scoffed, stretching their legs.

"What did you think would happen?" The man who had punched him stopped right in front of him.

Harvy's body was bent towards the floor. Although he was still on his feet, his position was as though he was bowing as he clutched his stomach. An aftermath of the heavy punch.

The man grabbed his hair and pulled ruthlessly at the strands, employing the pain as the tool of lifting Harvy's head.

"Look at my face. This is the last time you will be able to see!" The man added then sent another first into Harvy's face.

Whoosh! Strick! Thud! The next thing the man knew. He was lying on the cold floor, eating the mud. There was an excruciating pain all over his body.

The man had no clue how this happened, nor did Harvy.

Before Harvy could lift his gaze at the rest of the men, he heard retreating footsteps. The other four men ran away. They were the only one who saw what Harvy really did.

Harvy wanted to go after them. He couldn't afford to let them tell Laura about his new abilities. He didn't even know much about the abilities.

He made to run after them. Suddenly, he heard the clicking of high and pointy heels behind him.

He was tempted to ignore the distraction, but he just couldn't. He turned around to see who it was, letting the four men run away.

When he turned, his eyes widened at who was standing in front of him.

There was a gorgeous tall lady whose aura screamed luxury and class in front of him.

"I finally found you." The lady said with a bright smile.
