Chapter 8 - 008

[Ping! Urgent situation triggered the system.]

[Ping! Healing pact unlocked.]

[Ping! Numbers of acquired items: Nil]

[Ping! Extras: Medical scriptures.]

All of these details appeared right in front of Harvy. He was trying to familiarize himself with what all this was all about. But he couldn't think straight. Claire was loud and screaming next to him. She was screaming and yelling at him to take Ninna to the hospital or do something about it.

In the middle of this, Harvy was struggling to concentrate on the new information brought up by the system.

"Would you shut up at least for a second!!!" He snapped at her out of rage.

Claire was stunned speechless by the tone of his voice and the urgency of the command! His eyes were tomatched with the words! Claire had never seen that side of him. How could she? She hadn't even known him for half a day.

The little kids were in the corners of the large hall, crying their eyes out. They were scared for Ninna.

Harvy wanted to assure the innocent souls that he would do something about this but couldn't bring himself to it. Whatever promise he would be making to the kids must be very reliable and proven first.

He had never been able to make himself useful to the kids ever before. This was the first chance he would get. He wouldn't want to ruin it.

Even though he hadn't been able to do anything for the kids, they still loved him regardless. He had no idea what he had done to deserve them.

Looking back at the system interface that was hovering in his mind, projected to his face; only he could see it.

He recalled what one of the kids had said earlier. About Ninna suffering from an illness. He never knew that Ninna was suffering from any illness.

There was no way he was going to ask her such a question at this point.

The medical scriptures that looked like a scroll in the interface were rolling. When Harvy gazed at it for quite a while, the scroll moved off of the shelf and isolated itself, hovering at the front.

Harvy realised that he had moved the scroll with his eyes. Whatever direction he looked, the scroll would take such turn.

He couldn't possibly be punching the air right there. He would seem like a lunatic. He was grateful that the system interface was user-friendly.

The medical scriptures opened right in front of him, and several information was displayed. There was a bright heading that was highlighted in blue ink.

He clicked on it with a wink, and something popped up.

Suddenly, a chart appeared out of nowhere. It was the chart of the information of Ninna.

[Ping! Patient's chart loaded.]

Name: Ivan Ninna

Age: 67 years old.

Occupation: Caregiver.

Illness: Stage one cancer.

When Cory saw this, he swallowed. His heart missed a beat. Ninna had cancer? How come he didn't know? How did he not find out?

Oh, right, he hadn't visited her in forever. But then, how about the rich guy who often came there? This was not the time for questions. This was the time for urgency.

The pop-up disappeared. What reappeared was the requirements needed for her to be healed.

Harvy read and studied the diagram in front of him. He didn't know what to believe. He didn't think he was in the position to choose what to believe.

All he could think of at that moment was taking Ninna to the hospital. The cancer was still at a tender age and could be treated early. That was the best bet.

But at second thought, he thought about the system. If the system had just diagnosed the condition of Ninna, then it would surely be able to provide a solution. Wasn't that the right way of thinking? He wasn't entirely sure.

The diagram started to dissolve into random letters. At first, it seemed like scrambles of letters that were waiting to be arranged. Harvy had no time for such a time wasting task.

When he was about to change his mind, the scrambled words reformed into clear and sensible words. His eyes brightened at the sight.

He could make meaning of the words at once.

"Get me a calabash." Harvy said to Claire.

"Huh?" Claire was dumbfounded.

"Don't just stand there like a dummy! Get it right away!!!"Harvy yelled.

Claire was stunned speechless. It was hard to tell why she was still there standing and staring. Perhaps she was still struggling to understand whom Harvy was referring to in such a manner.

While she was still in shock, one of the kids had run away to the back of the building. The boy returned with a brown calabash.

"Here, Harvy." The little boy said with a small voice, handling the calabash to him.

Harvy retrieved the calabash and gave it to Claire.

"Hold it." Harvy ordered.

Claire had no choice because Harvy had placed the object in her palm.

Harvy hurried out of sight and went to the small garden in the compound. He walked to a plant that had purple flowers.

He plucked the flowers first, then uprooted the smaller stem of the flower. He scooped the wet soil beneath the uprooted stem into the purple flowers that he had made into an artificial plate.

He dropped the remaining stem and hurried back into the building. As soon as he dropped the remaining stem, the stem dried at once, melting into ashes. Harvy didn't see this happen!

Harvy crushed the flowers and the soil until the purple liquid mingled with the soil.

"I need rain water." He demanded.

Claire was clueless. From her reactions, it was obvious that she wasn't the type that ran errands.

"Rain fell overnight." A little girl stepped forward. She looked to be in an early six. "We collected some water into the pail outside. I will fetch some." The little girl offered.

"That's so thoughtful of you. I'll come with you." Harvy replied, handling the calabash back to Claire.

The calabash now contained the mixture of the crushed flower and wet soil.

Harvy was following the little girl when something deep inside of him turned his neck to the back. When he looked, he saw Claire trying to place the calabash on the floor.

"What the hell girl! It must not touch the ground. Hold it!!!" Harvy yelled at her.

Claire was shook to her bones by the scream, but she was lucky enough not to drop the calabash.

Harvy left with the little girl, then returned with a bowl of rain water. He poured the water directly into the calabash and stirred with his fingers for a few seconds.

When the content was evenly mixed, he walked to Ninna and helped her open her mouth.

He poured the liquid substance into her mouth...
